One of your problems might just be the power outlet. It's better for the xbox to have it's own wall outlet because it doesnt always have enough power to stay on when using an extension cord. Or you might just need to use a different wall outlet, that was the problem with mine.
So my Xbox keeps turning off but through out the day when I’m in my room you can hear the xbox turn it’s self on/off noise but won’t actually turn it self on does this happen to anybody as well??

After a month after this post I just opened up the power brick and saw it was fool of dust all over fan n electricals. After I cleaned it it seems to work for now.
It's either the HDMI cable or Power Brick, but it's most likely the power brick since it keeps turning off, if the power brick is damaged or dead, it's not going to be able to produce enough power to keep the Xbox on etc

Mine did the same, you have to open up your power box and completely remove all dust and disassemble the fan and clean that out as well. After I did that no more turn off's and my problem was resolved. See fan turns on automatically to cool the brick. If it cant turn cause its clogged or blocked then it shuts down as a fail safe. Saved me a lot of money but unscrewing the screws from power box was a B.....
Mine recently had similar issues, which includes that bullshit of it cutting off by itself. Long story short it was acting bipolar, hehe. After some "research" I got the bright idea to unplug the power supply, blow on it to get some of the dust out, and unplugging it also rebooted the console. Problem solved. (Hopefully for an extended period of time).
Anthony Shunnarah thank you lol, I just started playing Xbox again bc I have a new controller to use it with, and when it was updating, it started doing the same thing, this trick worked, I’ve been playing PS4 while I didn’t have a controller to use my Xbox with
This worked for me. I thought it was my power supply but it did this turn off thing on a new power brick after like a week. (It stopped acting up on the new power brick for a little bit) i put the Xbox on its own wall outlet and did the hair dryer thing and it’s working normal
Take it apart. Clean out all the dust. Put new thermal paste on the processor. It could fix the problem. If not then it could be a cap problem. If that fails then the old hair dryer trick could help. After that a reset.

I thought this was going to be a informational video of what to do about this not a 6 minute long video of someone doing the same thing I am doing. This just pissed me off even more..
Read all the comments on the video and the description. If I were to make a new video on this it would be 5 seconds long because it would be me saying “throw the Xbox away because there is no easy fix”
@@AwesomeFaceMan I managed to get mine to work. I had the power brick plugged in to the wall and I would plug it into the back of the xbox and unplug it and plug it back in about 5 to 7 times and it would start working better and then after a few times of it shutting itself off it would last longer each time then just keep working. Took about 15 minutes to get to start playing games but after I got it going it was good. Only thing is. You'll have to do that each time. Kinda like priming a lawn mower to get it to start.
Well I don't know about your problem. But why the hell would you set that thing on the carpet and run it? EVEN though it can be run on the carpet, why not just set it on the box it came in to keep it cool. That's what I do. I'd never set mine on the carpet. But I don't have this problem either. Electronics need to be kept cool, and everything is packed in their so tight that it makes every little bit help making the system last as long as possible.
Trusten Baker it doesnt stay on the carpet. I have a glass table for it. I put it down on the carpet just for the video. Thank you for the concern and solution though
My xbox turns on, makes a buzzing sound from the fan and turns off after 20-30 seconds, I can eject disks ect but it won’t boot up, I have had my xbox in pieces and cleaned all dust but still no luck. Any advice would be appreciated
Got done playing, went to sleep, woke up it was off. Tried turning it back on and it started doing this shit. I know what you're thinking, why did you leave it on, that's probably why it's screwing up. Here's the thing, It's been unplugged for a week and I was only asleep for an hour and a half. There's no difference weather or not I left it on, I could have been playing during that time than sleeping and it probably would have done the same thing regardless. So I have 2 options, 1 keep doing this method, 2 trade it in for an S
If you have tried all the common solutions like using a different outlet, changing the power supply, cleaning the system of dust. Then it is likely the system itself or a heating issue. Sometimes the thermal paste on the CPU of old consoles get dried up and don't work as well when brand new, causing it to overheat fast. Then the console turns off to keep it safe.
@@slyyyX yes you just have to turn it off and on for a bit and to stop it happening turn your xbox off by holding in your controllers power button and turning it off that way. If u turn it off straight from the plug it will make it do this
Hmm. If it turns on and off over and over maybe it could be a sensor issue? (Like the sensor on the front of the console to turn it on/off) but other than that I’m not sure why it would turn off AND on. That’s very strange. I’m sorry man.
WOW. this is happening to me too! It was turning on then off. It probably cost them around $20 to get the replacement part or whatever it is that's broken and they want to charge me 130..... mine was turning of for 10 to 15 seconds. Then id turn off on the xbox logo screen. Ya see the funny thing is I cleaned the power brick fan out. Then it worked for 2 days. Now I'm back at square one. It makes no sense.
Not gonna lie my xbox is broken. I haven't dropped it but have been playing it non stop since i got it a yr ago. I've started to have problems w it. Sometimes ill get no signal when its on, sometimes it'll cut off after like 20 seconds. Sometimes it stays on but gives me an error code e105, e101. It works when it wants to,Ive been able to get it to work off and on. I try unplugging it from the back when its on if that doesnt work ill combo that with holding the power button for 10 seconds, sometimes i try switching the ends of the hdmi cable. Long story short when these problems happen i think its time for a new xbox. It sucks but i think its the reality... ps. I dont have a power box so its not like thats the problem
You can try that. It could be the power sensor that’s broken, it could be the outlet, it could also be the power brick being broken or the whole Xbox just shitting out

