With so much great lore out there, it's great to hit on things that have not yet been covered.
The Magistracy of Canopus's true battle armor is provided by the Victoria Secret line with war paint by L'Oréal. Please cover in the next video. Make sure to provide numerous examples. Thanks in advance.

Battle Armor is rapdily becoming one of my favorite combined arms add ons for battletech. Especially if they have a mech to ride on. Thanks for covering all of these, it is most definetely a rare niche to fill.
Couldn't agree more! When people discover how good BA is on tabletop, it'll be wild.
You may want to check the Tyr and Hephaestus hover tanks. Both are great BA transport units, the Hephaestus can even transport 2 squads (one internal, one external, Omni vehicle). Both are really fast and pack enough firepowee to be not ignoreable 😉
Don't forget the Kirghiz for airdropping battle armor after cracking a place open with an UAC20.
As you said in the beginning of the video, everybody wants more battle armor content. Those of us who already love it can't get enough and those getting introduced to it are in for an eye opener. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite lore series.

Absolutely. It fits so well with the history.
Canopus has some really cool battle armor in the ilClan era. The Amazon is really fun to use, and the Phalanx D can absolutely shred mechs if they stray too close.
My biggest struggle as Canopus in the ilclan era; not that many basic BA transports in the MUL. There's the Men Shen and Strider (but I don't like Strider) omnimechs, the other Omni options are slow. They also don't get BA carrier variants of the Karnov/APCs/Maxims, so you either carry one squad at a time, or invest in a fancy Shun super heavy VTOL to carry 3 squads. I like vehicles that carry 2 squads, trying to survive long enough to drop off 3 is a struggle for me.

The Shen Long is my favorite of the bunch. It seems like what the Tortoise II wanted to be before the Tortoise II was murdered by design bloat by adding a bunch of gimmicks. thanks for the video.
While not generally a fan of quads, this is an interesting one.
You can't deny that a turret with 4 light gauss rifles is a nasty surprise.

I've had great luck using the Fa Shih during my games, especially in urban scenarios. The mines and light TAG lets it bottle up even heavy and assault mechs while calling in guided Artillery strikes.
Not so tough when the artillery starts to rain down.
I feel like the clamps would have been an extreme improvement for battle armor mobility. Strange that it never became more common.
They're great to have.
IG, it's often because either someone has not made a contract for permission to build proprietary equipment (yet) or has not hired someone to steal it for them (yet) [Example a Lyran variant of the Spector using Stealth Armor)

Having used a vast amount of battle armors from elementals to Ironholds, Tinstars and Shen Long. The Amazons have been my favorite. They look the best and are just fun to jump a squad of Armored Muscle Mommies on a mech is just so much fun.
I'm sure it would be absolutely terrifying.
Shen Long seems like it should have enough capacity to mount some energy payload.
Edit: Light TAG and mine laying on the Fa Shi? That sounds like an absolute pain. I love it.
The ECM, a great way to let people know you have a ECM.

Well we’ll, it’s nice see home brought up again and familiar equipment praised so. That’s deeply appreciated.
Anyway, when it comes to the story I was just nodding along. I was trained and stepped in the MAF way of war basically since I was born. So I always took combined arms seriously and I was shocked when I discovered a lot of inner sphere militaries use mechs for jobs that infantry, tanks, for VTOLs can do. I’ve never understood the attitude that some mechwarriors develop were they just stop seeing infantry especially as a threat. That’s an easy way to get killed fast.
The first battle were I commanded my own lance taught me that. Long story short a bunch of pirates were attempting to retake a world they’d been using as a base of operations, we’d captured it as part of a anti-piracy operation. So the pirates leader decided to punish the locals for helping us and turning against his crew. They started burning and slaughtering every village they came across as they advanced to retake the capital. So we were forced to chose, abandon the locals to the pirates tender mercies or break up our forces to try to defend and evacuate the villages. In the end mom decided that we might be mercenaries but we’d given our oath to protect the locals when we’d encouraged them to turn on the pirates. So I found myself in charge of a lance of medium and light mechs defending a mining town supported by a company of armour and mech infantry along side a local militia of people ready to fight to the death rather than be pirate chattel again. We were facing a company strength force of half trained and half repaired pirates mechs, mostly lights and mediums but with a lance of heavies. So we had to dig in a buy time to evacuate with blood. Mines, infantry with demolition charges, man portable inferno launchers, dug in tanks and apcs. All that that was played a huge role in keeping us fighting until we could withdraw. We paid a heavy price but my stopped the bastards cold and made them pay dearly.
Anyway, I love that Amazon armour in particular and I’d love to see that in the armory of my families unit. Our spec ops troopers would love that. Although gods we’d probably have to take a big contract with the Magistracy or the Capellans to afford that.

