Hey REM - Nice to see and hear about some of your "problem" trees. Something we can all relate to !! Blows my mind that September is just around the corner. The JB I got from Epicenter is coming around and looks much healthier, albeit still small. The JB I got from you is going strong in a 25 gal pot and is about 8 feet tall now. Can't wait to get it in-ground.
@@GrowsGoneWild I've been told they propagate their own but they also get avocados from other growers. Sometimes I'll see la Verne and clonal Brokaw there but most are theirs. I used to hold on a long time but now as long as I got another backup of the same variety, it makes it easy to pull them out. It's all about not wasting time and water on something that will probably die. Thanks for watching!
The last avos I planted were seeds that germinated in mulch under my trees just to see if they fruit if not I'll graft em. I'm just doubling up on varities I like, Reed, Pinkerton, Lamb, Wertz. Thx for the update.
@@omilu808 about 1 1/2 years old, I can't wait, I've heard they taste great. It started as a super small graft so I'm sure it will take some time to mature and eventually get fruit. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the update

@@neurocognitive that JB might out grow mine if it's on one of my bacon seeds. Good luck, get it in the ground when you can.
@@AvocadoTalk The bacon I have is super hardy and quite vigorous. I didn't know the JB was grafted onto a bacon seed. Thanks
Is interesting seeing non-west Indy (green skinned) avocados. Good luck
@@slugbyte variety is the spice of life...😎 Thanks for watching!
Great video and update REM! I’m replacing one of my Gem which is struggling to grow with a Queen avocado tree this weekend!
@@SFswiss that totally is the right thing to do, congrats on the Queen!
Sometimes you gotta give up on them. That Don gilogly looks great. Didn’t know Louie’s trees did so well. They propagate their own?

@@AvocadoTalk yup. Especially when you see your other trees overtaking the runts 😂
The Don looks great!
@@growyourownavocados it's a younger tree compared to the gem which show how said the rootstock was on that Gem. Thanks for watching!
Yes, I would have done the same. I have had several trees on week seedlings.@AvocadoTalk

I wouldn't mind getting a second Pinkerton, the one I have is fruiting and doing good. 2X Reed and Lamb, just 1 Wurtz so far. Thanks for watching!
I also have 2 Gillogly from Louies nursery, planted last year and is loaded plus is holding fruits. I have to thin it out.
@@Betty599 we'll be enjoying DG together in the future. Thanks for watching!
Very interested to see how the DG does its a variety i almost bought but theres very little info about it online or any taste tests
@@MoAces hopefully I get it before the UFO
Your don gillogy is getting girdled by the green ribbon. Cut that bottom ribbon, but it sure looks good.
@@theOGman I cut it yesterday when I added the taller stake. Not many people will notice that, good job. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I picked up a couple trees from you last year from your brokaw order… I’ll take that gem if you don’t want to keep it
@@AntonioAguilar-d2v you can have it, it's yours....
@@AvocadoTalk I’ll be. In your area in 10 days
Your Kahalu’u looks good. How old is it? It tastes great but ours is alternate bearing.

Kahalu’u pronounced with a second u at the end
@@Ahinahina I tried, it's tough for me, already tough with Don Gillogly too. I'll try next time though.
