That's why living cost and purchasing power matters. Not just salary numbers! I earn 24 lakhs per year (much lower than 1.5 crore in USA), and certainly enjoy my life to the fullest !! Mere pass gadi hai, bungla hai, bank balance hai, aur maa bhi hai !!🎉🎉🎉 !!!
I rejected just in October a 195k package. Because once you leave India, with 2 kids you dont have the same support system as its not cost effective. So second income becomes tough. Having said that when you leave India and move to any countru you must compare Purchasing Power Patrity. Rather than conversion. My wife and myself work in India, that too in a Banking Industry and we save significantly. We have 2 long trips, one in India and another abroad, that too with 2 kids. Hence, before moving you should look at what stage of life you are moving and whats your priorities.
If you have rejected 195k then your combined salary in India should be more than 55L+ .. it makes sense as you would continue to grow in career and earn more. Young kids would face challenge in adjusting to schools, spouse has to take more time off to manage ... it would be ideal to be bachelor or just married in US for few years and even work before kids go to middle school .. you get more experience, culture, a change but India is developing super fast in the last few years, so living in large city and in gated community would be better.
Ur starting salary is 195k while ur matured salary in India is what u compare with. The exposure and experience is something u will never get it in India.
I think you missed out on an opportunity of international exposure for you both and kids.. but you must have made decision after lot of thinking. Situation is different for different people.
I lived in US between 2004-2019. It’s a very expensive place to live in. You can save so much more by living in India and get cheap help too. Also people are more connected and caring here.
Being a freelance Software Engineer, I never liked to go abroad for more money. I am very happy and satisfied in India. I know well the conditions in misery. I mean in social terms not in economic term. Why not Americans want to settle in India for cheap expences ? I proud to be an Indian, proud to live here and want to die here in presence of my family and friends. I love my India.
Whenever people talk abt earning in a foreign country, please know that unless you bring that USD and convert to INR it is of absolutely no use. If you don't convert that USD, then 15 LPA and above in India is a very good number to enjoy life along with your family !!

I travelled through US last month, i was there for about a month. Met so many of my classmates. I found one thing very common . Mostly people feel isolated, scared. Everyone has a long career to complete till 62-63 and already very sick and tired. About expenses, anything above 10/15 dollars kicks in alarm. A 100 dollar bill is very pricey.

The best thing I find about this video is both of them are so humble and grounded and talk about reality instead of just hyping about their lifestyle. Otherwise Indians living in US think they are the king of the world and always demean India.
I am Indian and reside in Vienna. After doing my BSc from Delhi University, I entered in Vienna University, and did MBA and PhD, and free of cost. Rather I got a scholarship 6000 Shillings. Here earnings are not like USA, but safe and secured blessed with protection from state. Labour in Europe is also not cheap. Around 15 dollars an hour for unskilled worker

The one question I asked is ki unke ghar pe maid aati hai ya khud karna padta hai.:D ::D.. In india may be salaries definately utni nhi hai but we live very comfortably.. 2nd jin logo ko 10 saal se upar ho gya hai job karte, itne me ye samjh aa gya hoga ki job se koi bhi aadmi amir nhi hua aaj tak.. Either you should have your business or You have good knowledge of investments. So investment point of view se india is growing country, it has potential to may be 10X your savings in coming 2-3 decades. So my advice to young people is,, don't blame anyone if you are not able to go to US by any reason. Just work hard, work smart and Invest smartly. And trust me India me reh ke bhi sabhi wishes poori ho sakti hain !!
Then 7 to 7 5 lakh expenses. Which leave 1 to 1.5 lakh saving. Which is accurate. Roughly $1,000 to 2,000 saved per month. If you can save that much in India or other neighboring countries, its not worth it to move to US. You sacrifice a lot, when you move.
There is one benefit of being an Indian in America, which no one talks about is that if you got fired from your job or become jobless, for some reason or other, you can always come back to your home country and live with your parents or at least have a roof over your head, but this is not same with the people born in America because if their job is lost or they’re not rich, they will have to move onto street and live a life of homeless

Biggest difference in US and India is basic services ( Emergency, fire, police and roads). In India doesn't matter how much you earn you can’t get these services.
Hi, I chosed Ireland over US considering below points.. not sure if i made correct decision. ..(!= Canada != extreme snow undoable) 1. I want to experience abroad. 2. I dont want constant visa issues, and wanna stay close to family (Parents) like 9 hour flight or 12 hour flight 3. I dont want to consume 2 years in masters, want to get back to work asap. 4. I wish to move back to India after certain time period.
If you don't want to consume 2 years in masters, you can't find a well paying job. The best you can do is come to USA on a L-1 visa as an IT professional if you already work for Cognizant, Infosys, etc. - these companies will pay you maybe 50% of what you will get for the same job if you work directly for a US employer. But your Indian degree will not help you get a direct H-1B visa job from a US employer. Compound that 50% haircut over 35 years, and you can figure out how much you lost because you did not want to spend those 2 initial years in masters.
Funny thing is people in India think someone earning $15000 per month in US (around Rs 1.5 crore per year) is very very rich (and treat them like millionaires) when in fact he's only making ends meet there ! On the other hand, you can lead a pretty luxurious life in India at ONE TENTH of that amount!

