Interesting video Ben, highlighting damage that is rarely thought of, or believed, after such an easy skippers mistake.
Love the useless anode bolted over paint too 🤣 (Louis Quadra Marine)

Oh so true, I just did the very thing discussed here. dropping off the mooring on our way to be hauled out for the winter a couple of weeks ago, I thought I was clear of the float line when i clearly wasn't and managed to get it wrapped around the prop, stalling the engine. I was only ticking over in forward but nonetheless it wrapped good a tight around the prop and DUH no engine. Got a tow onto a pontoon and on the next drying out tide I clambered over the side in the dinghy and cut the line free. Yeeaa methinks job done. Sadly while doing some work on the engine I notice that the cast iron casing where the bell housing flares into a support leg to the engine mount had sheared clean through. Darn it, that's engine out, scour the scrap years and backwaters of the salvage industry to try and find a replacement bell housing (early model BMC 1500) or work out how to fabricate something to replace the broken part. Not a job I had panned this winter.
