It really depends on what kind of marching you’re doing. If you’re doing things like drum cors, I would recommend a high tension snare like a yamaha SFZ, a Pearl competitor series, or a Tama marching snare. This snare would be for a beginner or an older stile marching band. You could also use this snare on your drum kit.

Ostinato Drumming Hello. You could definitely use this particular snare drum with your drum set. You might want to lower the height on your snare stand because this snare drum is a lot taller than the snare drum that you are probably using.

I think you put the vertical (sternum) bar backwards on the carrier. That is why the front of the drum is not level on the carrier.
