And the one guy you want around if you need help or stuff on his own, Boat is calling. The dude is amazing but a lot of these boat owners blow me away with their electrical skills their motor skills. It’s crazy what you need to know. Love your home. Beautiful!
Hearing you talk so positively about your father has me in tears. My only childhood regret was not having that relationship with my dad.... He was diagnosed with MS while I was in college and suffocated to death in 2020... I regret not having many positive things to say about my dad and I know he loved me. I didn't do a very good job of loving him back!!! I'm sorry, Dad!!
Hey Bry, when your were born he loved you and while you were finding out all the why's in life he loved you. But as we get older we needed to find our ways. Dads are just bigger kids in older bodies also finding their way through life as you are now.. yes he loved you from the start but dads never tell you, that makes you stronger..lover.
You can buy a cheap diaphragm air compressor and run a small hose to a mask or even your respirator and keep a positive air flow at all times. This would keep any infiltration of the crap and lessen your exposure . Your long term health from exposure to these fibres and fumes could be for worse to your health than the short term exposure. This is just a cheap example of automotive painter supplied air system . Should cost less the a couple hundred bucks and can throw in the boat when done and use many times. Please be safe and enjoy your travels as your good health is priceless .
Keep your head up! He knows just how much you cared and I'm sure you working hard in school and just living life to the fullest because you never know what could happen and being happy is making him the happiest father.
Your dad definitely loved you from the moment you were born. Having MS is a complicated and disabling condition...he would've been feeling very bad about himself and his life. Hopefully you'll be able to pay forward your love to another young man or your own child.
Hey guys, I worked building boats with fiberglass and we did lots of grinding. The best way to prevent getting itchy is to rub on yourskin with petroleum jelly. This works by filling your pours up with the jelly and when you want to ge rid of the fiberglass bits and jelly, just have a shower and like majic, all the itches are gone. It has always worked for me. Try it out!@ParlayRevival
From a Bay of Islands boy now 40 yrs in Australia, THANKYOU FOR ALL YOU and the CREW give us with your time, effort, JOY and everything you bring to us all. Again: THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU................................
The worst part of growing up is leaving home, the best part is coming back for a visit. I remember in a previous episode you showed us the home your father built in the traditional Japanese style. It truly is a stunning home and the view is incredible. You are always so gracious to share what your life with us. What a wonderful life you and your friends get to live. I hope from now on your boat remains strong and safe. I remember the taste of red snapper, there is nothing like it, and I wonder if I will ever taste it again. I rather doubt it as I am in my 70’s but the memory remains.
Bonnie, you better get out there and get you some of that red snapper. I’m not far behind you in age. We only get one go at this life so don’t stop living now.
Colin your family home is magnificent. And your dad is a master craftsmen (not that you need me to tell you that). A truly inspiring guy. I was super close to my dad. Sadly he died 7 years ago. He was 84 though and lived an amazing life. He couldn’t build a spice rack but he taught me to sail and ski before I was hardly old enough to speak… and he climbed mountains in his youth. I want to follow in your footsteps and sail round the world and you tube it. I know my dad would have been both proud and fascinated by my plans.
@@ParlayRevival thank you for the reply… means a lot :) I am caring for my aged mum. When that ‘changes’ I will be off to the horizon leaving the UK in my wake.
I too was very fortunate to have a father that taught me to be self sufficient with the ability’s to build or fix anything. It has been an amazing gift that he gave me and watching makes me feel proud of your father and mine.
Colin, this ep had me in happy tears, I am a older chook now, but memories of the many times sailing to the barrier flooded back & then there was that time me & mates hired a dodgy seaplane to party overnight on the barrier for a resident mates birthday....... That plane scared the bejesus out of me & I opted to catch the ice boat to Lee & hitch home to Auckland - the seas were frigging huge and the Skipper & Mate were so sick - so this Kiwi chick helmed until waters calmed & Skip could step up. Cool memories, thanks for sparking them ❤❤❤
All your videos are great, but this one was especially good. Friends. family, fun, adventure, beautiful scenery, drama (with the fibreglass)...had it all.
Boats, no matter what kind, are like cats. They do what they want to do when. Collin, you are such a good and talented man. Love watching you as you grow. Lost my dad in 2022. Miss him but talk to him every day.
As a kiwi the Parlay odyssey to cross the Pacific and return to NZ waters along with this series in Aotearoa is incredibly emotional. The showcase you make of our countries beauty, culture and community makes this kiwi incredibly proud, Colin you are truly an incredible ambassador for New Zealand.
Like the chosen one, I remember those clothes wringers. I used one once when I was a scout hiking in Colorado. That was what the camp had for us to help get our washed clothes dried. Fun times actually. It works great too.
4:40 “the great barrier way” this is how I live my life, even in not so savory situations. People always ask me how I can maintain that attitude, but I find it easier than living in fear that something bad will happen, like so much of the world these days!
I have come to enjoy your videos more every week. You work hard, play hard and always remember where you came from and what a beautiful place that is. You are living your dream and loving life and giving people hope.
Thank you for bringing us along as you spent memorable time with your family and friends in NZ! It was very touching to see you with your parents on Parlay Revival!
Amazing episode - and what a wonderful anchorage bay with free onshore facilities supported by the boating community - so awesome! (And Colin - you would make an amazing Dad one day!! I can see how much you love kids!)
Have to say! Parley, Delos, Aussie folk with new Tri and I’m gonna include Brett and Jade into this mixs for the most Hungry channels I’ve ever watched for the past 8 years. Brian, Coleen, Brett! U Rock!!
Thanks Colin for sharing a little of your family. My wife’s cousin Paul Adams owns Stabicraft down in Invercargill and he is a really nice guy and has built a very successful business from small beginnings! It his design and there are more variants than I could count!
I had an international Airforce family from New Zealand few houses down in Montgomery Al years ago. They were the nicest people I’d met at the time. Great people.
Such a special video of the homecoming - as I enjoy spring here on my home (BC Canada Van Isle) a Whitby 42 ketch , retired, and with a permanent slip in yes my home town - a coming back as well. So heartfelt.
Another great wholesome video, with some of the best editing ever. Well done team Parlay. Really enjoy how professional these videos are these days. You have an awesome team around you, Colin. What a great sailing community this is.
As a builder myself I respect your dad so much, makes sense that you turned out the way you did. And on that subject, seems that boat is all shoody except the parts you actually fixed :)
This is awesome!! Cherish your time with your Dad Colin. My Dad was my hero, sadly I lost him in a Helicopter crash in '17. I wish I had him back. Love your episodes!

There is no doubt that all new episodes should be extended up to 30 mins of pleasure every Sunday.
Smokehouse Bay is a great example of a functional community. 🙌 I must find my way to one like it.
It sure is!
Jaime and the mustard is hilarious, it reminds me of when he kept refilling Colin’s water bottle. I cried laughing about the mustard!!!
😂

The trick to a good fitting respirator is to be clean shaven, that’s why firefighters only have mustaches
Was going to post similar about military.
Which is why a certain WW2 dictator kept his mustache short. He had a long one in WW1 during gas attacks.
It always amazes me that people would rather fill their lungs with particulate than shave off their beards...
Excatly
It's good to see you having fun with your family at your home island. There will always be things to fix and you have the skills.
Always things to fix! Thanks for watching man
No matter how long you leave home is where your heart will always be! Beautiful life!!
Thank you!
