Regardless, this is a milestone this channel should have hit a LONG time ago, with the amount of effort that is put into each video uploaded. The entire Nostalgia Critic series has impacted me for the better, and it really opened my eyes to new ideas and to think more critically. Breaking TEN Apparently, I missed your comment from a year ago. It this just popped up again in my notifications, and I see my original comment has been misunderstood. I haven’t seen very much of the SNL skits, but I wasn’t trying to comment on the skits themselves, good or bad. I was just using this as an example of how long The Muppets have been eating other Muppets. And since I’ve watched this video, I learned it goes back even further, to at least The Glow Worm sketch. I don’t know what in the video prompted this comment, but The Muppets wouldn’t be the same if they quit eating other Muppets. It would be like having Muppets without explosions. (I know there were explosions in the Wilkins coffee commercials. They probably were in Sam and Friends, too.) That’s a world I don’t want to live in.
Stag Dragon yep the commercial shows a kid playing super Mario 64 he takes a break drinks some milk and then he either goes to the bathroom or goes to bed I don't personally remember and he leaves his glass of milk near the tv which Mario sees jumps out of the tv drinks the milk turns giant and goes back into the tv. I think that is how it went I could be wrong it has been a while since I saw the commercial.

The jerks sketch is one of the best. Every time I see it, I die of laughter. From the dancing skeleton that kills Malcolm to the scene of the dog being pointed with the gun. It is glorious.
As a Canadian, I must concede the title of "country with the most fucked up ads" to the UK. We may get points for sheer quantity, but the UK wins by concentrating the fucked-upedness into one single ad that will haunt me for years to come. Time for a new strategy, Canada. We need to turn all of our PSAs into a single, memorable ad about how amputee robots should ask their parents before putting house hippos in their mouths. Put some creepy Film Board of Canada music in there and that'll show those crumpet eating bastards.
For what it's worth, I grew up in southeastern Ontario and have to give you Americans credit for really bizarre personal injury lawyer ads (there are strict laws surrounding the advertising of legal services in Canada). Jim "The Hammer" Shapiro will forever have a place in my memories.
It's true though. If you have 80 dogs, but don't have enough money to support them, you'll have to downsize. Those 50 dogs are still happy and well fed. Just you either threw 30 dogs into the streets, killed them, or handed them over to Peta (sucks for those who's dumpster they throw the corpses into). Taking care of animals isn't cheap. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions, or get your money elsewhere.
Nah, it's actually misleading advertising. If you don't send the RSPCA money, they WILL kill an animal... only they'll drug it first. Unless they don't, in which case they'll actually point the gun at the _back_ of the head, not the side. This euthanization procedure is entirely unrealistic - and when I'm watching an RSPCA euthanization ad I expect realism, dammit!

I guess its confusing if you dont know what the RSPCA is, but if you dont know that you are probably not British. I don’t know why Critic’s surprised, we’ve seen the Muppets eat each other before, it’s one of their oldest running gags. In the Vincent Price episode, I remember two Muppets singing “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” while one was inside the other’s gullet. I even remember a Muppet eating John Cleese’s agent.
There was even one where a monster called Gorgon Heap ate Kermit at the end of a sketch with VIncent Price--Vincent encouraged the monster by pouring salt on Kermit and telling him that he did look rather tasty.

Still waiting for him to watch the 'Spirit of Dark and Lonely Water' PSA. That's the height of British PSA scariness, assuming you don't include the 'Protect & Survive' films because those were never aired for obvious reasons. Oh, and don't forget the 'In the Summertime' anti-drink driving PSA - in fact, any PSA made by Think! (Sidenote: Technically, PSAs are called PIFs in Britain (Public Information Films) but most people call them PSAs nowadays because PIF sounds stupid.)
I will say this about British adverts, they're quiet effective in their bluntness. Kind of wish we had them especially a caution about water for Florida as too many kids (locals and tourists) don't know that alligators hunt at the water's edge.

I haven’t seen very much of the SNL skits, but I wasn’t trying to comment on the skits themselves, good or bad. I was just using this as an example of how long The Muppets have been eating other Muppets.
And since I’ve watched this video, I learned it goes back even further, to at least The Glow Worm sketch.
I don’t know what in the video prompted this comment, but The Muppets wouldn’t be the same if they quit eating other Muppets. It would be like having Muppets without explosions. (I know there were explosions in the Wilkins coffee commercials. They probably were in Sam and Friends, too.) That’s a world I don’t want to live in.

Stag Dragon yep the commercial shows a kid playing super Mario 64 he takes a break drinks some milk and then he either goes to the bathroom or goes to bed I don't personally remember and he leaves his glass of milk near the tv which Mario sees jumps out of the tv drinks the milk turns giant and goes back into the tv. I think that is how it went I could be wrong it has been a while since I saw the commercial.

The jerks sketch is one of the best. Every time I see it, I die of laughter. From the dancing skeleton that kills Malcolm to the scene of the dog being pointed with the gun. It is glorious.
As a Canadian, I must concede the title of "country with the most fucked up ads" to the UK. We may get points for sheer quantity, but the UK wins by concentrating the fucked-upedness into one single ad that will haunt me for years to come.
Time for a new strategy, Canada. We need to turn all of our PSAs into a single, memorable ad about how amputee robots should ask their parents before putting house hippos in their mouths. Put some creepy Film Board of Canada music in there and that'll show those crumpet eating bastards.
I live in Maine and we get channels from Canada and you do have some fucked up PSAs.
For what it's worth, I grew up in southeastern Ontario and have to give you Americans credit for really bizarre personal injury lawyer ads (there are strict laws surrounding the advertising of legal services in Canada). Jim "The Hammer" Shapiro will forever have a place in my memories.

Those 50 dogs are still happy and well fed. Just you either threw 30 dogs into the streets, killed them, or handed them over to Peta (sucks for those who's dumpster they throw the corpses into).
Taking care of animals isn't cheap. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions, or get your money elsewhere.

Nah, it's actually misleading advertising. If you don't send the RSPCA money, they WILL kill an animal... only they'll drug it first. Unless they don't, in which case they'll actually point the gun at the _back_ of the head, not the side. This euthanization procedure is entirely unrealistic - and when I'm watching an RSPCA euthanization ad I expect realism, dammit!

Its not about animal cruelty, and it bother's me a bit how he missed the obvious point. They are playing on the fact that if a shelter has to close the animals will be euthanized.
I guess its confusing if you dont know what the RSPCA is, but if you dont know that you are probably not British. And if you are not British then you weren't really the intended audience for this commercial. I am not British, but i did happen to know what the RSPCA was, and the message came through perfectly clearly to me.

I don’t know why Critic’s surprised, we’ve seen the Muppets eat each other before, it’s one of their oldest running gags. In the Vincent Price episode, I remember two Muppets singing “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” while one was inside the other’s gullet. I even remember a Muppet eating John Cleese’s agent.
There was even one where a monster called Gorgon Heap ate Kermit at the end of a sketch with VIncent Price--Vincent encouraged the monster by pouring salt on Kermit and telling him that he did look rather tasty.
But Kermit also attacked Vincent as a vampire! ^_^
This is one of my favorite series of nostalgia critic, who agrees.
