Waylon’s going to have more CNC and business knowledge by the time he’s 10 then all my 30 plus years of woodworking. What a a privilege.
I can’t wait to teach him!
As a woodworker I love it, as a designer the kerning is killing me!
A future maker in the making! Waylon is sure to be inspired by your creativity. Congratulations, and may your family be blessed with endless happiness .
Love the look of these, and the way Waylon pops with the darker wood.
It seems that Waylon has a good DAD for making him these types of things. Great Job.
Congratulations on your impending fatherhood! The very best to you and your growing family! Give my best to Waylon when you see him!
Congrats on your impending fatherhood. Waylon is going to have some pretty cool toys to play with and some awesome life skills to pass along to his kids. I am so thankful you put this video oul. I just had someone ask me for one of these and I was trying to figure out the offset/pocket allowance. I didnt know you could do it in the toolpath. I was trying to offset in the design and the letters with center pieces were coming out wonky. I wish more content creators would take the time to share the design process without talking for hours. I watched the design section 4-5 times and went and created it in V-Carve in just a few minutes. Thanks!!!
Congratulations on your son. What a great video, and thanks for sharing it with all of us.
Your welcome! I hope it helps!
Congrats on the new baby! I’m sure Waylon will be out in the shop as soon as he can walk. Get some dust collection to protect both of you!
Congratulations on your son Waylon. I pray you have tons of fun with him thru the years to come. I know I have with all 4 of my sons, 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters!
That’s awesome! This is just the first step along the journey for sure
Great tips, great video & an even greater project/job!! Also Congrats on becoming a new dad as well, & I know he’ll soon (as quickly as time flys by nowadays) enjoy playing with that puzzle🧩 the most!
I wish you nothing but great things ahead! Take Care & God Bless!✌️
Congrats on the addition to your team! Love the name choice.
Don’t forget to promote your food safe finish over those painted ones!
You could add little magnets on the letters/pockets so it can be hung as a sign before/after the age they play with it. Or, double sided tape may be safer!
Yes, great ideas, thank you!
That's Awesome to be an expecting Dad Congrats!!!
I'm sure Waylon will enjoy his name puzzle
BTW Thanks for another Great Video!!!
Thanks again!
Congratulations on your son, Waylon. Thank you for sharing your video. I am new to the cnc world.
Welcome! And thank you for the kind words!
Congratulations to your family and especially to Waylon’s upcoming arrival. Great project idea. It makes a lot of sense to batch out some letters beforehand.
Thanks so much!
Geniales todos tus vídeos!! Muy interesante ver como optimizas los tiempos en los diferentes trabajos. Un abrazo desde Argentina!
Your design looks really wonderful... I can see that your processes are very meticulous and you try to make the whole process have a good finish. Congratulations for your job and you just gained one more subscriber to your channel...👍🧡
Waylon
I just started CNCing these are great tips
Thanks
Thank you for the presentation! I love your presentations with all the information and educational time you give us. Congratulations to you, your wife, and the rest of your family on your next son! Sending y'all warm thoughts and prayers!!!
So nice of you
Congratulations on your son. Question what oil are you using for the finish product. Thank You
I am just using food safe mineral oil!
Best of luck with the upcoming arrival of Waylon. Your life will never be the same, but better!
I am very excited! But nervous as well
G,day Ryan, Congratulations on your soon-to-be-born son Waylon, I'm not too sure if you should put a CNC project in his hand or a guitar, maybe both. Great video and it's a nice idea for the giveaway, But sadly it looks like it's only for the guys in the USA, Mate, I'm here in Australia and very new to the world of CNC. The CNC bits would be good to have if you want to send them to a Land Down Under. I used to be an Upholsterer for many years but had to give it up due to two lower back ops, ( ouch ) So while recovering from the ops, I was surfing the net and saw people doing CNC projects, which looked awesome. So I thought, I can do that. The adventure started, and I ended up building my own CNC. For someone with no electrical or mechanical/engineering knowledge, I managed to build a reasonable CNC with a working table space of 1200mm x 1000mm and it works very well. I watched and learned from different guys on TH-cam on how CNC machines are made. Whether you respond or not, Thank you for the great videos that you put on TH-cam. Kind regards, Michael
Congrats on your son Waylon. Thanks for the tip of the pocket allowance. Never noticed it before in the software.
I use it all the time! I use it with inlays all the time as well
Great video. Great name for future son. Congratulations to you and your wife.
Thank you!
Nice Job, Waylon is a great name. start saving email names. That's what I did for my kids.!
Congratulations with your son WAYLON. I understand your joy I have 6 kids forme 21 to 1 1/2 years old.
That’s my dream man! Lots of kids, it’s going to be fun!
Great project! Congrats on your son!
Congratulations on your first child! I have a question though....Why didn't you use a roundover bit to router the edges on the cnc table? Just wondering....
Great question! Because I had to router the backside of the maple with a router anyways, I didn’t feel like doing a tool change on the CNC to only router one side.
Yea CNC videos. Congratulations on your announcement of your son. When you do the last pass (onion skin pass) do you change the cutter diameter so it removes an additional .005 ? It could assist in removing the lines from previous passes. Also plunge cut vs ramp cut what would be better?
I always ramp, and I don’t change the diameter, I just use an offset when I am doing the profile toolpath.
