  • Dr. Shivaram Prasad Singh graduated from Utkal University where he obtained his MBBS degree as well as MD in Internal Medicine and subsequently obtained DM from C.M.C., Vellore at Madras University, India. He is a Fellow of the Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India, a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, and a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. He has been honored with the Master, Indian Society of Gastroenterology. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edin, Glasgow, Ireland, Highlights of his career include the initiation of the World Hepatitis B Eradication Day in 2001 in India, which was later endorsed by WHO. He has been conferred “National Professor” by the Indian Medical Association College of GP. He is a Member of the Public Health Panel of the World Hepatitis Alliance [WHA] [2008 - 2011] and launched World Hepatitis Atlas in Geneva on 19 May 2008. He has remained in several leadership positions including, Secretary General of INASL [Indian National Association for the study of Liver]: 2009 -2015, Secretary General of SAASL [South Asian Association for Study of Liver]: 2009 -2015) and president of ISG [Indian Society of Gastroenterology]: 2012-2013. He is the recipient of many awards including the ISG S.R. Naik Memorial Award for Research Publications (2017), and the recipient of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology Zydus Oration [2016]. He is the current President-Elect of INASL [Indian National Association for the study of Liver]: 2021-23. He has published more than 160 Publications, and author of over 20 National Guideline/Consensus Papers (India) on various Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases of importance.
