I can't believe they got rid of the mohawk so soon, but her magically Sailor Storm growing out her hair & then manifesting her iconic tiara shows that she's claiming her supernatural heritage. They even showed Forge's shamanic power (I mean I thought they'd just keep it simple & keep him as the science guy). Literally a shamanic journey for both (& with Xavier as well), with Forge letting go of logical Western "science" to rely on the age-old wisdom of his mother & use faith to help his friend, Ororo accepting her past (her original 70s outfit), defeating her demons ("What are demons but reflections of our fears & shame") to let her move towards the future. In the last episode of season 5 (Graduation Day) of X-Men the animated series, Lilandra came and saved prof X. As her ship left, Magneto and the X-Men are all lined up outside and the words “To Be Continued” pops up. In X-Men 97 episode 1 they hint that the world thinks Prof X died. But the X-Men know he’s alive with the Shi’ar.
Forge's machine actually worked! It is Storm's belief in the "lie" that prevented her powers from manifesting after she was healed. Also, as somebody who comes from a country that was colonized for more than 300 years, Xavier's lecture hit hard.
Charles was alive when he left Earth. Considering the very public attack on him and that it revealed he was a mutant to the world, there were likely many questions about his fate. Telling the world he died makes sense, especially if it helped improve human/mutant relations. Charles may have even instructed them to do so. The X-Men didn't know about his will or that he left everything to Magneto. But, I think Magneto knows what really happened. He's implied that he's doing what Xavier requested of him. This is very much in line with what happened in the comics. Xavier was with the Shiar for a very long time.
I don’t believe they think Charles is dead, cause they were all there when the Shi’ar took him to try to save his life. That’s why the X-men always say “with the professor GONE”, they never say dead. I think in earth they just made it look like he died cause they don’t know if he’s coming back, probably they don’t even know he’s already saved. So for them it must be a wait and see situation.
Storm's costume is her OG costume & look, per Dave Cockrum, July 1975. The exact style in the show seems like John Byrne's famous renditions of it/her.

Everything about this episode was fantastic. The focus on relationships just like the last episode was interesting. Storm returning with her powers is wild and the focus on the Shiar empire is wild. But yes on the Graduation Day episode, everyone knew he would still be around just not to the fact if he would survive. Episode 1 of this season declared him dead to the public.

Gladiator was pretty cool with how fast he stepped in to protect Lilandra,and seeing Vulcan was awesome. But the Class in session moment with Xavier was pretty awesome.

So much happened in this episode the advisory oh my goodness was freaking me out, the writing has been chef's kiss im so emotionally invested in what is happening im glad Charles is back and the queen herself ⚡, i feel just as sinister said all of this might just be the beginning
Wow I mean wow this episode was amazing from Storm conquering her demons to ascend to and gain her powers back and not only did she get them back but now she's probably back to omega level and then why am I not surprised that Xavier is still alive and fortunately and unfortunately Charles felt what happened back on earth and I'm surprised that Magneto didn't pop up when He felt Gambit's death but knowing him he felt everything and it literally hit him like ton of bricks. And I also loved it when Charles took them to school that was funny lol. Awesome reaction you two and I'm glad y'all saw the Watcher in the last episode so we know he still has a part to play in this maybe
God I missed Charles Xavier! He is proof that the world needs good teachers to sustain times of peace. I wish that growing up, my teachers in school were just as compassionate and smart as Xavier.
The X-Men will probably be surprised to see Charles but they and Magneto all knew that he went with the Shi'ar to be healed. They may not know if he survived but they at least know there was a decent chance that he did. I think they went with the cover story that he died from the attack because they weren't sure he'd ever come back, it was an easier explanation than what actually happened, and it made him a martyr to the mutant cause. Hope this helps!
I mean... u can just add part one to the end of this weeks episode and, amazingly there's no spoilers or continuity breaks. It's just a cliffhanger the way comics make sure you buy next weeks.
I hope we don't do any time travel schenanigans to undo Gambit's death it was so meaningful and powerful. I think that this episode reinforces my thought that they'll keep him dead and bring him back next season or the following as Death Horseman of the Apocalypse. The X-Men know Charles didn't DIE per say but there was a high chance of it. In the final episode of the OG show they used his psychic abilities to call Illandra to come take him away so the Shi'ar medics could hopefully heal him. They just don't know what happen after that.

I was not surprised that Xavier was alive. Being an x men fan I have read the comics. He did leave to join the shiar and marry into them. He does return to have the xmen join them. That ofcourse leads to the brood storyline and carols birth of bianary.