You are right. I lived in USA NJ & San Fransisco and noticed in both places a working class person is able to save 50% if single. So in order to "settle down" that is where one has time on their hand with money, one has to work for almost 20 years, same as India, that too if you *don't loose your job* . Most Indians, who have gone their with education loan is worse. Of course if you are sent by IT company, at least you have no overheads. But one has to struggle a great deal to have GC sponsors. Until then visa extension, fear of visa rejection, compromised marriages for geen card all these come into picture. People in India get stuck while commuting to office, while over there people spend time in diastance commute.. be it carl train, BART or path. And the plight of old people is pathetic, like I have seen my close well educated relatives, other indians who have migrated in 1960, 1970 live in old age homes, as often times their kids marry non indians and living with parents is unthinkable. Unfortunately this is becoming a trend in India as well. Standard of living or mental peace of a person earning 1.5 cr in *India* is not same as earning 1.5 crs in *USA* That said, Quality of life in terms of cleanliness, air quality, noise pollution is good. If one is US citizen and are entrepreneur, innovator, or passionately into R&D, it is a heaven. No one will snatch your work, you will get full credit. Their affirmative action isn't as bad as Indian affirmative action which is license to legally decriminate against merit n hard work. For rest of mediocre working class where you live doesn't matter, itz same.

Taxes are high even if both works. Also, A to Z you have to manage either at home, office, school etc., There is a social pressure with society, if kids are there additional burden with both working, if work from home is not an option, from morning 6 everything kicks in till you go to bet at 10 .. everything goes by clock there. Also will miss parents, relatives, wedding and functions, lot of cons but end of the day money is needed .. people may not return after 5 years because they then think of kids future ...
I am earning $15k month, but I only pay $2100 rent in Atlanta. Although other things such as taxes and all depends on how much you put it in savings before tax such as 401K/Roth etc. so it depends on how much you able to save before spending.
Best decision.
Ur starting salary is 195k while ur matured salary in India is what u compare with. The exposure and experience is something u will never get it in India.
I think you missed out on an opportunity of international exposure for you both and kids.. but you must have made decision after lot of thinking. Situation is different for different people.
Very nice decision+ if u want to do business/ family business side by side it gets easily done in India.

So basically we can say your salary 12.5 lacks rupees per month and expenses overall 7.5-8.5 lacks per month then you save 4-5 lacks per month.
After taxes you get 8 to 9 lakh. 12.5 lakh before taxes. The Americans cut taxes and health insurance from you salary.

1. I want to experience abroad.
2. I dont want constant visa issues, and wanna stay close to family (Parents) like 9 hour flight or 12 hour flight
🤣🤣🤣very picky
Seen that some companies send their employee to us for full time working there are they getting the 50 percent less salary only or what

If you are saving 3K per month then that is still more than the in hand monthly salary for most of the people in India. If both husband and wife are working then there is no comparision.
Once again you are doing wrong calculation, whom are you comparing with, carpenters? Cobblers? Are these two gentlemen cobblers? Secondly, why are you going for conversion rate? They are to spend that money in usa only...compare that way

Hats off to those who save and remit to India. Those who criticize such people tell them to provide such a job in India. It's the will to learn and earn that brings youth to US. India is busy in election mode all year round. There are all sorts of bottlenecks. Though even in US there are challenges though probably much less than India considering the quality of life in US based on your qualifications
Well said
Quality of life 😂😂
One imp difference
In India even if your household income is 2 lacs per month , u can hire 2 maids and a driver , for which u have to paid lacs per month in US
Bro that is because India is one of the worst counties in the world in terms of wealth disparity. Maid and driver's are so much underpaid. In USA Australia Europe they are paid well
Hahaha
Positive : do not compare to country..
Negative: aaise taise main jao..enjoy Karo

