I'm really surprised all these journalists are still reporting this bike to have a 373cc engine when you can see right on the cylinder barrel in this video that it's been bumped up to 398 cc. I realize KTM hasn't released the specs but come on open your eyes guys.
Cruise control in this segment of bikes is huge. I feel like manufacturers and riders alike would benefit if adding this feature became more commonplace.
The O2 sensor location and the exposed cat you can see in the shots is a bit worrying. Not because of the heat, but becuse it'll be fairly easy to rip the sensor off if you drop it on the right side.
This and bikes like this have been what ive been looking for the last couple years, happy i waited, definitely going to be looking forward to a review on it
As a current 390 Adv owner, this one is much better looking. But mine is still putting a smile on my face every time I ride it so I won't be taking the wallet-smackdown to upgrade.
Almost perfect, for me it really missed the mark on the low slung exhaust. Water crossings would be nerve racking, hopefully aftermarket companies make high slung exhaust options.
@@TROXXOSregardless of it happening or not, an underslung exhaust is a sport bike thing. Anything that has any kind of off road aspiration should have a high side exhaust.
@@cmpmendes yeah real offroad focused bikes have high exhaust but this bike has road bike engine and exhaust pipe goes under the engine. I understand some people prefer the look of high exhaust but low exhaust actually makes sense in functional aspect I think.
if it creeps into the +8.000 price wise it wont be a good deal. the suzuki will be a couple of grands cheaper and prolly better for the money. Also i like the drz better. great job, keep em coming
Gotta take your ratings and have a good laugh honestly. What does it need to get 5 starts? Performance is close to what an A2 allows, its the most feature loaded in this category and it looks hardcore! What you want, which is not going to happen, is a 100hp bike with brembo/pirelli type components, sub 160kg and ducati styling at the price of a chinese bike!
I mean as a 1 cylinder Adventure bike it could be at least 10kgs lighter tbh if the 189kgs I heard are correct. I mean the new Suzuki DRZ is only like 150kgs. And also the exhaust is probably a bit low for adventure riding. But besides that it definitely looks promising 👍🏼 Let's wait what the final specs will look like
@@jesseneuber4438 The DRZ is a poor comparison though, it's less powerful and is more dirt than adventure, doesn't even have a 6th gear. I suppose it's down to what you want, hardcore offroad vs a mix of on and off road.
@@adr2567 it's both 400cc 1 Cylinder less powerful doesn't mean much lighter. Missing 6th gear, yes ok. I just think all this things that make the KTM an adventure bike unlike the Enduro DRZ should not add up to almost 40kg. Especially as a Adventure bike it should be as light as possible in my opinion. So if you want to have the full 48hp -> 175kg. The F450 GS Concept is also supposed to weigh under 180kg and that thing even has a 2 Cylinder. Like I said otherwise it looks really really promising and cool I'm just genuinely wondering where all this weight is coming from 😅
Off road focused adv bikes need to be able to do water crossings and that exhaust looks like a deal breaker for us in the western U.S. where crossing streams is common place.
Now that they are doing this for the 390 ADV I hope they come out with the 390 SMT, similar to what they did with the 890 SMT. I will be the first in line at my local KTM dealer to order one lol.
Love the 390r I must have one bueatiful bike, perfect, size and pover and features, I want to see more detail on the tft display and functions , and its top speed, and if it is a 6 speed I'm very excited for this bike looks like exactly what in looking for!
Why give under belly exaust in a adv water crossing will be a major issue ik it the intake is good all that no worries also to cut down weight but why take risk
It looks pretty off-roady to me Bob. Get an exc if you want to ride single trail. I recon it will do everything else. As long as it’s not too expensive it’ll probably sell well👍
I like the enduro better than the adventur, To much clutter up front. I have a dealer near me, it's about time to ditch the DRZ and im not impressed with the new one. will be taking a good hard look at this
😂 my first question too, currently watching it doing light trail riding on my trusty 1190r in Wales and stalled my bike few times in a deep puddle you get on pretty much all starts to Welsh green lanes this exhaust looks wierd but what do I know lol 😮😮😂😮
A sport bike with a loud exhaust. Regardless of who is doing the reviews, if it ain't sporty with high power and low weight, it always misses the mark.
I guess with out spec and price it's basically still a concept bike. Price, weight, seat height, fuel capacity all unknown and I guess as and when KTM finish it (if they are still in business after this years horrendous sales numbers) the spec of the bike could be quite different to what's being shown here at the show.
Ok on my 1190 adv , the side exhaust can break your leg if the bike fall on you or just burn you. Another reason is the luggage racks have to be awkwardly pushed out so the bike looks completely asymmetrical from the rear. Under exhaust allow for more narrow profile riding off-road on single track between trees etc. under exhaust are better and use less piping. Drowning the exhaust in water would be extremely rare scenario

@@jonasbaine3538 It is clear that it was made to reduce both the weight and cost of the motorcycle. I don't think they thought about your safety.

The styling on that 390 Adventure R is cracking! Such a great looking bike.
I love how many small bikes are coming out lately, and they are all to a high standard
The new one will have 398 not 373
This is what I was thinking ADV and Duke have different engines currently.
Yeah, literally says it on the engine case.
I actually saw somewhere it was 399, but what is 1cc difference right.
This one also according to another review on Tec has cruise control.

They also spew the HP and torque from the prev motor totally different on this one
4 stars on styling for me, the new front and low exhaust improves the styling drastically compared to previous KTM's.

Yea man. I might lean to this bike just for that. Throttle wrist is real on long trips.

Ktm listening to us 390 folks finally. Just scared the supermoto just killed off the duke

curious how much they changed form the 390 adventure. it had really bad peg positioning tilting your feet and body forward.
Between this and CF Moto 450 MT. I'd go for the latter.

Looking perfect . Exactly what we all been waiting for . Now Honda take engine from CB500 and build proper adventure bike under 185/190kg

Endro looks like a scaled down 690 Endro R
It's right on the power/weight ratio allowed for A2, the Suzuki has less power so can be lighter.
Cool! Is the 390 Adv R tubeless?
I was wondering the same thing. I haven’t seen one review that says they are. Would have been nice if they were tubeless especially at 400lbs
nope..
7000 is as far as it could go, taking in consideration the price and specs of the 450 mt
any info for weight?
Is it tubeless tires?
That oxy sensor will get ript out first tree snag it hits
Wrong about the specs there a little bit. LC4c engine produces more power and is higher capacity
Low exhaust on an ADV bike not too good, missing a piston and 50cc.
Wright and seat high ?
How big is the Fuel tank capacity ?
No real numbers but likely about 17L
how much does this pleasure cost?
The exhaust is way low? Forget river crossings......Apart from that the bike looks phenomenal.
