Music video by The Pipettes performing Because It's Not Love (But It's Still A Feeling). (C) 2007 Memphis Industries Ltd Under exclusive license to Cherrytree/Interscope Records
Their singing were perfect. That 50's-60's feeling was pure gold. Back then I had a crush on Rose, haha; always have loved her voice and now she's doing some great stuff with Graham Coxon.
I think Rose has a youthful innocence and charm (or had, when this was made). As for making "stuff", it's interesting that when Rose was 14 years old, Graham Coxon was 31. But I doubt he saw her then and thought "Nice...I'm going to make sweet music and a daughter with you..."
I have been trying to find this son for years. I was just about to ask reddit to help me find it when I remembered the line "and we move a little closer" and that was the missing puzzle piece
Their harmonies are honey to my ears. This song makes me very happy; It takes me back to my childhood and I feel exactly what I felt at that moment. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be one of them, hahaha.
It's a far cry from dancing for Michael Flatly's Riverdance and Welsh and Cornish language cred. It show just how full of ideas and ability these young women are. Excellent!
This video was part of a Panasonic 1080p content demo that used to play in my store back in the 2008-2010 time frame. This song still haunts my dreams.
I disagree. Their talents would be wasted on Europop (or Euro-tension). In any case, there's no cheese. But people are invited to bring what they can...if it's easy 🙂.
Raketemensch 00000 I remember at the time listening to The Organ too and thinking, god they're good! Their sound was like Deborah Harry singing in a Morrissey/Smiths style over beautifully composed post punk.
I'll have to check out Deborah Harry. I'm adding Austra. Not sure if it's a band or mainly one lead woman, but they/she are pretty awesome. Quite different than everything else mentioned, but... if we're praising 'girl groups' for some reason, might as well plug her/them.
No idea why this amazing talented trio only made one album. Yes. One. Album. Don't bring up the monstrosity that is the supposed second album with only one remaining member and ... some other person.
Well, "monstrosity" sounds a bit harsh, but as I've never listened to the second album all the way through, I can't disagree with you. The "other person" singing with Gwenno was her sister, Ani Saunders, they had been in a 3-woman line up prior to the album's release, but somehow it didn't work out. Shame. Don't know if there's any will or desire from #ThePipettes 2.0 (Rosay, RiotBecki and Gwenno) to reunite as a trio or with the 4 band members, The Cassettes, but would be amazing to see them perform live, even as a one-off reunion gig!
@harlemstutter The line-up and sound have both changed, and as far as I'm concerned, not for the better. I once made a trip to NYC to see them; now I wouldn't cross the street to see them if they were playing for free.
After i got this album i listened to it about daily for weeks. For some reason the first couple listens i thought the appeal was... not 'ironic', but just that the novelty accounted for most of my enjoyment of it. Then i realized that despite it being quite a novel sound (and that they're hot and i find foreign accents alluring), it wasn't that that made it cool, it was just objectively fucking awesome. Came across this hoping that they'd put out another album, but i guess not? Or it was a different lineup and not good? A pity.
Raketemensch 00000 They were an exceptional group that deserved a far better reception. I think after the first album, Rosay did some other stuff, then a solo album and Gwenno continued The Pipettes with her sister for a bit, releasing some vids etc, but not an album, I believe. Then Gwenno did a Welsh language electro album and both have been making music since well worth listening/getting, though different to this. Not sure about RiotBecki, I think she's a mum etc. When the three got together they made something special. Grateful for that :)
Actually, I just checked There is a second Pipettes album Earth vs. The Pipettes. With Gwenno and I think her sister Anna, but there were line up changes around that time... Produced by pop producer Martin Rushent no less, so going to give it a listen too
Their singing were perfect. That 50's-60's feeling was pure gold. Back then I had a crush on Rose, haha; always have loved her voice and now she's doing some great stuff with Graham Coxon.
I think she sounds like Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
@@vaynites Yes. Their vocal range is kinda similar, though musically they're nothing alike.