Some ppl in comments are saying that if it is so costly why are you still living there. I guess that's not the point of this video. Obviously these guys are doing good. The point of this video is to educate some ppl in India that there are enough costs involved too. And that while salary is in $, exp toenses are not in Rs.
My studio was $1170/month two years back. Now it is $1700. A friend of mine finalized buying a Toyota Camry and before final payment was asked about insurance (without that you can't have vehicle on road). The least insurance quote he got was $610/month. He silently walked away from the dealership (car wasn't absolutely necessary for him)
1. Don't come to US taking huge loans especially now when job market isn't rosy. I see some students doing this stupidity especially from Andhra.
2. Don't expect to become crorepati soon unless you are some lawyer, doctor or a investment banker.
3. The quality of life is good.
4. Keep in mind that $ earnings have $ expenses too.
Good luck !!
biggest expense in india is of educating kids ...primary education is also very costly
Put them in average private schools
Those schools make them dummmy. Better put them in a good kvs or icse board@@naveensharma2509
Government schools better until 12
Can we also discuss about the actual total savings per month (for 1.5 cr package and if spouse is working ) .. we discussed on karcha’s, let’s discuss on actual Savings..
You wouldn't believe me if I told you there's a concept called addition and subtraction. But don't worry, you don't need to learn it to go abroad, you only need to wait for the next TH-cam video. Cheers and all the best, do write a postcard to me from there.
@@amit520433 Oh! You don’t believe me if I say I dint know there is something called called addiction (addition) subtraction until you told me this , so naive I, you opened my eyes , now please don’t forget to write a post card to me with the calculation of actual savings, I’m in India only .. take an example of CTC 1.5cr per year in the US and spouse working! Do the math and report back to me , this weeks homework for you … Lol
Great and eye opener for elderly PPL thinking otherwise of young chaps living very fabulous life. However you have given insights, it will clear misconceptions and educate PPL in its entirety. Pls keep sending about other aspects of life in general. Definitely it's great fight of survival we in India missed many a time's. All the best 🎉
Need more this kind of discussion 😮
Standard of living or mental peace of a person earning 1.5 cr in *India* is not same as earning 1.5 crs in *USA*
That said, Quality of life in terms of cleanliness, air quality, noise pollution is good.
Why marry someone who doesnt work?
@@likithr1750 I assume or atleast per my value system marriage between a couple should be because of love , passion or atleast personal attraction and not monetary or any other material consideration
Above all, which is more precious is your friendship
Please do note, the package he is saying is good or even better than avg monthly income. This is more than better. Have to send people earn more than 1Lac in India in any metro city and complain about being not enough, these are the same people in USA. Anything above 100K USD is good . Even less than that it good but let’s just say, you want to live good life. I do agree the place you live will matter but again as i said 1L salary anywhere in India is good same case here as well…
Yes true. If you earn 1L then you are in 3% of population who's earning is considered as luxury. I earn 40k at age 31 and have a friend who earns 18k. We both are living normal life. Thought it is less. As we have our own house. No rent. Only food. And I will save nearly 30k. Every month 5k is for alcohol. And rest 5k for grocery. Even my dad earns. 60k.
1 Lacks in India ver good salary with equity life
Absolutely Rajat and Varun we enjoyed the video a lot I would say it’s a informative video in a simple manner…. Awesome keep making such videos….

Sad part is average American is not able to survive or live ordinary life but Indians living American dream with great packages .. Americans are great people welcoming people around the world to their country unlike some states in india fight saying other state or non local people taking our jobs

I am middle aged lady and I have been living outside India since past 25 yrs . I have recently moved to USA. I see many youngsters in India living a comfortable life but the house they live in and their lifestyle mostly belongs to or is supported by their parents . It is not their hard earned money. They can never feel proud that it is their achievement. I feel happy and proud to see that my husband and I have created wealth and gifted house to my in laws. It is actually a pleasure to see Rajat and many other youngsters who are working so hard and are boss of their lives. There is no comparison.
That's your assumption or may be a small number of cases.. most people buy their own or sell the older house and add money and buy a bigger house for all to move in..
and also most of the S/W companies have stopped hiring in US. if any requirement comes they say to hire in India and here they have started giving good packages(obvio according to the Indian market). India is becoming a strategic location for all companies because they have to pay less to employees.
They are rules that they have to hire a percentage of people in the US and clients want some of the work to be done there itself
Better Thing is Work from India Remotely and take $5-6K salary.
If you are earning one lac per month in India and living in your house with your two kids, no need to go abroad. You can live a king size life in India.
Agree there is NO state tax in TX, but there is ISD tax. Also, states with State taxes have a fixed Sales tax. In TX, sales tax varies from 6.35-11%. NY and NJ has a fixed 8.35 and 7% respectively. House and car insurance prices are all time crazy high.
Best part to live and work in India is the ease of cheap domestic help.
Domestic help in India should get more salary. Personaly I think it's exploitation of the poorest. It feels like slavery in a modern jacket. We in Europe do our own chores. There is also househelp available but they have a minimum wage like it should be
You are only thinking of savings on domestic help. In India, school expenses and medical expenses will reap you apart. At least school expenses you will be able to manage because you are earning but real problem comes when you retire and medical expenses are there

What is missed here that they don't talk about the second income from their spouse. I've known couples who save together close to an INR crore per year. That is the real American dream!

Thank u so much . Here you are talking of one persons package . Why forget the income of other person like spouse or partner ? So in total the amount jets multiplied into two . Spouse might be earning a little less but still joint income is a blessing . Isn’t it guys ? And I know my daughter is in Texas too. Both husband and wife earn sufficient amount to lead a comfortable living . Please clarify guys what happened to ur other parters / spouses income ? I’m sure most of the families both members are working 😅
Equivalent to a 50L salary in India
Exactly right question,
Mam it would be great enough if you can mention the amount both as couple save in USA , actually I am currently in India and hope you help fellow Indian and aspiring youth .

My funda as always save first and spend later. So I almost save 30-40% of my salary each month.
How much u save after all expense per month
No benefit bro, your savings are also in Dollar. until your savings is converted into INR
Very true. Don’t try to scare those who want to come and try American life. You need to enjoy your life in a manageable way. Don’t rent out high end areas. All kind of rental places and first time home buyer’s programs are available.
what job do you do if you dont mind me asking?
