- I screwed up my return to CGC Grading, hoping to turn my 9.5 graded slabs into Gem Mint 10 slabs, and now I can only be mad at myself!
CGC Grading changed their label again this past year, so I sent in four cards to get new labels: Rookie cards of Nikola Jokic, Evan Longoria and Chris Paul, along with a non-rookie card of Miami Dolphins great Bob Griese.

I think we've all had moments like that. Keep your head up. You live, you learn.
Thanks my friend!
Yep I did the same thing, it was only for the green labels. I did it with 9 cards. They all came back 9.5 except I had one green label 9.5 and it came back a 10.
Ugh, I’d like a redo! Haha
At the end of the day those are still some sweet cards that look great in your collection. You win some and you lose some, so good luck will be with you soon.
Very true, I love the look of those Joker and Longo slabs now.
Darn that fine print! It’ll get ya every time!
Right!?!?! Gets me every time! Haha
Oh man, tough luck, David. Admittedly, I’m very unfamiliar with CGC, but 2 “levels” of 9.5 seems very confusing. Don’t sweat it, buddy.
RIGHT!?!?!!?!!!????!?!!!??? Even on their page, they only show one 9.5, but they mention the two differences. Very confusing. NOT COOL! Hahaha
Don't beat yourself up David. At least it was only four cards.
I have to admit, I believe that Griese would look so much better in a tuxedo. But that's just my opinion concerning older cards.

I think you’re absolutely right. It was back in my experimenting days, trying to see which cards I liked in which slabs - originally it had a green slab! That Jokic card is one I might end up sending to SGC at some point. Stephen, are you a Bob Griese fan?
I always had tremendous respect for any of the '72 Dolphins. That team went 14-0 in regular season and steamrolled through playoffs and Super Bowl to finish 17-0. Dolphins were stacked on offense with Griese at QB, Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris, Paul Warfield WR not to mention HC Don Shula.
Myself growing up a Bears fan in that era we fans suffered through some really bad teams and QB play 😅
During that time Bears had The lefty Bobby Douglas at QB. He threw so hard most passes weren't catchable. Looking back maybe he should have been a pitcher.
@@Gampagnolo Oh man, those Bears teams -- well, at least the next decade brought you some happiness, outside of that one MNF game against those Dolphins. I was born in '71, so I only really remember the Cowboys/Steelers from that '70s decade, but I love old sitcoms, and on The Bob Newhart Show, he was a psychiatrist in Chicago, and he would randomly talk about Chicago sports, usually the Bulls or the Blackhawks, but he would make some Bears references. That's all I got, hahaha!
Bummer on this, but it happens and i guess at least they have the most recent label which hopefully they wont switch again lol
Oh man, if they switch again, I’m done. Haha the next slab these guys see would be in an SGC tux.
Too bad on the grades...but at least you can see it as getting new and upgraded slabs!
Yeah, I just feel bad that I might've steered other people the wrong way. The slabs definitely look better! Thanks, Brent!
@DavidGonos you're doing your best to help the community, that's all we can ask for! Besides, it's their own fault for making two different 9.5 grades!
Tuff luck. Not really much damage the way I see it. Only 2 were sent for the “10’s”. Happens to the best of us!
Yeah, but I could’ve spent that money on something fun! Then again, the Joker and Longo cards look soooooo much better in these new labels. Thanks buddy!
