Why is it dwp are more than happy to give pip to people who blatantly do not need it yet when you have a genuine illness that qualifies you for pip you get nothing it is so unfair👎 hope you feel bit better soon Charlie so nice of you to help people to understand this broken system👍

I get my meds in the nomad pack from the pharmacy one week at a time to try and stop me ODing. The tip I was given when I was last in the psych ward. Base everything on your worst days! Even mental health can be crippling and my instances from going from functional to attempting to terminate can be seconds. First time I tried for PIP I had help from citizens advice, got nowhere. Second time, done it myself and got the full rate. Having a supportive medical team around you can make a huge difference as well. Be kind to them!
I’ve recently had my review and change from PIP to ADP in Scotland and it’s been seamless. Be honest, though, and always about you at your worst in every scenario. Also, it’s alarming how any disability can impact your life. Since last August, when I experienced a blood clot in my left shoulder during a bowel operation my confidence has dropped severely. Even before losing my job August 2022, I’ve had DWP tell me I’m not fit for work related activity. Just make sure you use your words on the forms or encounter. The best people to ask for advice or help with your disability are disabled themselves. Together we can all get there!

Thanks again for a helpful video, but what about the mobility part of PIP?
These are the points I was given for aids, so do as Charlie said and take pics; I'm a dumb ass and didn't.
    Stool for cooking/washing up - 0 points.
Use microwave (got rid of cooker as fire alarm kept going off as I doze off) - 0 points.
Pill organiser (has 2 rows of pots for AM and PM) - 0 points.
Sit on edge of bath to sink wash - 0 points.
Hold on to things to sit on toilet - 0 points.
Sit down to put on clothes (bottoms and socks) - 0 points.
I say and do things before my brain engages, so can be rude to people. I've been the same since primary school but was never diagnosed with ADHD, even though many believe I have it - 0 points.

I have to have dosette boxes for my meds, they have all my meds in separate compartments with the times I have to take them, they have a low impact paper cover that is easy to expel my meds, I'm just waiting to have a reassessment by telephone, I've been on pip for 3 years now, I have had a good read of the points I was awarded on my initial assessment, I would say that my health has worsened since my initial assessment. The perch chair you've talked about, I'm going to add that to my 4 yearly review I'm going through atm as well as the shower chair/stool, have to say though, TH-cam using "AIDS" virus as a reference to your video for disability aids? Hope you have more good days than bad! Appreciate the effort it takes to produce these videos. On a selfish note, as I'm too old for PIP, do you have any plans to provide advice on Attendance Allowance? I'm totally confused by contradictory information regarding this subject. For example, a question about needing assistance to get up the stairs - I do, but it's called a bannister. Are they looking for a person, or do aids such as you describe for PIP count as well? Thank you

Nowadays I’ve got to stop drinking if I’m going out as I’m peeing more & more frequently. If I have a drink within 30 minutes I need to pee! And at night I think my record through the small hours is 8 trips to pee. Then my bowels! Is actually going due to diverticular disease! But when it’s the day it works I’ll be on the loo for what seems ages!! And that’s not the main crux of my PIP which is down to arthritis in my toes, ankles, knees, hands, lumbar spondylitis and instability in my ankles..didnt think about pill/med boxes…as I take up to 10 different meds a day and I use my smartphone to chime to remind me to what to take and when! As for bathing I have flannel washes sitting on the loo! As last time I had a bath I struggled to get out! Took at least 45 minutes! And living on my own was a scary experience!

hello, i've just received my pip review form and have got to start filling it out, i've found that adult nappies are best for outings, my biggest problem is that i haven't been to the doctors at all in the last 4 years since lockdown for two reasons, obviously the best way to contract any virus is the doctors surgery and not having had the so called vaccine high;y likely to get it, i'm a diabetic type 2 insulin and tablet controlled, also i have Cervical myelopathy which was operated on about 2017 i now have great difficulty standing or walking i don't know how i'll get on after this form filling but i'll update you, keep smiling through the pain everyone and always remember.....there is always some other poor soul who is worse off than yourself.

Hi Charlie,I had a review video assessment two weeks ago.I received a message the next day that we had received your report and let you know the decision within six weeks. Yesterday I received a text message at 3.27 pm that we tried to call you. but you were not available we will call you again between 3.45 and 4.15 pm.I was in the shower all the time with my carer. When I saw this message I checked there was only one missed call at 3.56pm nothing before that.I called them back and there was a pre-recorded message that if necessary we will call you again. This morning I received a text message that your review is complete. You should receive your decision in 2 weeks.

Hi Charlie, ( this is BB, though TH-cam loves to give me this other name lol )please can I suggest that if anyone sends photos please maybe send a separate full colour copy of them direct to DWP. I am not sure what the address is, I am 7 years into a long term review so its a while ago. I have a skin condition similar to yours plus it gets infected regularly I also have Lymphedema and various other conditions. It was impossible to show these things as I was unable to stand and was swathed in dressings, bandages, braces and wraps ( the nurse was astounded I was even being assessed )
When I saw the assessor she was so pleased I had full colour copies of all the photos I had submitted to give her as she said the photos just appear as small black and white boxes once they are scanned on the system and she couldn't make out what they were. I did have to sign a disclaimer as the photos were a bit yuck and give my permission etc, she then put them in the envelope to send to DWP. She did say in future just to send the photos separately ( obviously with my name and national insurance number clearly written on each one ) but now I cant think if she said initially to send a set to DWP and a set to the assessment centre?
Basically and please excuse me but you know where I am coming from lol when I say my head doesn't work right well, so what I mean is all parties need to see, in your face, full colour pics lol otherwise unless things have changed all they see are tiny black and white pics of photos that show a blur of nothing. Charlie, you are a lot more succinct than me with writing lol please could you perhaps take what I am trying to say here and perhaps update if things have changed and simplify it if possible ? Thank you so much, I am really taking in all your advice and I share your pain and frustration x

Fingers crossed, even though symptoms are pointing to lewys body early dementia, it might go away and so will the hallucinations and delirium that’s causing the rodents touching cutlery spoons! yet not found or making noise yet! I have had a car for last 20 years, I lost it because I can hold a mobile phone ergo I can hold a steering wheel , never mind that I was given 10 points for my mobility.

I know I'm being picky What is the point in giving a person 10 pts in mobility category apart from messing the applicant up either by losing the enhancement or as having the same payment as 8 pts you just said people who use a walking pole by your definition aren't I'll I cant agree with that a walking pole is much easier to fold up when sitting down than a walking stick

Hi Charlie, how do I get in touch with you please? Do you have an email address? I created a LinkedIn account just to message you but when I click message it brings up another thing trying to give me a free trial of a messaging service?? No idea how LinkedIn works, lol! Appreciate I might not be looking in the right places. Thanks.