I spent weeks watching Xbox tutorials to fix mine, 3 weeks later turns out i was putting games in my dvd play i put the Xbox upstairs 3 weeks ago ffs 🤷♂️🤦♂️
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bruh what
I just reconnected my controlled and while i was waiting for my xbox to turn off i spammed the konami code and it miraculously worked
Mine does the same thing, I think it's just because it's like 5 years old 😂, I'm sure it's just something with the power supply, try plugging it into your wall, not a power strip
Didn’t work
SAME
Does yours still do it? Lol anyway I think it’s because of water damage cuz mine does the exact same thing after a bit of water damage
It's because of overwatch!!!!!!!!!!! It's the only game I really play and it would shut off when I opened it. Blizzard, get your shit together.
Thank you so much man I tried everything and all I had to do was hatd reset it I thought my xbox was toast there not cheap I didnt think this was going to work and this is coming from a guy who has alot of bad luck but it worked again...thank you so much
Mine did the same, you have to open up your power box and completely remove all dust and disassemble the fan and clean that out as well. After I did that no more turn off's and my problem was resolved. See fan turns on automatically to cool the brick. If it cant turn cause its clogged or blocked then it shuts down as a fail safe. Saved me a lot of money but unscrewing the screws from power box was a B.....
Would a hair dryer work, if i put it near the holes of the xbox?
@@Caedyst no, blowing into the holes only pushes the dust and debris further into the electricals and fan as well
My xbox registers a second press of the power button
Mine recently had similar issues, which includes that bullshit of it cutting off by itself. Long story short it was acting bipolar, hehe. After some "research" I got the bright idea to unplug the power supply, blow on it to get some of the dust out, and unplugging it also rebooted the console. Problem solved. (Hopefully for an extended period of time).
Anthony Shunnarah thank you lol, I just started playing Xbox again bc I have a new controller to use it with, and when it was updating, it started doing the same thing, this trick worked, I’ve been playing PS4 while I didn’t have a controller to use my Xbox with
Lol that actually worked
Ur the fucking GOATTT!
I need help
@@Phantom-vy1zz You need to open it and clean out the dust. Then take off the heatsinks and put new thermal past on the main processor. th-cam.com/video/-SoMlzEDWRw/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/8OzCPRVEyrA/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/4Giij-QBssw/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/4mHWnNFZx-8/w-d-xo.html
@@boggy6060 thanks, my Xbox 1 is pretty old but I’ll watch the videos and see if I can fix it
@@Phantom-vy1zz also heat the board up with a heat gun on both sides mainly concentrating on the processor before you put the thermal paste on. Do the underside first ( 1 to 2 minutes ), then wait till it cools down... A hairdryer will work just as well. Then you need to flip it over and reflow the solder joints under the processor. The same procedure applies to all xboxes, playstations, laptops etc... You will also need to put some solder flux around the processor. Then heat it up for 2 to 3 minutes... Make sure that it cools right down. Make sure that the board is lieing on a flat surface and is NOT lieing at an angle before you attempt the reflow..... Also try another power supply first. It could actually be the power supply that is faulty.. Hope it helps.....

