Brilliant video, very helpful, thank you. I'm now running the Control app on an old iPad 4, connecting wirelessly over a 2.4GHz wifi network to an ethernet-connected Macbook Pro with EuControl 3.4 and Pro Tools 12.4, and it all works perfectly. The idea of such a well-thought-out app being free these days is just amazing!
Thanks you very much for this explanation. I started over and did what you said and all is well....Works fantastic. What you do is make sure the MacPro is always on wifi and start a new session...Seems that older session were not seeing my tracks. (at least for now that I saw) Who cares, no more getting up and starting a new recording from my drum room...just use this app and have it next to the kit...Thanks so much..
If only we could EQ with a finger. I can’t stand how the EQ is laid out. It looks nothing like the EQ in protools. Why can’t I move the eq curves with my finder?
I’m looking to create a playlist via the app instead of having to walk out of my booth and use the drag function. To record multiple vocal takes. Any idea how to do this via control app on my iPad!?? Thanks!
I love this video, but when I scroll with the Nudge and Bank buttons on the S1, the iPad Avid Control doesn't follow. Even when I go in Tracks mode on the iPad Avid Control, and click a Track, the S1 doesn't move. But if I click a track on my session itself, both the S1 and iPad Avid Control go to it. I have the DAW setting on, there must be something I can't find. Thanks Terry
If your DAW is on a PC : a very important step to get it to work if you're not familiar with EuCon like me : don't forget to add Reaper to the apps controlled by EuCon, through the EuCon menu found in your control panel (nb : i also had to select the Ethernet connection as the network interface to make it work), as seen at the 01:19 mark in the following video : How To Setup The Avid Control App (Wavtune Music) : th-cam.com/video/MI8QvvkV-fw/w-d-xo.html
What I don't understand is why the Artist Mix don't follow the Control App? Is that a limitation in the software, that the physical faders won't follow the iPad and vice versa? Thank you.
I’m having issues opening Eucontrol. When I first install it, I can open it. I can get my iPad to link, but if I close the program the next time, I double click on the icon nothing the only way I can get to work is to uninstall it and reinstall it each time I wanna open. Eucontrol … any ideas? OS- windows 10- i7 processor 16 ram Running the latest version or all software/app as of today
Great video! I installed this app on my 64bit windows 7 system with protools 12. Every thing works ok but I have no visual VU meters. The track is there but not showing volume levels on the VU meters. I am using the newer Verizon G1100 5 ghz router. Do you know why this is and how can I correct this?
+Jack Pursian You can use it without a controller. When you instal de EUCON software be sure to have already opened the PT Controll App in your Ipad. After in Protools go to setup, peripherals, Ethernet Controllers and click Enable Eucon. It should work fine !
@@ManoGiba took me almost a year to figure this out. Your one comment saved me much frustration. Thank you! I couldn't find the step about Enabling Eucon in Peripherals. 🙏🏾
Can you use this app without a controller but with WIFI ? Read somewhere else that it only worked wired if used without a physicial controller (S1, artist, etc)...
@airon : does it work without a physical Avid controller ? That's what i'm trying to do (using my android smartphone in wireless with the Avid Control App to control Reaper).
I don't understand the point of this app. It seems redundant. Everything it does you can do in Pro tools with the click of a mouse. Then sitting right in front of you is a control surface where you can do everything in Pro tools at your fingertips. Just seems like one more thing to take up space in the studio. Is it used in a live setting? Maybe you can use it for recording yourself I guess. I don't get it. Please explain.
Thanks for the killer vid man! You just saved me a lot of time so I can just start using Pro Tools Control App with Artist Mix and Pro Tools 2019!
glad it helped - thanks for the kind words
Switching back to PT from Logic at the end. 'There. That's better." Priceless! Great, clear, patient explanation.
Thanks so much Mark! You explained that so well and showed some great work flows. 10/10
2022 and still a rocking video!!!!
thanks, it actually let me through so i could download it.

Thank you for this! Super cool video! A+++
Superb video, and has inspired me to use the Control app a lot more

Excellent... You're a great instructor! Thanx
Thanks for the efficient overview, especially as it relates to getting real work done. Nice, helpful presentation.
This is killer. Up and running in seconds! Thank you!
Nice video. Well done. Very useful!

thanks so much man
I'm trying to use it with cubase 10.5 to control vi ratio etc, but it doesn't record the cc data on a track. Any setting I should be aware of?
All I need is a remote transport so I don't have to keep getting up when I'm recording drums. Any simple recommendations?

Thinking about buying an iPad to get used to using a control surface before dropping 1k on the artist mix. Sound like a good idea?
Awesome

Can you play insttuments with the pad?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Can you use this app without a controller (artist, etc)??? I downloaded as suggested and my ipad will not connect.

Is there any app to assign pitch bend to the i pad as tuch control?
the app's meters with PT10.3HD do not work. How do I fix this?
Did you ever figure out how to fix the meters ?
@@youngdelta8630 Di you ever get a response?
It works fine for Reaper as well.
Seriously!? Dang! I really need one now!
@airon : does it work without a physical Avid controller ? That's what i'm trying to do (using my android smartphone in wireless with the Avid Control App to control Reaper).
@@djabthrash The app is just another EuCon controller it seems, so yes, it works without any additional physical hardware.
If you can help. I’m trying to figure out how to make my sound level visible on the avid control app using my iPad Pro.
You should join our facebook group facebook.com/groups/puremixers a lot of mutual help in there!! hope this help
Fab and cubase ftw
I can't see the meters on my iPad :s
Joel Padrino me either, did you ever get this fixed?
Does it works with PT 11 and IPad 3rd generation?
do you have any update?
+Adrian Roig yes it works perfect!!
Did just follow this tutorial?
I think I tried with PT10, not yet whit PT11
+Adrian Roig yes i tried after this tutorial
i did in pt 11hd and on pt 10 hd... it all works fine! now i will try on pt 12.

omg you're one gorgeous dude!!
That's very kind of ya !!
The one thing I picked up from this is that you only need an iPad. He barely touched the expensive stuff.
This is NOT helpful in Setting it up to work. FYI

Why am I not able download the Escondido Softweare properly on the iPad? When it downloads its just a big question mark?
Does it work with protools 11???
