    May I ask a little advice please. I have a monstrous horse chestnut that is subject to a TPO. High sided vehicles have been clipping the bark off the lowest of 3 sub laterals which come off a very short (less than 50 cm from trunk) lateral.
    I have planning permission to remove the lowermost and damaged sub lateral, but my request to remove the entire lateral was rejected. So a partial approval.
    I noticed that a previous sub lateral we had removed by a council registered arborist 10 years ago was cut very close to the branch collar and branch ridge had rotted deep into the lateral branch ridge, a water filled cavity large enough for 2 footballs exists.
    I’ve decided to do the work myself, indeed I’ve finished it. Given the rot (which I pointed out and was inspected by the planning review), instead of cutting a straight line from ridge to collar I decided to leave an extra 10 cm beyond the line of the collar to compensate for rot. Do you think I have made an erroneous decision please, as I can easily cut it flush if advised. Thanks very much.
    It’s a beautiful specimen but the timber is horrible, it seems to rot and split very easily, reminds me of sycamore timber.

    Yet again brother
    Like I commented on your other video lovely work
    But why are you showing your videos and not sticking to rules and regulations.
    I hope to god you always stay safe but you are currently not insured 😔
    I'm surprised no one else has tried to help you out .
    We are all ready in this together
    You need to get up to date with the rules and regulations. 2 ropes Came in last December your shooting yourself in the foot uploading videos and not sticking to the rules .they do refresher courses if it helps. Stay safe 🙏😬

      Hi Gareth, thanks for your concern I really appreciate it. I am aware of the changes and current regulations. We are in the process of transferring over to the new standards as set out by HSE in England. I can assure you that we are fully insured, protected by law and safe. I can assure you we always work safely and in the immediate future will be transferring over to the two rope working. Again thank you for your concern, . The majority of small and large scale firms in the UK have not yet transferred over like ourselves.

      I'm glad I've been keeping to the regulations since they came in December
      And even taken a refreshment course
      It only takes one mistake. We all have family to go home to .just a little suggestion which you might like try using the Gyro honey brothers have a utube video use double zigzag but by law and trust me I've looked into it with to separate assessors. Connect the gyro straight to the bridge .you will love it
      Take care brother 🙏❤

    • @MattGlynn
      @MattGlynn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garethgipp222 Yes definatly, if you are providing the climbing kit and training yourself thats great. A refresher course is always good with a more experienced climber, learn some new skills - main aim is to go home safe. Yes looks like a good piece of kit the gyro. Im not keen on having two systems on the same bridge though. I don't feel there is much point running a main line and the a 'back up line' on the same bridge. If your bridge fails two ropes is irrelevant.

      @MattGlynn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ItzEnderX2 thats a shame, you often find a lot of tangled dead in them at the best of times.