My Xbox power Brick light goes from white to yellow white to yellow etc.
It’s cuz the Xbox one (black version) is old and rusty
I have the exact same issue my xbox i was playing boardlands 2 and then it suddenly turned off while i was in the middle of it...i turned it back on and it said "something went wrong" i pressed reset or restart and when it finished it went onto the main menu screen and then it turned off again and ever since if i don't do anything for about 5 seconds it'll just turn straight back off and even if i log in or something sometimes it'll still turn off...idk whether it was some sort of update or something like that and it bugged out but whatever it is its screwed my xbox...i did look at a video saying to hold the disc eject button and another hidden button on the black part of the xbox then hold the power button for 15 to 20 seconds i did it for around 7 seconds and nothing happened...any way to fix it?
That's what happened to mine I had an update and when it finished it done something to my xbox and it will turn on with the wired controller but the controller wont come on and nothing shows on the screen
Thank you very much God bless you
It worked
My xbox turns on, makes a buzzing sound from the fan and turns off after 20-30 seconds, I can eject disks ect but it won’t boot up, I have had my xbox in pieces and cleaned all dust but still no luck. Any advice would be appreciated
Did you ever find a fix? Mines doing this as well
Me: Turns on xbox and thinks it will work
Xbox One: hmm this kid actually thought i would turn on haha
i love you now subscribing and liking all vids
It actually worked took a few tries thank you, don’t know how long it will last 🤣🤣
Bro mine won’t turn on it’ll turn on then off straight away??
This happening to me rn an i got a gift card to buy the battle pass -_- and a skin i really want
nevaeh love same
@Patrick McAllister everything channel it sure brainwashed me I got a new xbox now so I'm goooood
nevaeh love hahahahah
Got done playing, went to sleep, woke up it was off. Tried turning it back on and it started doing this shit. I know what you're thinking, why did you leave it on, that's probably why it's screwing up. Here's the thing, It's been unplugged for a week and I was only asleep for an hour and a half. There's no difference weather or not I left it on, I could have been playing during that time than sleeping and it probably would have done the same thing regardless. So I have 2 options, 1 keep doing this method, 2 trade it in for an S
ORIGINAL COMEDY don’t they only give like 50 for a one plus corona
Fabulous Results!💕💜💕💜💕 I thought I lost my Xbox but this really really helped me hats off to you 💗💕💗💕💖
Musa Talks lmfao
Same but mine only stays on for a sec
Leave his hands alone he’s just a kid my Lord
😢 thank you
Ok he is still human stfu💀
Mine turns off in about one minute after I turned on, then I turned on again for the second time and it stays on
If you have tried all the common solutions like using a different outlet, changing the power supply, cleaning the system of dust. Then it is likely the system itself or a heating issue. Sometimes the thermal paste on the CPU of old consoles get dried up and don't work as well when brand new, causing it to overheat fast. Then the console turns off to keep it safe.
Mine keeps doing this and I need it to record vids please help
did u fix it? currently having the same issue :(
@@slyyyX yes you just have to turn it off and on for a bit and to stop it happening turn your xbox off by holding in your controllers power button and turning it off that way. If u turn it off straight from the plug it will make it do this
Mine Turns On and off by itself and keeps on doing it over and over again. I cant even play a game
Hmm. If it turns on and off over and over maybe it could be a sensor issue? (Like the sensor on the front of the console to turn it on/off) but other than that I’m not sure why it would turn off AND on. That’s very strange. I’m sorry man.
@@AwesomeFaceMan it's fixed now but thanks anyway
@@xercist sorry I couldn’t really help. Glad it’s fixed tho!!
WOW. this is happening to me too! It was turning on then off. I did a hard reset and i was able to keep it on and download a software update. after i turned it off and wanted to play with it one day it's back to doing the same thing! I spoke to the corporate office and they said they won't fix it! they are so rude. my xbox just ran out of warrenty and they said i have to pay 130 to get it fixed. Mine you, this xbox I have is a refurbished one THEY SENT ME. BECAUSE my disc drive broke on my original one i baught new. It's ridiculous. I am never getting an xbox again. the customer service is so ridiculous and non sense. They don't care about their customers and they are just greedy. It probably cost them around $20 to get the replacement part or whatever it is that's broken and they want to charge me 130..... I'm not paying it and I am going to continue to try and speak to someone higher up in the corporate office. Let me know if you find out how to fix it. Since i'm going to have to do this myself. smh
Me to I am pissed I was playing Fortnite and then it just turned off
Kelsey Cabrera will do

