Nobody mentions that, it seems, but Liquid didn't just win without losing a map, they didn't lose a single racks! They lost a single T3 tower in the whole playoff stage...
Players like Topson and Ceb get all the attention for their risky overextensions and rampages, and that type of play is definitely more exciting, but it's so much more difficult to defend than it is to rack up kills, and it wins way more games. Don't forget what the D in Dota used to stand for. In the lower brackets, people seem to think it means "deathmatch".
@synderen I made the onion dog and soda cats shirts for you! Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to TI, but it's cool that someone was able to use my design :D
Hey!! Thanks so much for the original shirt and design. We love it at home and I wear it a lot :D. It's one of the best gifts I've ever received from a fan!
For rosh pit, it would be interesting if the pit is actually a another portal going to underhollow, the same with TI8 battlepass mini game Meaning when you enter the pit, you wont see Roshan but you are teleporting to Underhollow, another map.
Hey Sunsfan, your sick-voice cast really wasn't bad at all. It was obvious you were falling sick but it was still an enjoyable listen regardless! Take care next TI!!
Just want to thank you again. I had to go to my car to get my wallet to buy the we say things shirt. Thankfully that's when I closed my windows before the huge rain storm that night
Hey Sunsfan if you think getting in shape is hard I have a hack for you. Look up the 30 minute squat challenge, you'll have to battle through the discomfort but it becomes so worth it.
Don't worry synderman, I'm completely fine. You don't have to feel bad. You didnt infect me with anything. I have a strong immune system. Also I didn't get to attend TI. So I wasn't anywhere near you. But lets focus on the positive!
Bought one of your new shirts assuming Sunsfan would make comfy merch, was correct very nice and comfy with fast shipping. Only issue for me was its a bit smaller for the size I bought than normal.
Hey guys, just catching the podcast today, have a suggestion for merch. Any thoughts on a keychain? Maybe of the horse? On that same vein, what about lanyards?
The aura meta has been here for so long that whichever teams are ahead and got the items will end up winning inevitably. Synderan sums it up pretty much with - teams get ahead, teams win. When you see a team is ahead by 20 mins, i personally just switch off. Even on highlights i dont bother to watch it because by the middle of the video it was clear one team will win it.
I think the main reason people dislike PGL is that their productions don't 'feel good' for the audience. With TI13 it's the lack of activities for attendees. They cut cost too much and therefore trim the QoLs from events and it just doesn't feel good. Sure they handle the core production very well and professionally, but good events are not just about the basic production, it's also the flairs and vibes. TI was like a good hotel, but this is The freaking International man, it should be more like a luxurious 5-star resort where it feels like THE biggest, most prestigious event of the year. PGL definitely trims too much of the fat and it makes their events boring.
Finally the show is back, glad to see it! SUNSfan, sorry you got sick; if that ruined your chance to cast Grand Finals as was rumored. Having finished TI13, the collective opinion is that it’s one of worst one ever, maybe the worst; for both in-person and online viewers. Numerous pauses and delays in the games, several potentially game-altering or at least noticeable bugs (Saksa Mirana Leap, Quinn Puck Phase Shift, Ramzes Doom Scorched Earth), terrible arena setup with it not in the center so the screens were hard to see for most people, non-existent opening ceremony, nothing extra for anyone to do in the arena, barely any extra content in between games like player interviews or content pieces, no water bottles allowed (seriously wtf) with shit food options, no Late Game or after show, a mostly bland boring meta where some heroes having too much HP or insane Facets or both with some of the worst hero variety ever at a TI resulting in almost all 2-0 stomps and a third straight boring 3-0 finals. Oh and the most expensive TI ticket to date. BUT OTHER THAN ALL THAT, IT WENT GREAT. Fuck PGL. People shit on TI4; and yes TI4 had the dumb format and the eventual deathball Grand Finals, but the games leading up to the Grand Finals were good, and it was also the first time in a big arena; the Techies reveal in the All-Star match was great. TI4 had good vibes for parts of it.
SHOP REVIEW: I bought your mug. Idk how but the quality is visibly above any mug I've ever had. This print is never coming off, it's part of the mug? Wtf? I'm gonna have to get a shirt or a hoodie now. Also the handle fits perfectly which is a weird thing to have to say but I've noticed all my mugs are not very comfortable to hold. Also also, the inside of the handle is somehow unslippery, which again is weird and I've never seen on any of my mugs. Do you guys even make any profit on these?
does anyone know where I can watch the synderen wholesome video part? Maybe someone knows on what day between what games it was? It's not in the International 2024 content playlist and I don't wanna dig through all the days streams
