  • Today the vlog is me just updating you on what has happened this week and how I am feeling. I do explain why. The fear I am living with is enhanced due to the events of the week.
But everyone in the UK living with chronic illness that has no choice but to claim for funding, lives with this type of fear.

    WHO AM I:
My name is Charlie and I am disabled. I live with chronic illness, I have a severe form of Psoriatic Arthritis and its crap! I am in pain all the time and always battling fatigue. BUT, I will not let it win. I love to learn and to laugh (even though it hurts my arthritic rib cage LOL). You will often see Ollie (she) my black Labrador. She is currently my trainee assistance dog! We are together, literally ALL the time.
As there are a number of awful people who target us - the vulnerable - here is a link to my personal LinkedIn account. You can literally see the past 25+yrs of my career, people who have recommended me (as a Logistician as Disability Specialist is very new for me).

No. People have always had chronic illnesses. Another reason to destroy the Tories as a party at the General Election AND the local elections.

I'm 24, suffering with anxiety, depression, ptsd, P.O.T.S, vasovagal syncope, neuralgia, OCD, arthritis in my hips and knees, ADHD and Autism. I still didn't feel like I was entitled to PIP and that I'm just a leech on the system. I've recently found your videos that have absolutely given me the confidence that I am entitled to extra help. It's embarrassing and frustrating that I can't work a job, I don't want to be like this and it has made me genuinely suicidal that I can never live a normal life.
Your videos have helped me with my PIP assessment phonecall. Thank you.

I worked until 2023 until I was made redundant. I already had a score of disabilities, like you and it was very difficult to keep up the work I was doing (full time - I am amazed I am still here). Anyway, on benefits now. But, I want you to know that I paid into those national insurances (in 2 countries over the span of my working life) all those years for people like you (and now me). And I have done it gladly. You are entitled to those benefits and if you can, you should get them. And hey, may be one day, you may be able to help someone else in a very different way, when you are good and ready. Perhaps not through moneys, but in deeds or simply listening to someone. That's how life works.

Anyone that knows you, who has spent anytime with you, knows how kind hearted you are and how great it is to spend time with you. Stay positive. Haters always need something and someone to hate. As an ex promoter in social media and music you are correct. That is excacly how i would look at this, know your own truth, and those who don't know your truth inevitably take people on the trail to find out, in this case just a women with chronic illness helping other's. Often with what i did was to say a few things that was bait, just to make people curious, other wise they wouldn't care unfortunately sometimes it's how the system works, but trust me it work's. No one is going out to physically harm her, its just very well calculated words to try and push someone off their platform, fortunately for those doing it, it often works the other way lol, it actually brings more ettention to that person and often good things come from it. The old saying "sticks and stones can brake my bones but words will never hurt me" that's what Charlie should have in her for front mindset. Media sell media threw untruths, but even they know there's two edges to that sword.

If the PM gets his way. With the new rules that he wants to tailor PIP. Make it more individual to person applying for it. Some of the things the PM has come out with is shocking. Reduce your payments and use the money to pay for hosptal visits for yourself instead. I did not realize I was entitled to private healthcare. As for mental health, there is a 2-year waiting list. Try investing into more of these services instead of leaving it down to charities. Deal with that instead Mr PM.

They want to encourage a suicide for the sick policy first, then the free euthanasia for prisoners and lazy and feckless contingents. The benefits sanctions are really designed to make people claiming housing lose their homes and with the stress of it do the above. Fit notes were originally going to be called Unfit notes but they decided against it as nudge psychology theory told them they could get a better kick off. rate by renaming to Fit rather than sick or unfit.

I am working hard on a university course and trying to keep my head above the water, and the PIP funds the things I couldn't get via Disabled Students Funding (aka DSA). Losing my PIP would mean I lose the things I need but can't get to help me study. At the time I was knee-deep in assignment hell, the form came through and I found you + your videos to help me calm down and do the form. That is how you have personally impacted me for the better - I sent the form off in time because of you and now I have a chance I otherwise would not have had, to remain in education. Thank you.

After a work related injury in 2021 which resulted in an amputation and extremely limited mobility, I had dealings with PIP and ESA.
My confidence is at an all time low, and anxiety at a high. Even making a phone call to these departments triggers dread and panic.
Not knowing the system and the trick questions they pull equated to me being awarded zero points.
They do make you feel like you're feigning injury, and i can completely understand now why some people take their lives.
Every step i take is a painful fight. Sleeping is practically non existent, and there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to help.

In Scotland PIP is now being replaced by ADP. Another change!!!! Let’s hope this is better than the change from DLA to PIP was. They had people being forced to come in for interviews one case for example was for a lady who had suffered a stroke left blind in one eye and one side of her body no longer worked. The person who was supposed to interview her took one look and awarded her full amount and apologised for all the trouble she had gone through to come for the interview. It’s shocking. Supposedly ADP won’t be doing interviews I don’t know if that a good or bad thing. There’s only so much you can covey via the form. But also the absolute anxiety and being judged and “diagnosed “ by a person with no knowledge of your illness was a disgusting joke 😢

Like most things, this will just go, especially if Charlie herself doesn't feed into it, because that's excacly what they want, so they then can twist a narrative. You can't do that when there's no words spoke too twist.

I was fired from my job 17 years ago, and 2 years prior to that almost lost that job due to health issues which today are much more extensive than they were back then. However prior to that I've worked full time from the age of 18; I used to work 60-70 hours a week for years, to the point I collapsed (I was diagnosed with exhaustion by a gp who signed me off for a month) & have never fully recovered. I can literally count on my hands how often I leave my house in a year & I never do without assistance, I can't dress or bathe myself & yet PIP continue to say that I'm perfectly capable. I'm scared too, not only do we have to live with the fact that we can't live relatively normal lives, that we are vulnerable but now we have to deal with all this too - when will it end?

Great video. No one will ever understand chronic mental illness unless they have been touched by it. It doesn't just affect patients, it affects loved ones too. Presenting well does not mean you are well, it means you are masking and that is unsustainable. Do you honestly know what is really going through people's minds when you're talking to them? Do you understand how dangerous it can be to give any responsibility to, work alongside or be served by someone who presents well but really isn't ? Too many of those with mental illness present well and tell you that they are capable, when they can't even cross the Road safely. It is a mammoth task convincing them they are not well, because they are a danger to themselves and others.