Your hard drive is probably not plugged in all the way.
How would you do this for Xbox one s
The not so Real Spider-Man same thing m :3
I swear man Xbox has to be the most fragile console ever.
Omg u saved me bro thankss😌
Mine does the same thing but does not stay on as long it cuts off as soon as I hit the power botton
@@xanittyy2347 Get an N64 instead. 😊
If its not the power supply take it apart and clean it there might be a crap ton of dust inside it that or your harddrive could be corrupt
What do you do if the hard drive is corrupt?
@@JDees
Replace hard drive

Why not? It needs fixing
I know now why it's called an X box. No one can stand it for too long.
Switch the power cable to a difrent outlet should fix this. That is what I Did. And it fixed it.
OH MY GOD BRO THANK YOU SOOO MUCH IT WORKED
mine was turning of for 10 to 15 seconds. Then id turn off on the xbox logo screen. Ya see the funny thing is I cleaned the power brick fan out. Then it worked for 2 days. Now I'm back at square one. It makes no sense.
Mine did the exact same thing it work after I cleaned n fixed then it stopped working again
Right when i pre ordered divison 2 😭😭
@DEVLYN SPRENGER i fixed it just kept trying to turn it on till it actually stayed on goodluck bro hopefully yours still works

So hold disk opener and power button?
You can try that. It could be the power sensor that’s broken, it could be the outlet, it could also be the power brick being broken or the whole Xbox just shitting out
Awesome Face mine works well without the hard drive, but when the hard drive is plugged in it shows the Xbox logo and goes off. What could be the cause?
Yo it worked I’m not lying thanks
Let it sit a while then turn it back go to settings into Blu-ray and clear the storage or cache cant remember but I had to do it a couple years ago
I’ve left mine for 4 days it’s not working
I know right it's so hard to get over it you just keep pressing and just hope
Thx did it first try😁
Hiw do you do it
Mine don’t even go that far my Xbox powers on and dies instantly as the Xbox logo on the system lights up
I know this is a old video but how do u fix it
Lerma Liwanag I never found a fix. In fact it ended up never turning back on sadly. But I’ve heard from different people to use different outlets, use a new power brick or clean the dust off everything. Good luck
Try taking it off the carpet for starters
Mines doing the same
Darius Barnes well mine ended up just never turning back on. I would get rid of it as soon as you can and get a new one. Goodluck
Me too

This is happening to me, all I did was accidentally hit the power off twice
Mr. IronMan and that worked Cause I’m having the same problem
I believe you and I have the same problem I think I should get a new one because I had it for 5 years
KingRob Gaming I agree. Plus you can get a xbox one s for around $200 - $250 and it will last you till 2020 (next gen) which is why you dont need a xbox one x. Your decision tho.
KingRob Gaming same I've had mine for 5 years dude got it with the bundle
Me too and after this update, I would turn it on and it would just shut off. It was fine an hour ago but now it wont turn on
