"Here at the DC factory, people are trying to figure out why Lego Batman is the best Batman movie in years. Logically, it makes no sense." I'm dying that's hilarious!
Yeah, because the latest Marvel comics are so great, especially the one with Riri Williams starring at her teacher because she isn't oppressed, DC definitely needs retarded heroes like her..
You know, the Nostalgia Critic may call her a useless pawn but Lois is pretty badass in this. She disguises herself as a worker, infiltrates the plant, discovers the bad guys plan, and then almost gets away after doing a chase even a Parkour star would find impressive. Take notes Zack Snyder.
She's Lois Lane, she doesn't care if they're possible murderers, she's going to expose them. And she did fool them into thinking she was just another face working there which allowed her to overhear their conversations. Also, since she applied for a job their she got some training. And what does it matter, she's not working full time, just long enough until she can uncover the truth. And breaking and entering seems small patatoes compared to what they were doing. I've always liked Lois. Smart, spunky, tough, and somewhat reckless. With a no-nonsense attitude. Also, you're talking about not worth risking your life when people in tights do similar things in these universes. And yes, it's for a good cause. She's always working to uncover corruption and criminal activities. Whether its Lex Luthor or Intergang. And she's improved further over the years. Her best incarnations have been in the Donner films and Smallville. Her worst was in Snyder's fiasco of a film series. There she's just bland and uninteresting. Here she's daring and clever. For a damsel in distress, she's pretty badass.
So does Lois. She almost got away here. And in another episode of this series when the train she was on got hijacked she picked up a machine gun and held off the terrorists. In the comics she's picked up a number of skills to keep herself alive in her reporter life. And it's awesome to see a regular person in a world of superpowers still risking their lives for the greater good. Awesome but ordinary people like Lois Lane, not super badasses like Batman or powerhouses like Superman. And she is the greatest reporter ever in the lengths she'll go through to uncover the truth. And that's why she's the best love interest for Superman. She's a regular human, but one with a lot of guts, street-smarts, and spirit to be on par with him as a person. She also in the comics loves him for being Clark Kent not Superman(post silver-age). Before she found out he was Superman she felt she was the one looking out for naive Clark. Not really. She's always been in modern age a good person. Looking out for Clark and keeping him grounded as a human. And despite her tendency to get in danger, she is still one of the best female icons in comics that isn't a superherione. And I'm glad you agree with me on her portrayal in Smallville, that's one of my favorites. She was funny, tough, and really evoked Margot Kidder's performance from the original Superman films while still being her own thing.
GeneralKenobi75 She might actually work there since the men were away in the war and women worked factory jobs for a bit there. Not negating your statement, she's still badass all things considered.
If I remember right, Christopher Reeves would go eat lunch in his Superman costume and get mobbed by restaurant goers. When he wore his Clark Kent costume, no one really recognized him.
"Paramount, We'll stop making Transformers movies while you stop watching them" I Freaking laugh that part and the rest, Great Work Nostalgia Critic keep it up!!!
It was 1942. I guess one of the reasons why it looks so good because before cartoons were shown on TV, they were in theaters and probably had better animation budgets than say the cartoons of the 50's-70's.
that was one of the whole points modern audiences miss from then. Lois was capable she just got herself into situations ANYONE would need Supes to bail them out of.
Actually this one is one of the ones I would think she could have gotten herself out of granted I might be wrong but I actually own one of the serials from this I had it as a kid and in that one she got in trouble with these giant Egyptian guard things now that I would be like yeah we meed Superman. Also it's weird that this is the most powerful incarnation of Superman before they made him weaker the fact that he's punching a dude in the jaw and that guy's head didnt immediately rocket off his body to Gotham City.
Don't know about this incarnation of superman but superman is as strong as he needs to be if he need to be just strong enough to knock some average thugs out then that's as strong he is if he need to be strong enough to to stop a train then he is he can control his strength otherwise every time he opens a door he crushes the handle and rips it off it's hinges
4:20- Yikes, has Lois Lane participated in *Ninja Warrior* recently?! If only she'd been half this capable in *MoS* or *BvS* without help. Now THIS is how you make a side-character worth rooting for, even when they inevitably need saving. Granted, not everyone can be like Frank West, but Lois regularly investigates dangerous situations. Being able to at least occasionally competently handle herself even against enemies makes more sense than continuing the usual routine: *"Investigate, get captured/kidnapped, conveniently help when there's less risk to you, get rescued, rinse & repeat".*
Yeah ! It would have been possible since SG appeared in All American Comics #61 in 1944. It would have been an interesting foe against Superman if Paramount animated at that time.
I know it was a little extreme, but its really cool how badass Lois was here, even for back then. Even though she eventually became the same damsel is distress, she didnt let herself get caught so easily.
cause that was only way to watch animation. Back then if you wanted to see cartoons (or movies for that regard) the theater was the only place to watch them. Television really effected animation with lowering of budgets across all mediums. Now streaming is watering down animation.

Back in the 40s Superman wasn't a borderline god. He was stronger than humans and had abilities but he was still quite vulnerable. Something like what happened there would have hurt him back then. Today he would have shrugged it off.
Not terribly well written, helped contribute towards the comic book crash and started one of the most obnoxious comic trends: death is cheap. Overall I would have preferred it never existed.
Niall Reid But at the same time, the fallout from it created new characters, including superheroes Superboy and Steel. So, even if you don't like the comic, you have to give it kudos for that.
Samuel Johnson Superboy has been around for decades, but I'll give you Steel alright. It also gave us Doomsday and Supermans black suit so there's that.
Just think how much work animators put into shows like this. 1940s, hand-drawn, and it looks fluid. How is it that we have computers to make it easy for animators to draw and they looks lazy compared to cartoons decades back. I don't want to sound like an old geezer, but it's true. Hold up...She recognized the guard as Clark, through the wig and everything. Yet didnt she see the guard get smashed by the scrap? Besides who else would know except the guard. I realize it was the 40's but common that just makes her look stupid.
He didn't have as much competition from other superheroes back then. They had to keep upping the stakes as more and more of them arrived and now they've gone too far and Superman can do anything.
Back then, there weren't any characters as powerful as Darkseid or Hulk either. The Superman from the 40's wouldn't be that effective in today's comics. The Justice League would have no use for him.
If Siegel and Shuster had gone to Timely, his power levels would never have gone all that high. In fact it's more than likely that his original personality would have remained with some tweaks here and there. Then we'd all be talking about how OP Captain America is, The Avengers would have a robot member called The Spectre, The original Vision would be in the JSA and Jerry and Joe's contributions to heroes like Iron Man, The Hulk and Spider-Man (they'd be working with Stan Lee to create them instead of Jack and Joe) would be admired and loved by millions culminating in them dying happily having lead full and rich lives as members of the Marvel Bullpen.
im liking this a lot, regardless of the comedy material that you can produce from this it also gives people the opportunity to know this exists and people can judge for themselves whether they like it or not
