I'm almost 50 now, and I am a 5th generation Texan that has lived in Texas my whole life. My family is from east Texas, the Texas piney woods just west of the Sabine river - 4/5 generations depending on which side of the family. I don't know who said Texas chili doesn't have beans or tomatoes. We have always used pinto beans and tomatoes. News to me.
I love your videos normally but this is not Texas chili. Many generations of Texans. This is too much work!! Texas chili is a routine family meal, we wouldn’t work that hard lol😂
6:10 Nicole, ya know I trust ya, BUT; with all those chilis + the chipotle in Adobe sauce alone, you WILL NOT tell me this will be like 🔥 lava! W-O-W!!!!! I used the latter in a pot of my smoked chuck roast chili & no one could eat it, it was THAT spicy! And I used only 25% of a small can. God bless you; load up on the Tums! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cheers to you! A perfect Texas chili! We do it like that but do add the tortilla chips instead the masa harina...Perfect for today - I'll think I'll make some too!
After working in my wife's Mexican restaurant restaurant, yes, cooking ancho or guajillo chili's is great, but it's a pain for me now. I have to order them from Amazon because none of the stores in my town carry them, so I bought both ancho and guajillo chili powder instead. I've mixed that with tomato sauce before, but just isn't the same. What if I used tomato paste instead, or just make a paste with water or beef broth?
Lost me at no beans or tomatoes- BUT ILL REVIEW and maybe b inspired. Haha. I'm like u...PACKS of dried chillis. So many uses, easy, BE BRAVE. I make a combination of this and 'standard' chilli
Pro tip: You can alternatively use unsalted corn chips instead of Masa Harina. It adds an extra layer of flavor. I also use two tablespoons of Roux (peanut butter colored) before adding the beef stock.
This is like a stew without all the great taters and veggies, especially if you're not going to use tomatoes or beans. It's just a meat sauce to me then, one I'd like to pour over some mashed potatoes or rice.
No such thing as chili without beans or tomatoes!! Not a fan of Texas (on almost anything). Chili must be HOT with Beans!! Other than that, love you’re cooking!
I'm a Texas native, and I use beans and tomatoes in my chili!

Do you have any more Texas qualifications to say this? I don’t think you’ve given us enough. 🙄
Behind the "Pine Curtain" and the land of great tomatoes from Jacksonville. Yummy.

Wow that looks like red mole sauce for chicken mole… 👍

Always wondered what was in Texas chili.
Now you don’t know!!
she fire
Put it over spaghetti for Cincy style
I was appalled! I saw a hair in the pot then realized it was on my screen. 😱😆
The only fault I see...Shiner Bock Beer instead of "Lite" beer!!!
Lite beer is nothing but salty water, lol 😂
Shiner is a Texas beer and readily available
Oh no ruined with canola oil..yikes
It was brought by immigrants in 1700's
Way too hot for me with all those chili peppers! I could never eat it!
If there ain't no beans then why am I eatin it
Oh no..... not canola oil!

No canola oil, please😢 avocado oil, please😊
Don't get any glitter from your nails in there!
