I love how' he's consistently humble throughout the interview until the end where he boasts that Holo is cuter than any other waifus out there. LOL!!!! XD
First: "Rewrite until your story becomes interesting". This phrase helped me a lot to change my perspective, that even succesful people have been through the same rough road and you just have to keep going. Second: Hasekura-Sensei gave good answers to every question, with a good foundation that justified clearly every single point. I think that's amazing. Third: Next interview Watari Wataru!
Just search them online. It's pretty easy to find an English translation. You should know that the anime skips over one volume but it's not THAT important. (Other than the fact she kinda gets mentioned later on)
Thank you Joey for always bringing up the amazing Seiyuu in your interviews with authors, I think they deserve much more recognition as in my opinion they are the biggest most important element in bringing our beloved characters to life.
It would be cool to see an interview with a voice actor/actress if possible. Like Ai Kayano (voice of Shiina from Sakurasou No Pet Na Kanojo aka Best girl, Shiro from No Game No Life, Darkness from Konosuba, Menma from Anohana: the flower we saw that day, and many other incredible roles!)
It's interesting how I know this person so well, and this personal connection I have (from the Light Novel afterword). Even if I have never talked to him, and he doesn't even know that I exist, he still managed to change me.
This was 4 years before that was even announced. It wasn't even in the works yet. At MOST he said "yeah I might make a new season/series at some point"
I love these types of sponsor videos because it's really interesting to learn about the creator and their thinking behind their work. It makes for a really enjoyable video especially because the viewer can see that both you and the creator are having fun.
Woah holy shettt, you have Hasekura sensei on!! Spice and Wolf was my first light novel full set that I own (now missing the newest one), and I love it. Many thanksss
If the author were willing to write a Japanese equivalent to Spice and Wolf, I would recommend a plot featuring the Shinto Fox goddess of rice known as Inari. That would be pretty cool.
Ok now I now why all of the names of the characters in the show start the same way as their surnames Yukino yukinoshita Yuigahama yui Kawasaki saki Etx
Joey i have no words for this video. I think 3 or 4 years ago the first episode of soice and wolf was suggested to me by youtube, i actually watched my first anime on youtube. I grew to love Holo an Lawrence, so today, seeing the creator of my fisrt and most favourite anime series ... i'm not even gonna lie, i need new underwear it's a mess in my room. Just, thank you so much. Keep being awesome, Ja ne.
Joey do you think it would be possible to get Sorachi (Gintama) to do a interview, or the guy behind Oregairu? I would love to see one of those guys doing an interview, and I know you love both shows.
Interview Ishida Sui-sensei. If possible. (Since he doesn't seem like a person who wants to be seen directly). Or Toboso Yana-sensei OR, Urobuchi Gen!!! . . . I'm asking to much . . Meh, Joey asks us to ask.
Ah! You didn't ask the most important question! "Anime season 3 when?" :P That was really cool, thanks for doing this. I clicked this video so damn fast.
Ammar maybe because he's the creator of the novels which is the original work, but it's not up to him to decide wether it gets a 3rd season? Like pay attention people they clearly talk about his reaction to the anime which shows he has not much control on it.
Spice and Wolf was the first light novel I started and I absolutely love it. I loved it so much I bought all the volumes after I read the 1st one. So happy to see this interview. I waited with so much anticipation when you announced it early on you twitter.
Being (half) Japanese helps (since most authors only speak Japanese), being a TH-camr that has > 1 mil subscribers and is into anime/manga/LNs helps as well; as well as Joey living full-time in Japan and being open to sponsorship video's. Next to that, timing and luck.
I wonder if bookwalker is paying the authors to do these videos. Bookwalker might be doing a lot of sales with these promotions. Which is cool because it is helping to support who whole industry and the original author.
Thanks for bringing such a great video, and thanks to Hasekura Isuna for creating such a amazingly wonderful series. Spice & Wolf is my all time favorite Light Novel\Manga\Anime series of all time. I own all the light novel and manga volumes that are out in the US, plus a copy of the Anniversary collectors edition, and the anime as well. I have one Holo statue so far, will have two more by the November\December that are on pre-order\backing. I've also already pre-ordered Light Novel vol.18 that is coming out soon. Yeah, I'm a bit obsessed, but I think everybody should have at least one series that enjoy that much.
Joey you are amazing getting Hasekura Isuna to do an interview. Thanks so much. It was really interesting and informative! As for Mangaka I'd love to see Yuu Watase, Hiromu Arakawa or Akirma Toriyama. Light Novelist I'd love to see Shiden Kanzaki, Tsutomu Sato or Nagaru Tanigawa.
I read the manga version of Sakuran and also saw the movie version, I didn't even know that was an inspiration on Spice and Wolf! Just makes me like both of them even more
I love spice in wolf its what got me into anime and it is by far my favorite anime i wish i saw the notification quicker and i will be buying the full light novel set soon
i think it's for the same reason that some gamers wear masks while they go to arcades, because of japan's mentality of staying devoted to only one thing. if they have another job, their boss might see them and think that they don't work enough at the job he/she offered them
It's so interesting to watch you interview such talented authors/artists. For some reason I get inspiration to work on my own projects afterwards. :D Hmm, well since you asked for suggestions, I think it would be amazing if you could interview Hirohiko Araki-sensei. (^_^)
7:46 but by knowing author favorite character it enable fans to somehow can understand a little bit of author personality, which is nice, there's possibility author may have something in common with the character

Who is watching this 6 years later because of the anime remake coming soon?
I love how' he's consistently humble throughout the interview until the end where he boasts that Holo is cuter than any other waifus out there. LOL!!!! XD
I like how he makes them so mysterious in every interview :0

This series is amazing and it's sad that the anime was left unfinished.

Spice and Wolf helped me so much to get through Personal Finance, Business Law, and Economics back in high school.
Hasekura Isuna could easily make an interesting isekai that sells but respect to him for trying to be unique and not follow the trend.
He took a physics major in uni, what is the genius doing here in this industry?
That's awesome that you love Spice and Wolf, too. It's probably my all-time favorite light novel.