Xavier’s return will be welcomed. If you recall the season 5 finale the X-Men asked if he would be able to return and were told probably not. The humans will be the ones that will be perplexed and accusational hence the creation ok Krakoa later in the comics. Great episode!!
The coffin lowering in the first X-men 97 trailer probably belonged to Gambit. Everyone thought it was Charles. I hope my boy gets a heartfelt send-off considering what this series put him thru
Forge's machine worked!!!!! It was Storm keeping her power from coming back. The mind affected the body! And also the Adversary feeding her more doubt to feed off her misery. And Forge is Native-American and I think his mother was a Shaman, hence the book of magic. I think he's also magically inclined to an extent due to his lineage allowing him to see The Adversary haunting Storm and feeding off her misery, preventing her from rejuvenating her x-gene. I feel like she unlocked her mystical ancestry in the process, hence the transformation.
Did you notice there was a member of the D'Bari race in the crowd n Chandilar? Only in the original series, the D'Bari star system was uninhabited unlike in the comics, so I guess that race has a different name and planet of origin here.

For context about charles "faking" his death, watch graduation day, the series finale of the original series. They were all there that day, including morph. It's implied that it was most likely a team agreement, excluding charles, to let the world think charles was dead to protect him.
In the final episode of season 5 (the final episode of the original series) Charles was mortally injured in an attack. Magneto was convinced by the X-Men to visit Charles and amplify his telepathy so it can reach Lilandra, as only Shi-ar technology was able to heal him. Without it, he’d die. Magneto has to choose between visiting Charles and his long-planned mutant uprising. He chooses to visit Charles, and they are able to contact Lilandra. Lilandra is able to save Charles from dying, but states without Shi-ar care, he would surely die, so she takes him into space with her. The X-Men in 97 have told the press that he died, rather than say he was taken to space by an alien. They all know he’s in space, and that he may have indeed passed. They aren’t sure.
I'm super glad Storm is back and now she's embraced her Omega level. I'm not sure about Xavier's return though, I think there's going to a splintering amongst the Xmen. A great show!!! I can't wait til next Wednesday.

I had such a fear that Disney would screw it up with how they have been doing with Marvel movies and shows as of late. This has been just a beautiful ride! And they have been already green lighted for Season 3

Yeah, my only 'complaint' (and bear in mind, I'm fine with how they did Motendo/Lifedeath Pt 1) is that they kinda fooled us with the title here being only Lifedeath Pt 2. They pretty much did the same thing here as they did with the Mojo episode, except they just cut between the two stories.
Be careful because ppl who have read a lot of X-Men comics are trying to spoil what comes next. I know some plot lines that I think this show is doing but I’m trying to say very little about them
Am I the only one that is wondering... was that 'vision' of Gambit that Charles saw him seeing the 'death of the children of the atom' or foreshadowing to Gambit becoming Apocalypses Horseman "Death" . That could be the way they bring him back. He becomes Death and in s2 they have to 'save' him to bring him back.
They know Prof X was very sick. They did not think he was dead. Llandra told them Charles going with her is the only way for him to possibly make it. You need to re-watch the original series finale again.

I love this show. It wasn’t anything that I expected. Once I saw Charles went off with Lilandra(sp) I knew he wasn’t dead! If he went off with Moira (Miur Island?), then he would’ve been dead & his mind would be put in someone else. I would’ve hoped a clone. I didn’t expect sinister to be behind all this either!
What an incredible episode and Storms rebirth is spectacular in this latest episode. Her arc parallels to Rocky in a way where it's about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward. Her speech "What are demons but reflections of our fears and shame. Things we bury within us, hide from loves ones even as they poison our hearts... until we finally heal our adversary by embracing it. That's like Shakespeare's dialogue. Then Xavier's monologue as he senses Gambit's death so powerful. Then the entrance of the Shi'ar with Deathbird, Gladiator attacking Ronan and his forces where we see the original Mar-vell cameo is awesome. The story is a continuation of "Graduation day" with Lilandra using Shi'ar technology to save him. If you watch the opening credits carefully you see events from One Mans Measure, X-Factor, The trial of Jean Grey, The Phoenix Force, Lazarus Rising Beyond Good and Evil. The journey with Storm as she goes through her metamorphosis taking flight mirrored Superman in Man of Steel as he takes his first flight giving a cinematic vibe to it. Ross Marquand who voices Xavier sounds more like Cedric Smith in this episode with his exposition as he talks to Lilandra.
I don’t think people understand that depending on what multiverse, Storm is considered a Goddess. How much of Storm’s powers come from her being a Goddess and how much comes from her being a mutant is unknown🤷🏾♂️!

The X-Men know Charles didn't DIE per say but there was a high chance of it. In the final episode of the OG show they used his psychic abilities to call Illandra to come take him away so the Shi'ar medics could hopefully heal him. They just don't know what happen after that.
Time travel is a consistent part of the X-Men comic books, so you may be disappointed.

@@Killm33 But most of their stories involve preventing something (which Cable tried to do) not altering events that already took place in the "main timeline". Or we go to their future and spend time there. I don't want them to undo the events of Genosia cause it means things have stakes.