I've watched every TI other than last year. And this one was definitely the least exciting to me. Not only was it 2-0 basically every series, but the games didn't really feel close. Sure they weren't all stomps but I felt like the majority of the games didn't have the tension of who will win for long. And the teamifights, they generally felt like the teams went in and did their thing and it either works or doesn't and not ok guys we need some great play to win. I'm exaggerating a bit but yeah. Later on I wasn't expecting to see great plays and memorable moments. Later on I wasn't expecting any big memorable moments.
Agreed. In terms of games/meta, this was definitely the worst TI and I have watched every TI since 2013. Not a surprise at all as I hated the meta long before TI even started.
The new TI format just sucks, it creates easy runs to high finishes so we have a lot of less competitive games, theres less opportunities for top teams to play each other, and we dont get as many intra-regional rivalries (sometimes some of the most fun games). It doesnt feel like we get a real 'TI meta' anymore cause teams just dont play each other often enough to develop counter drafts and the short break gives teams opportunities to just figure everything out and it all becomes too 'solved' and boring
the production quality of this ti as a online viewer was shit. the audio on youtube was clipping bad. on twitch was okay. until they tried to mix the crowd mics in. it was full of echo. the sound production was really really bad. it really ruins the experience because the sound of the crowd is important especially in the finals. and every time they tried to mix it in it was just full of echo. it sounded like a 100 man discord call. compared to last years TI it looked (and sounded like) a small LAN by perfect world.
@@imtryinghere1 i thought so, then i looked at the chat and reddit which reported the same issues. i also checked on my tv and phone same thing. it was sad 3 days to have ears
I watched every single game on youtube (yes I'm a degen) and never had a single audio issue. My guess is it's a TH-cam/CDN issue, not anything to do with the production. TH-cam live streaming is a second class citizen.
I had the same issues. Maybe u guys just don’t hear shit like that but the caster audio was constantly clipping. Compared to other esport events the quality was actually really bad. From the terrible produced content bits. To the cheap team intros or The cheesy stage design. It just wasn’t cool.
Hate is the verb that to me is superb, And love but a drug on the mart. Any kiddie in school can love like a fool, But hating, my boy, is an art. And this is why dota is toxic....
I dont respect aura wins. I have more respect for ramzes, who lost buying blink, than 33 or ace who are winning with sleeper auras. They won by playing anti-dota. Anti-football is only acceptable for underdogs. For guardiola its illegal. Legal for 2004 greece.
You guys and all the haters are way too negative about the finals. The first two games were good games. Only the last game was a stomp, having one out of three games being a stomp is only natural for dota. Whining about the meta is meta itself. There has never been a time where whe whiners didn't whine, I have heard it all. Team that buffs their carry more wins - boring Team with bigger teamfight ultis wins - boring Team that split pushes more wins - boring Team that buys stronger team items wins - boring Team that gets initiation wins - boring Team that kills towers faster wins - boring Team that can survive enemys initiation wins - boring Team that holds map control wins - boring Team that gets roshans wins - boring Team that wins lanes wins - boring Do you even like dota? Here are two "metas" that people like Enemy team throws - wow comeback Team gets lucky - brilliant display of skill
I don't think the final was bad, but with the rest of the tournament before it I wasn't expecting much. And Liquid did play really well, was more then winning than GG losing
Blitz was incredible in this episode. Really eye opening stuff.
You actually fooled me, I thought it was a guest episode and was wondering when Blitz will show up
@@goink3368 sorry brother saw the thumbnail and no guest and I had to.
Also the no-timestamps they usually do when they have guests also fooled me
Didnt like when he said he kicked 33 because he underperformed
Nearly as dissapointing as no NBA segment

can't believe what the horse is coming back wow!
This airplane story is so traumatic
I'm glad their relationship survived through that. I would've been weighing the pros and cons of burning bridges if I had suffered through that
Finally the highly anticipated awaited post TI episode!
Hi guys, I haven’t played dota2 for years, but I still love you guys, hope you’re all doing well srs.
Nearly choked on my coffee on that Jenkins airport security story holy shit lmao

Yeah i do think that they way the game has developed requires some balancing to survivability. Love the work you guys always put out

FYI: I also used to play dota 1 with bunch of friends, (I still play) but those guys stopped playing before dota 2, but they still watch Pro dota.
Old Dog is the shining gem of Canadian cinema 🫡
Hey Sunsfan if you think getting in shape is hard I have a hack for you. Look up the 30 minute squat challenge, you'll have to battle through the discomfort but it becomes so worth it.
Instead of reversing universal heroes, they should just make str+agi, str+int, and agi+int heroes as well and really get the party started lol

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ,one of the best movies.
