@@nntflow7058 there is no AI going on here. This is a camera hooked up to a microcontroller with a fixed post-training database of values to compare the image against. It scores the image against the preset db scores and picks the one that has the highest score as the most likely. There's not even any real AI going on in the original (pre-shipment) training, it's just feeding information through a neural net to get the weight table.

Almost two years ago, I bought an air fryer oven on a whim (I'd never heard of them before). When it arrived, I tried it out and switched my main cooker off at the fuse box and have never used it since. Being an oven type air fryer, it came with slotted two trays and a base tray, a rotisserie with prongs, a rotating basket (for chips and things) and a few other accessories - all for under £100! I then bought a worktop twin plate induction hob and between the air fryer oven and new hob plus my fancy microwave, I manage completely without a cooker at a lot less cost than conventional cooking. Being a single guy who loves cooking and gadgets, it couldn't be better - and is a far more versatile arrangement than I had previously. Three tier steamer for veg on induction - perfect! Medium/large potato cut into 8/12 wedges (skin on), done in the air fryer in 15 minutes - great!

I honestly wouldn't let AI take over MY life or my world. I mean that i decided to not use AI. Why? Because i just don't need it. I don't want to fall in the illusion that i need it. Because i prefer to express my own intellectuality and creativity, or anything i'm able to do by myself. I see that many people delegates too much things to AI, including teenagers to make their homework....So what would happen, if people use AI to replace their own aptitudes. Creativity is already taken over by AI, and many real artists struggles because of that. What will happen if someone would wrote a book with AI and would become rich and famous? AI is the danger of illusion, that it could create so many things, that it would slowly replace humans abilities. We already make this mistake by using connected objects to turn off the light AT OUR PLACE....So do you imagine the catastrophy of AI taking over our intellectuality, and creativity? Would humans still able to make things by themselves?
I don't find AI revolutionnary, but dangerous for Humanity. It's not because it's high technology that it's great. It's just bring this illusion. I don't see that as an experience...By cons, when i write a book by myself, when i draw by myself, when i think by myself, or many others things i'm able to do...I make my own experience.
The problem with AI and many products connected is the promise of experiences....Making us believe that we couldn't do experiences by ourself, with our own faculties. The experience of AI stay a faked and superficial way to have some sensations or excitement in our lives...But it litterally corrupt the link with ourself.
So it's seen as revolutionnary, and it's exactly the problem. Many people falls in the trap of illusions. Instead to be encouraged to use our own faculties, we are encouraged to replace this faculties by AI faculties. It's exactly like that that big compagny trap us in many way and make us buy stuffs we don't need. Because they put the idea of happiness, experiences, faculties on superficial things.
While i learned that we already have a lot of treasures in ourself. It' s so fullfilling, when you make something with YOUR aptitudes./ Don't delegates or replace your ability to think and to BE by something artificial. Stays humans and simple, guys. We don't need AI or connected objects...We need the best connection ever, the connection with nature and with our souls...
But many people have forget that. When i'm outside, and that i'm the only one still listening the song of the birds, and keeping my smartphone in my bag, while all others people have their nose in their phone, and don't even hear the birds anymore.....I see that we have already lost our part of humanity.I don't think we should live through a program. We are humans. We have a brain, that we don't use at his highest value, and you want AI to take over the world? So no, i don't see where it's revolutionnary to transform us into robots. Mostly for our teenagers, that would slowly think that machine are here to do everything at our place. They already live too much by their phones and social network...So with AI...i guess they wouldn't be able to do anything by themselves.
But humans are so corrupted by big company that they let big company says what they need to be or to have in order to be happy. Live by your own parameters, guys, not the parameters of someone else, mostly if it come from a big company that make all for money.

I just cook my food in an air fryer and write down on a paper how long I think is perfect and I usually do 180c for everything to not make it too complicated. You can cook something till you are satisfied and then just add or attract a minute or two if you want different results and you need to check on your food the first times to understand what the result might be like. I have a smart feature on my airfryer but it is just easier to have times written down instead of playing around with menus or waiting for the air fryer to do something on its own, you pop whatever you want to eat in to the air fryer, set it to 180c or something for however long it will need and there are no more worries. I have noticed that 200c is very harsh on the top of the food so that is why I go for 180 instead, still super hot but it is way better, even though you might need to wait a little longer. I used to do my frozen fries for 12 minutes in 180c but 8-9 minutes makes perfection depending on what you are trying to achieve, anything above 9 minutes kind of makes the crust too hard.

The Dreo Chefmaker is the way to go for air-frying meat. It's also "AI" in that you put a temperature probe into your meat of choice, tell the air fryer what it is, and how you want it cooked, and it goes to town using multiple cook stages and temperature curves. It also has a water atomizer the inner/outer temperature. I've had one for awhile, and it does a pretty good job. Not "restaurant" quality, but definitely pretty good for home-cooked in an oven.

I bought air fryer fries (chips) once because I was curious. But for those the cooking time was shorter than I usually would do fries and the fries turned out the best air fryer fries I had to this day. But I am not going to pay almost 3x as much when I can get perfectly fine fries much cheaper.

This is the best airfryer if you have a family to cook for.
Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer Air Fryer, Dual Zone with Removable Divider, Large 10.4L Drawer, 7-in-1, Air-Fryer Uses No Oil, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Max Crisp, Non-Stick Dishwasher Safe Parts, Black AF500UK
But its also good if you are a person on your own. I have had many different airfryers over the past 16 + years. They have all been about the same size though, and around the £60 to £80 price point. They gave all heen fine and have done the job they were designed to do, and i loved all of them . They have saved me time and money and i wouldn't be without one now.
The Ninja is definitely a considered purchase, as its a higher price point, but it is well worth the money. I got mine on a daily deal price and it was very reduced, cost wise. I've had it since February this year, and have cooked much more in it than i ever did in any of my previous models. I used to use my airfryer about 3 to 4 times a week, this one i use 5 to 6 times a week. Its a fantastic machine. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

They call everything "AI" these days...
Ability to apply preset cooking mode depending on camera recognition does not AI make.
By that logic, the autofocus on the camera is AI, because it adjusts the focus depending on the data it receives from the camera.

I'd bet it was designed in the US and they just changed "fries" to "chips" in the interface for British English. Which means only thin cut fries would be detected as "chips," and the "chips" you bought were considered "wedges" (which is what we'd probably call that cut of chips in the states).

    • @markc1793
      @markc1793 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

As a Brit, even i'd say the chips Barry got were on the line to becoming wedges. They were proper thick cut chips and with the skin on as well, i'm not really surprised the "AI" thought they were wedges.

Hi Barry i brought my first air fryer when i was 25 and I'm now 61 and i got it from qvc and imported with a uk plug ive also been a butcher now for 32 years and still plodding along all though getting slower 😊, daewoo do some very good products and a von chef also do some good products, over the years I've had so many different air fryers over the years and so many different ninjas but I'm not a fan of them my two in my kitchen now is the 12lt cosori which what ever you put in comes out perfectly especially because it has heating elements at the bottom as well as the top and my second is the instant pot verso and a brilliant air fryer and a real workhorse and on special offer it's just brilliant, but i truly can't say enough about the cosori, cheers mate 🍻