I was not surprised that Xavier was alive. Being an x men fan I have read the comics. He did leave to join the shiar and marry into them. He does return to have the xmen join them. That ofcourse leads to the brood storyline and carols birth of bianary.
Definitely wondering if some of the X-Men are going to leave to become Avengers after the events of the finale. They're definitely heading towards a Schism of some sort. Anyone else pumped/hoping to see diamond Emma next week?

Xavier’s return will be welcomed. If you recall the season 5 finale the X-Men asked if he would be able to return and were told probably not. The humans will be the ones that will be perplexed and accusational hence the creation ok Krakoa later in the comics. Great episode!!

Forge's machine worked!!!!! It was Storm keeping her power from coming back. The mind affected the body! And also the Adversary feeding her more doubt to feed off her misery.
And Forge is Native-American and I think his mother was a Shaman, hence the book of magic. I think he's also magically inclined to an extent due to his lineage allowing him to see The Adversary haunting Storm and feeding off her misery, preventing her from rejuvenating her x-gene. I feel like she unlocked her mystical ancestry in the process, hence the transformation.
Did you notice there was a member of the D'Bari race in the crowd n Chandilar? Only in the original series, the D'Bari star system was uninhabited unlike in the comics, so I guess that race has a different name and planet of origin here.

For context about charles "faking" his death, watch graduation day, the series finale of the original series. They were all there that day, including morph. It's implied that it was most likely a team agreement, excluding charles, to let the world think charles was dead to protect him.
In the final episode of season 5 (the final episode of the original series) Charles was mortally injured in an attack.
Magneto was convinced by the X-Men to visit Charles and amplify his telepathy so it can reach Lilandra, as only Shi-ar technology was able to heal him. Without it, he’d die.
Magneto has to choose between visiting Charles and his long-planned mutant uprising. He chooses to visit Charles, and they are able to contact Lilandra.
Lilandra is able to save Charles from dying, but states without Shi-ar care, he would surely die, so she takes him into space with her.
The X-Men in 97 have told the press that he died, rather than say he was taken to space by an alien. They all know he’s in space, and that he may have indeed passed. They aren’t sure.
I'm super glad Storm is back and now she's embraced her Omega level. I'm not sure about Xavier's return though, I think there's going to a splintering amongst the Xmen. A great show!!! I can't wait til next Wednesday.

The story follows the last episode of the original series. They weren't certain if the Shiar would be able to succeed in curing him.
In the original series the Shiar were the only ones that could save Charles from dying but rather than tell the whole world he was taken by aliens they thought it was easier just to tell everyone he died.
I had such a fear that Disney would screw it up with how they have been doing with Marvel movies and shows as of late. This has been just a beautiful ride! And they have been already green lighted for Season 3

Yeah, my only 'complaint' (and bear in mind, I'm fine with how they did Motendo/Lifedeath Pt 1) is that they kinda fooled us with the title here being only Lifedeath Pt 2. They pretty much did the same thing here as they did with the Mojo episode, except they just cut between the two stories.
Be careful because ppl who have read a lot of X-Men comics are trying to spoil what comes next. I know some plot lines that I think this show is doing but I’m trying to say very little about them
Am I the only one that is wondering... was that 'vision' of Gambit that Charles saw him seeing the 'death of the children of the atom' or foreshadowing to Gambit becoming Apocalypses Horseman "Death" . That could be the way they bring him back. He becomes Death and in s2 they have to 'save' him to bring him back.
The public thinks he's dead , the X-Men know he's been taken away to be healed.

I love this show. It wasn’t anything that I expected. Once I saw Charles went off with Lilandra(sp) I knew he wasn’t dead! If he went off with Moira (Miur Island?), then he would’ve been dead & his mind would be put in someone else. I would’ve hoped a clone. I didn’t expect sinister to be behind all this either!

What an incredible episode and Storms rebirth is spectacular in this latest episode. Her arc parallels to Rocky in a way where it's about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward. Her speech "What are demons but reflections of our fears and shame. Things we bury within us, hide from loves ones even as they poison our hearts... until we finally heal our adversary by embracing it. That's like Shakespeare's dialogue. Then Xavier's monologue as he senses Gambit's death so powerful. Then the entrance of the Shi'ar with Deathbird, Gladiator attacking Ronan and his forces where we see the original Mar-vell cameo is awesome. The story is a continuation of "Graduation day" with Lilandra using Shi'ar technology to save him. If you watch the opening credits carefully you see events from One Mans Measure, X-Factor, The trial of Jean Grey, The Phoenix Force, Lazarus Rising Beyond Good and Evil. The journey with Storm as she goes through her metamorphosis taking flight mirrored Superman in Man of Steel as he takes his first flight giving a cinematic vibe to it. Ross Marquand who voices Xavier sounds more like Cedric Smith in this episode with his exposition as he talks to Lilandra.
I don’t think people understand that depending on what multiverse, Storm is considered a Goddess. How much of Storm’s powers come from her being a Goddess and how much comes from her being a mutant is unknown🤷🏾♂️!
