Not gonna lie, that whole sequence with the moving hallway, with the camera behind mickey's back as he advances through the stone hallway and then falls down the stairs? I was too impressed by it to even notice the joke. That's some good scaling shit right there that's really easy to fuck up, and really hard to animate. Good job, early-30's Disney.
SweetestSweden i cannot, for the life of me, understand how animations made almost a century ago are better than most, if not all, of today’s animation. It’s stylistic, sure, but it’s smooth as all hell.
Darkblade12 most animations were done frame by frame in house and the workers were actually treated like humans. Also, these animations were not on a yearly schedule for multiple episodes.
Darkblade12 - Animation back then was done for theatrical release, where they had lots of money and time to do a great job. 2D animation now lives almost exclusively on TV, where budget and time constraints severely limit what you can do.

Dunno why but I get very upset when I saw Pluto and the chicken crying, sweating and howling. I hate to see any animal in pain/threatened. Maybe because I volunteer with an animal shelter and empathise with animals more than humans.

The funniest thing about this cartoon is not only them trying to make it look and seem cheerful but if you see the iris in the beginning its actually a heart.

+Flame of Udun, by today's standards, most famous cartoon icons were assholes in their old days. Hell, even in the Pokemon series, Pikachu was a dick to Ash. In Yu-Gi-Oh!'s original comic, Yami Yugi was a sick fuck (tortured people with psychological mind games when they lost). He was like Jigsaw, but tortured losers for simply losing a gamble.

Dunno why but I get very upset when I saw Pluto and the chicken crying, sweating and howling. I hate to see any animal in pain/threatened. Maybe because I volunteer with an animal shelter and empathise with animals more than humans.
Maybe cuz it's a cartoon short and you should try to get over yourself?
I'm more concerned that you empathize with animals more than humans. I get it. I love animals too, and I'm working on making a career in veterinary medicine, but I wouldn't put animals above humans