Congratulations on the news of Waylon! Great format. Is the double sided tape tesa tape? Some well glued magnet to hold the letters in might be good?.Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much! And the link for the double sided tape is on the description :)
Congrats on your son Waylon. Great video
Thank you!
Congratulations on Waylon.
Thanks a lot for another great informative video, and congratulations on the upcoming blessing that Waylon is going to be in your life!!!
Thanks 👍
That is so sweet, Might work on the BAMX
Love the content! The giveaways are really cool too!
Good! I hope you win one of them!
Congrats on little Waylon! That’s exciting. Now, if you really want to raise his right, teach him to be a Sooner fan (no Aggie’s)! 😀. But seriously, I LOVE this project!
That’s a tall order, my boy will hopefully Bleed maroon for a long time! But if I had to have a 2nd choice it would be Oklahoma
Always enjoy your videos man! 👍
I appreciate that!
Great video as always and congrats on your son Waylon! I do appreciate you showing the whole process of this project from start to finish. Your success story has inspired me to want to get into the CNC world. I see you are using Aspire software. Is that a CNC modeling software you would recommend for first time users?
Yes, but I would start with V-Carve Pro
WAYLON - great and very interesting name. Congratulations! Great video(s)!
Thank you kindly
What a nice idea you gave me! Gonna test how it sells here locally for me. Thank you and thanks Waylon as well ;)
Have fun!
Greetings from Serbia again!
Great and beautiful item to make and sell!
Dear, I was wondering if you could do a video about cutting acrylic on CNC, and about differences compared to cutting wood...
Speeds and feeds, step down and step overs for wood and for acrylic, for the same size of bit...
Thanks in advance, and we all wait for the happy news...
I’ll get to work on that video!
@@cutting-it-close I am sorry, on one on my previous comments, you said you want to discuss some interesting things with me ... But I didn't really understand how should we do it...
I thought you send me some mobile phone number...so through watts up, or sms...
I'll be glad to make friends with you...
Greetings again from Serbia!
Congratulation on Waylon soon arrival.
Thank you very much!
Since this is as you say a "money maker" how many are you doing per day? What are you charging? Are the people your selling to individuals, groups, gift shops, instagram, facebook marketplace, google ads, your own website and which are the most useful.
I cover that in the video towards the end
And you already have the program for the letters?
What font did you use for this? I can't find on that the 1/4 dc can fit in all of the areas. Congrats on your son!
I designed the font myself so a 1/4 but can fit in all of the areas. Not trying to promo it, but I do have it on my website. I spent a lot of time designing that font just for that reason!
@@cutting-it-close I totally understand and will get it from your site. Thanks!
Ryan, love your content. Which CNC Machine are you using in this video?
Laguna IQ
@@cutting-it-close Thank You! I am considering getting another CNC machine. Currently, I have the CNC4newbies HSNC4896RP (work space: 48"x96")--I love it but I almost never use the entire workspace. I work out of my garage and move frequently (2-3yrs/Military).
What would you recommend?
- 5 years of [hobbyist] CNC experience
- Desire something just below industrial level and supports a small business
- work horse
Current setup:
- HSNC4896RP (DIY mobile base on casters **i know--its not sturdy)
- Demon Controller
- 2.2kw VFD spindle
Congrats on Waylon (in advance). What brand is your CNC in this video?
Laguna IQ
And Waylon is his name o… ;) Thanks for the inspiring videos!
You got it!
Wow, Waylon is already getting primo stuff!
What oil finish did you use thats kid safe?
Food grade mineral oil
Okay thanks
Hello. I trust you are well. What oil did you use?
food grade mineral oil
Great! And thats enough to seal it?@cutting-it-close
Works like a charm! @@CantBelieveEyes
From my experience with food grade mineral oil is that it takes a while to dry. How long do you guys typically let it dry for? I mostly use it on birch ply. @@cutting-it-close
Congrats on your son Waylon
Waylon....congrats! 🎉🍼👶
Thank you! Very excited!
Guess I missed this one. Good job’
Thank you Rob!
what is the depth you use for the eeg shell (IE 0.001 ?)
The thickness depends on material, but usually .03 inches
@@cutting-it-close
Thanks
Here's my problem. I can't seem to figure out why my cnc won't cut the right way. I have it all put in and I just can't get it to run other than a damn air trial
Wish I could get my cnc to work..
Congrats on having your first son Waylon! Awesome strong name from a hard working family is what makes our next generation stand out. Just glad you didn’t go with “Leaf” or some shit like that. lol
Same here, I can’t wait for him to be in the shop sanding and making stuff!
Waylon will take over dad's business in kindergarten, LOL
My grandsons name is Waylon. Good name. Congratulations.
Thank you!
feels like everyone is making name puzzles, in chairs, stools, tables etc
They’re lucrative right now!
Waylon is a great name... Makes me think of Waylon Jennings
Exactly, I’m trying to convince the wife to name the next two Willie and Hank. I want to call them the highwayman. Haha
New subie!🎉
Thanks for joining, I’ll have a video soon! What made you want to sub?
@@cutting-it-close I'm a South African, and this may be a great business oppertunity for me. Plus I love wood work, but have always been fearful to start. Your videos, content and transparency help me to overcome those fears