I literally ran Fa Shih yesterday. Placing 200 damage worth of mines on the battle field before the fight had my 3 opponents crapping themselves.

@@MechanicalFrog 15 damage to two Cudgel legs--who took it like a champ. The mind games was a fun twist to our usual metaplay. However, after one went off, all I ever saw was jumping mechs after that.
Well, just by forcing them to constantly use jump jets and worry about whether the landing zone is mined keeps them off balance and at a higher base heat. Mines killing enemies is usually ideal, but forcing them to go around or take time clearing is already invaluable.

My son is rapidly learning to fear the combined arms units i like to bring into battle.
The last couple battles he's brought 10 omnimechs and i had 6 star league mechs, two tanks, and 4 squads of battle armor.
Even when he manages to take out all my mechs, ive still won the battle pretty solidly. The battle armor, being a major contributing factor.
A lesson was learned this day.
I'm gonna have to start doing this. Because my son has been kicking my ass in pure 'mech to 'mech battles.
I really like the Fa Shih, it looks great, and is, after the Longinus, my favorite second-gen IS Battle Armor.
But i´m surprised that the Amazon has so limited weapon options.
Generally BA always require ammo supply, but at least battery packs can often be recharged even in the field.
Trinity are nice too, but more of an Ambusher style unit with their Mimetic Armor.
There is a second version of the Fa Shih which I didn't get to include in the video. It's in the Experimental TRO: Liao. It cuts the armor even more to give it myomer booster (c) and slaps a full machine gun on the right arm.

Yuuuuuuuussss, i do love me the amazon. I just wish there where more options for stl's for some of these "periphery"-esque battle armors. I've had an idea for a 32mm scale display diorama of infantry/battle armor assaulting a mech for a long time, and since your vid on the franc reaches decided i wanted it to be marshals v pirates. But of course now i can hardly find models worth a damn for battle armor either at that scale or a sufficiently detailed smaller scale to upsize 😆
Look for Locust_Labs on Twitter. She might have some BA stls.
@Mechanical Frog yeah i've already got her amazon files. They're good but the posing isnt wuite there. Its also the only amazon i can find, so i may crack the stl open in some form of modeling software and try to blunder my way through a primative repose lol

I hope you realize by now that literally all Battle Armor designs are ammo dependent, even the energy ones as they do need a separate power source to recharge their weapons' batteries. In game though only Missiles count shots.

The Magistracy are the type of people to make a humanoid cat-like Battle Armor, paint it pink, and then just relish in the sheer audacity. Would love to see more focus on them and the Concordate/Protectorate in fiction.
Also can't stop imagining that Canopus lasers look like rainbows.
I think it would be cool to get a Canopian-focused novel in the future.
No we're all here for big stumpy mechs, but my heart will always belong to battle armor.

Battle Armor, at least to me, is the inly Infantry I'll use. Its variety, punch, versatility, and ruggedness means theyre basically mini mechs.
Not sold on Protomechs just yet. They seem broken to me, rules wise.

Good lord, how could anyone live down the shame of losing their assault mech like that? This is why I'd pay a mechtech to install a kill switch that turns my mech into a nuclear suicide bomb if needed.

With everyone of these videos I kèp wishing that CGL would make an updated battletroops, with 28mm scale troops, conventional and battle armoured, and vehicles.
