I believe if Eddie hall didn't have health issues from being so big, he coulda got a couple more wsm titles. For a time he was right there with big z. To me, Brian Shaw and Z are the 2 best. And of course Loz is a beauty too😁
By far the greatest, anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. My only slight disappointment is that we never got to see what he was truly capable of when pushed to the max. If the whole 500kg deadlift had been a thing when he was in his prime, I'd not bet against him rising to the challenge. If other guys had been capable of a 230 log, I'm sure he could have pushed to a 240 if he needed to. But the fact he didn't was why he lasted longer in the sport than anyone has, or probably ever will.
Winning major Strongman competitions is a far more objective measure of Strongman greatness than isolated records. You have to be strong in everything, and must not have a weakness to achieve those victories. Look for instance how Kieliskowski won 4 out of 6 events in the Arnold and still lost because he has 1 weakness, that is his deadlift. Titles don't forgive a chunk in the armor, records do, you can train hard for 1 event for years and might get it and might actually suck in other events. From that perspective I understand why Big Z didn't care about records as much.
It's a slight disappointment that we never got to see Eddie Hall push it to his limits... he was only 29 when he retired, if he stayed in strong man as long as big Z did he would have been the strongest there ever was probably, but we'll never find out.

Undoubtedly the GOAT in this sport. I've been saying this for nearly ten years now. Eddie Hall is no doubt a top contender and left a mark in strongman however He wasn't an elite level athlete to begin with. Just look at the times he never placed on the podium competing against some real Giants over many years. He had to grind away, eating up to nearly 20,000kcal a day and nearly destroying his family life and marriage in the process, all of which is documented and in the words of the great Andy Bolton (see his Facebook) he is physically broken and couldn't do it all over again. He pushed himself to an immense bodyweight of nearly 200kg (so around a 50kg increase) to finally get that title, which I don't think he could do again considering how far some of the other athletes have come along at present. On the other hand, Big Z eats between 3000-10,000kcal throughout the year or about 5000kcal on most days, his diet is healthy, he has a real life outside of strongman and enjoys himself; an epitome of some of the greats of the 90s era like Magnus Samuelson. Have an objective think and consider whose achievements are more impressive based on just the above. The one who pushed himself until he nearly killed himself being on the edge all the time, or the one who just took it in his stride relying on pure talent and smart training/eating. That's my understanding after watching and following the sport for around 25 years. You are, of course, entitled to your own opinions. My opinion, however, is that had Big Z pushed himself like some of the others then his status would be even more remarkable and distinct above the others.
Without a doubt Big Z is an absolute beast. He is definitely a natural strongman and he didn't have to push himself to the absolute limit. There's no way you can take anything away from Eddie though because he worked his ass off to reach his goals and he did. They're both very different but you can respect both of them and what they have achieved
The craziest thing is that he never went balls to the walls for a competition like Eddie did when he won worlds... Zydrunas carried his strength for years and years but he had the potential to be even stronger for a shorter period of time 😳

Regarding the inevitable comparison with Eddie, you should always compare lifts instead of titles (and Savickas still comes out on top, IMO). If a complete unknown increases all the WRs by 50% in a small sanctioned event and gets hit by a fast-moving sizable object next day, he will still go down in history as the strongest man ever, with zero WSMs and zero Arnolds. That said, the Big Z is probably the strongest man ever, certainly the greatest strongman to date, and it's a pity that he didn't have the likes of Shaw, Thor or Eddie to push him in his prime.
A strong case can be made for any of the top 3, including Big Z and Pudzianowski, but my favorite is Kazmaier, who was so dominant that he had to be excluded from WSM for four years to give others a chance.
