I do hope a garden warfare 3 happens as unlikely as it is. I've grown a bit tired of the tower defence genre, especially since the art style seems to change with each new release. Pvz1 and Pvz Gw1 will always be special to me even if Pvz2 and Pvz Gw2 are better because of the art styles.
PVZ GW3 would've been the perfect trilogy but they went the dumb way and made BFN. BFN can be fun but its more of a side game made by a fan than a real PVZ GW.
Yeah I get what you mean - I'm still enjoying the tower defence PvZ's but I definitely miss the days of GW1/GW2 and even at the start of BfN, the shooter games were definitely special 😊 I hope in the future they're able to get a good team back together and maybe then a GW3 would be on the table but it just seems super unlikely in the current situation :/

What about the other games? PvZ BfN: Zombies has more playable characters than plants. PvZ Heroes: 4 missing plant heroes. 4 missing zombie heroes. PvZ3: Can't download worldwide. I'm so happy that PopCap returns and PopCap was my childhood memories and my old laptop has lots of old PopCap games and this is the best Christmas Gift ever! Edit: If Popcap announce PvZ GW3, that would be great!
If they do make gw3, they should definitely lift individual variant leveling, or at least lower it to like, idk, 30 levels per character. Leveling each variant to 50 takes VERY LONG, and to do that with over 100 of them takes ages. Not to mention you still have to unlock legendary variants mid-leveling, which takes the grind to a whole other degree of boring and forced. and also make special characters not count towards online ranking because unicorn chomper rarely appears in town hall

so after playing games recently I actually prefer bfn’s everything about the characters the damage is better there better heals the ttk is faster. The only thing gw2 has going for it is a better roster of characters and the best ops/ turf takeover gamemodes. Oh and the crazy space with the cat and trike
i love pvz heroes and i still play it but im really upset that its not getting updates and that they dont care about their game anymore. it got to the point where i started to make my own version of the game just for the sake of it (yea i am actually doing this but i gotta learn coding)

Giving them a good amount of time won't be enought if the game ended up being garbage anyway. If they don't learn anything from both Gw2 and Bfn and instead repeat their mistakes, then Gw3 will be pointless.

I'm pretty sure the reason they actually made different games was because money and I'm pretty sure Plants vs Zombies 2 is bringing in the most money so if that continues bringing in the most money they're not going to work on a different shooter game
Everyone is wishing for gw3. Well, I am, too, but it would be nice if they would update pvz1 on Steam like they do the mobile port, like allowing the game to support higher resolutions.
If there ever is a gw3 or bfn 2 or something like that, i think they should keep some of the class changes from bfn like making scientist more support based rather than gw2 scientist who just shotguns everyone to death in like 3 hits, but remove stuff like steam blaster and brainium basher cause they are just way too overpowered, or at least balance them i think the upgrade system from bfn should have more depth but i do think there should be some variants like gw2 but not the amount that there was in gw2 cause tbh a lot of them barely functioned different from their stock counterpart, like the many fire, ice electric variants who you'd literally play the same role as stock just having a little bonus and calling that an entirely different character. That shouldn't be a thing, instead i think they should go for kinda like subclass roles like in tf2 where you can have demoman who shoots explosives and stickies who is more for crowd control and defense work but you also have demoknight who is much more of a single target based attack work so i think they should kinda take inspiration from that and the variants should be given their own part of the bfn upgrade system to allow more nuanced changes, in my opinion that is the perfect formula and i think BFN being written off as a mistake is kinda stupid if you look past the lacking of variants and to a lot of the good changes that bfn has over gw2, like making sniper classes feel more like snipers with their charged up scope for example
