    Congrats on your impending fatherhood. Waylon is going to have some pretty cool toys to play with and some awesome life skills to pass along to his kids. I am so thankful you put this video oul. I just had someone ask me for one of these and I was trying to figure out the offset/pocket allowance. I didnt know you could do it in the toolpath. I was trying to offset in the design and the letters with center pieces were coming out wonky. I wish more content creators would take the time to share the design process without talking for hours. I watched the design section 4-5 times and went and created it in V-Carve in just a few minutes. Thanks!!!

    Don’t forget to promote your food safe finish over those painted ones!
    You could add little magnets on the letters/pockets so it can be hung as a sign before/after the age they play with it. Or, double sided tape may be safer!

    G,day Ryan, Congratulations on your soon-to-be-born son Waylon, I'm not too sure if you should put a CNC project in his hand or a guitar, maybe both. Great video and it's a nice idea for the giveaway, But sadly it looks like it's only for the guys in the USA, Mate, I'm here in Australia and very new to the world of CNC. The CNC bits would be good to have if you want to send them to a Land Down Under. I used to be an Upholsterer for many years but had to give it up due to two lower back ops, ( ouch ) So while recovering from the ops, I was surfing the net and saw people doing CNC projects, which looked awesome. So I thought, I can do that. The adventure started, and I ended up building my own CNC. For someone with no electrical or mechanical/engineering knowledge, I managed to build a reasonable CNC with a working table space of 1200mm x 1000mm and it works very well. I watched and learned from different guys on TH-cam on how CNC machines are made. Whether you respond or not, Thank you for the great videos that you put on TH-cam. Kind regards, Michael

    Yea CNC videos. Congratulations on your announcement of your son. When you do the last pass (onion skin pass) do you change the cutter diameter so it removes an additional .005 ? It could assist in removing the lines from previous passes. Also plunge cut vs ramp cut what would be better?

    • @cutting-it-close
      @cutting-it-close  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I always ramp, and I don’t change the diameter, I just use an offset when I am doing the profile toolpath.
