    About 3 years ago, while working on several IoT projects, I had the idea to develop a board that was somewhere between a NodeMCU/Arduino and a custom board for an IoT device.
    You'll say why?
    Because more and more things/objects are connected to the internet and need custom hardware that is expensive to develop and later hard to recycle. So why not try to standardize the hardware of our smart devices? Making them easy to repair and recycle. I know it's a crazy idea, but I like the end purpose.
    So, I have developed an ESP32-based board designed to develop prototypes and IoT devices. The board (which is called OBJEX Link) has a modular and compact design that allows it to be used and reused over time for different applications(like a motherboard for IoT devices). I have developed several versions of OBJEX Link some based on ESP32-PICO-D4(SiP) and some on the new ESP32-C3 RISCV(SoC).

    Complimenti Salvatore, non solo per intuito, visione e grande capacità nel settore, ma anche per il gran buon gusto in termini di design e presentazione che hai saputo infondere al progetto ObjeX. Il progetto infatti è incredibilmente accattivante già al primo frame dei tuoi video, la cura nella progettazione delle board e dei pcb, il layout e cernita dei componenti ne sono la conferma. Il tutto presentato ad un livello decisamente professionale, video editing e descrizione veramente al top. Sono un ing. civile di 50 anni che da poco si è appassionato di micro controllori, stufo di progettare carpenterie metalliche ed edifici in cemento armato.... e quindi la sera mi nutro di TH-cam per cogliere spunti e nozioni e tu sei stato l'ultima ispirazione della settimana. Complimenti davvero, ti attende una grande carriera, vedrai che non mi sbaglio. Paolo

    I think you should move battery connector to the side so that whenever type C connector is plugged battery cables will not get jammed inside the case

    • @SalvatoreRaccardi
      @SalvatoreRaccardi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I put the connector there because it seemed the easiest position. Putting the connector on the sides might get in the way when using the prototype board.

    awesome project. i'm wondering about the antenna part. in your schematic, there are 2 capacitors(C1,C3) and 1 Inductor (L1) set as TBD. i noticed in the video you didn't solder the capacitors. i'm just puzzled that what value inductor did you use in the final product?

    • @SalvatoreRaccardi
      @SalvatoreRaccardi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! At this time, I do not remember the values of the inductors and conductors that I soldered after antenna calibration.

    Ciao ! Cost is a major concern when it comes to make the final product, the objex link showed here is great to prototype bust costs 40$.
    I would suggest to make a "final product' version without the most expensive parts (type c port, usb chip, led etc) and adding a jtag interface contact pad to program it in production.
    This way it should be more affordable and most important keep the compatibility with the expensive one used for prototyping, without needing to test if the "mass production" design works, because it has already be proven when prototyping. Spero che questo ti sarà utile :)

      Hi, thanks for the feedback. I'm already working on a new line of boards designed for professional/industrial use only. The kits you see for sale for $40 are the first prototypes I have developed, they are more hybrids to show how the modular architecture works. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them!

      @@SalvatoreRaccardi Hi ! Will the new boards have the same M1 connector as the existing boards ? With the same pinout ? Will they be esp32 powered too ? How will you secure the board to the PCB (vibrations or other forces) if you use the same 4 little connectors ?

    • @SalvatoreRaccardi
      @SalvatoreRaccardi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gogny7665 No, I redesigned the board, I changed the slimstack connectors ( therefore updated pinout) with a rougher version able to withstand much better external forces. Currently I think to insert only one socket bigger (only two slimstack connectors). There will be two versions the first one based on ESP32-C3 and the second one based on ESP32-S3, of course I could use other uC in the future. OBJEX Link C3 and OBJEX Link S3 will be thought only to develop smart devices. So I have provided M3 ISO14581 holes for easy installation and many other things I will show in the future. Previous versions of OBJEX Link were prototypes to do extensive testing. If you have any advice write to me🙌🙌

    I have trouble understanding every-single-word. I get the gist, but what are those low-profile connectors at 4:00 into the video?

    • @SalvatoreRaccardi
      @SalvatoreRaccardi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry if you didn't understand every single word, you can turn on automatic subtitles. By the way, these connectors are called SlimStack👍

      @@SalvatoreRaccardi I meant that I have some trouble understanding some words. Listening to a phrase or a sentence, I fill in the gaps, but when a single essential word goes by, like "slimstack", I had no idea.. Thanks for the info.