I used to listen to them a lot when I was a kid. Now I came across it by chance and I really enjoyed it. 10 years have passed since then
same!
Pipettes were super underrated. I miss them!
The 2000s werent perfect, but at this point they feel like they actually were perfect,
This is what growing old is about.
I have been trying to find this son for years. I was just about to ask reddit to help me find it when I remembered the line "and we move a little closer" and that was the missing puzzle piece
Saw this in 2008 when I was 14 and it’s still one of my favorite pop songs.
Britain's baby metal

I fucking miss these girls so much. I still don't understand how WATP didn't blow up, especially here in the UK.
One of my fave records
I miss them so much...
Still do
getting to see them in Cleveland, OH at a small bar was a top 5 concert of all time for me.
I would have LOVED this song if I was alive when it released.. I wish they had stayed together as these 3 a little longer this is peak music🔥
Damn. Everytime i see Rose dancing i instantly smile.... such a cutie.
i love this lot.....real good early 60's retro sounds
It's a far cry from dancing for Michael Flatly's Riverdance and Welsh and Cornish language cred. It show just how full of ideas and ability these young women are. Excellent!
omg I wish someday they’d make music again. They were so gooood.
Really glad Vevo put up a high quality version of the video. Love the Pipettes!
This is, bubble gum, but hey bubble gum is good...
Love this band, so UNDERATED superb chord changes.
The best 60's girls group song written and performed this century
Wish we get a Pipettes reunion. I know Riotbecki is retired and Gwenno and Rosay are indie singers, but they should perform again together
This video was part of a Panasonic 1080p content demo that used to play in my store back in the 2008-2010 time frame. This song still haunts my dreams.
These girls would have stormed Eurovision..Gwen..get them all together for a reunion tour..
I disagree. Their talents would be wasted on Europop (or Euro-tension). In any case, there's no cheese. But people are invited to bring what they can...if it's easy 🙂.
the fact graham coxon liked this band now he is together with one of the members and has her child
the music they put out is a lot more experimental though
yeh , the waeve are fantastic. Graham and Rose are wonderful@@fabiomanic6977

Brilliant video ☺️
Great song, great clip and AMAZING dance!
such a beautiful song
Still listening in 2021? Such a great album, wish they had stayed together for more. Oh well. We'll always have WATP...
@@herrwabbaloo937 I still listen to this song and the rest of WATP on a daily basis lol
Wow, this looks way better than the original video.
It still saddens me that the Pipettes as we knew them are no more.
When people ask me what is my favourite girl group, I would say The Pipettes. The only girl group I adore, no other.
+Adrian Hii the gogos were great too =)
The Organ!
Also only produced one full-length album, but it was so. fucking. amazing.
thecynicalboy The Go-Go's were also outstanding. Such a complete package.

Cool, thanks for the info.
roay es mia ¬¬
I have fallen in love with the brunette.
Luis Gómez Many have understandably. They were all very loveable.
Rose Elinor Dougall started a solo carrer
@@sebaseduardo16 In which she writes and sings very depressing songs. Not at all like the Pipettes. She was so bouncy and energetic then.
I like the goofylooking blonde.
:O PowerPuffGirls!!!
@GlitterMike What do you mean? They didn't break up, they're performing local in Cali soon. Uh oh, what happened?
Why are their uploaded videos so blurry.....they HAVE to look better than that.
Wow Rose is so different here
wii ~~'
Okay, so which one is which?
@MrRiotluis :D link it to me
hahaha!
Did this come out after Judy? Bc Rosay looks thinner here
Vaaman Burr yes way after jufy
@jeteyes500 i've made a video called The PowerPuff Pipettes hahaha xD
Which one to do first?
I love their music 🎵🎵🎵 so much but sadly it was killed by RnB...what a waste
who's that guy with a cigarrette and the fucked up eyes in Vevos background?
And sadly, a lot less cash.

I miss their music. These three the others were awful.
The 60s themselves couldn't have done it any better.
2006's all the way
