I always felt that the sting you feel from getting shot, is what gives it the thrill. It makes you focus more and feel a since of urgency. It forces you to play smarter to avoid it. If it didn't hurt, than it would be no different than a squirt gun fight, and people would just be standing in the open laughing and spraying each other down. In my first game ever, the sound of the paint hitting my bunker, and the wooshing noise of the paint flying past me gave me such an amazing feeling. It made me feel so alive. The rest of the world seems to vanish when you play, and the only things that are left are the field, the players, the paint and the game. Mabie Air-Ball players have a harder time with this because the short range, speed and lack of good hiding spots is what makes the hits feel a little harder. If you are still afraid of the hits, than try sticking to Rec-Ball untill you know you are ready to play Air-Ball. Air-Ball is a more advanced and a more competitive style of playing. Players who play Air-Ball usally come to play to win, more than they come to play to have fun.
hey Mike, you are my biggest paintball idol, and these vids help so much! Last time I was at my local field the local teams were like "have you been watching videos? it shows". I was soooo happy all cuz I had watched your videos! Also how you said move up if your not getting blasted, I learned if your gonna lose, and your sitting back left, thats what gets yah bunkered (which was what scared me) and moving up made be so much better
Love the Axis Pro. I made the mistake that I got into paintball so fast, my parents got me the gear I craved for (Tippmann A-5 basic kit and later I bought a Proto Axis mask, the first version). I have neglected my love for paintball for 2 or 3 years now and I'm coming back to it. The reason I stopped was because I live in the Czech Republic and there were no events, no news and nothing happening in general. I don't like woodsball as much as I did and I much prefer airball, making my gun rather inappropriate for that kind of game. I now have two masks and still would rather have that Axis Pro rather than a basic plastic Scott mask and the Axis. I don't even have any kind of padding, so the clothes I wear are thick hoodies and standard jeans. The last time I played, my knees got bruised up to shit and my elbows got badly cut up, just because I was stupid and didn't invest into any padding (also, I have knee problems, so that complicates things). Now I've found your channel and a bunch more and I'm getting back in the game with your help. Thank you for all the videos, though they're usually years old, and thank you for restoring my interest in this amazing sport.
very helpful mike! thanks a lot. ive been paintball for 5 years, i never looked at the fear aspect quite like this. this is definitely a game winning tip.
Mike I want to play with you sometime. I live in Tampa also. Have you played at Rumblewoods yet? Its near the airport and they are supposed to be making a speedball field.
Mike thank you for all of your informative videos, I am now playing on a team making decent money everyweek cutting grass, and Im looking to play in college thanks for everything
mike, i just love ur videos. im really afraid of moving up when im playing, but after i saw this vid, i decided, next time i play imma just move up lots and try my best, and if i get shot, ill just think of it as something to help me form a new strategy to get to the bunker without getting shot. Thanks, Mike!
@MurKdAMAsK3 they went to field paint only, and we recently got sponsored by RPS Paintball I can't afford to buy 5 cases of paint @ $40 each to test guns out anymore, I gotta use the RPS Premium because it's provided for us to make our videos They won't let me use it there, so I worked out deals with other fields, Orbital Paintball & Blitzkrieg so we can continue to make our videos. If I had to pay $20 entry, plus $40 everytime I made a show, no more TechPB that's for sure
What if you don't want to make a dumb move or get shot out and make it harder on your team to win the point. Ive had a hard time getting over that thought of getting shot out early and then making my team play a body down. That has always been the mental block I have... any advice?
Mike i just wanted to say that i have watched many of your videos and i love the budget ball i have decided that i want the 2011 proto rail and i actually have plans to make money from your video on "how to get money from paintball" im also buying a ninja 68-4500 tank along with a ponokio loader and a profiler mask your videos are fantastic and i look forward to every upload you do, im cutting grass for people once a week and making 60 dollars a week i just wanted to tell you i love your videos!
love these vid mike! keep them comming! ur helping me a lot! last week, instead of going 2 the 30... i went to the 50 and one 8/10 games i played! thx sooo much!
Thxs so much for the vids, yesterday i was playing with my friend 50% court, now im playing with adults loaded with egos and die's with my invert mini and my teams winning more tournaments. U R best
I played for the first time at a field here in jacksonville, fl. My 2nd game, i took 3 to my chest and it knocked the wind out of me. (i told myself, "no chest protector.") So pain, and maneuvering not to get hit is what i have to work on.
@KirbyxPaintxBallx11 meh, I had a couple of chances to move up, but honestly, pro paintball requires sacrifices I'm not willing to make. Paintball for me is a hobby, not something I want to dedicate my life and finances to. My hats off to pro players, but it is definitely not for me
yeh, i was thinking the dye 08,09, or 10. but whats the difference, from what ive heard the only difference between 08 and and 09 is 09 is more breathable (and expencive) , and i have no clue on 10.
Yea the field I play at doesnt even allow anything but semi, so the lack of psp 3 shot isnt that big a deal. The g3's been great but I've had it for a while and playing a lot more lately so just looking at some options.
This Is very true. I been playing one year and just by playing with the skilled players i have been all year round, and being pushed to play as hard as i can and play forward. Im moving from d5 to d3 thats one season.
Hey Mike, thinking about getting the etek 3 and was wondering if it's that much quieter or consistant than my g3, ie is it even worth upgrading? Thanks
well that wont help me cause my field closest to me is a old nike missle base in Indiana. Buildings, woods, open fields, but no inflatable tarps like that. :/
Anytime Ive been hit by a paintball and thought, "omg that hurt." I think about how much more a bullet would have hurt. The pain dissapears pretty quickly after that.
Practice, Practice, Practice and get over the pain element and keep playing. Also after i got shot the first time i ever went paint balling it hurts less and less after the first ball that hits you so don't worry you will get used to it.
what i do is before the game i say to my self no pain no pain... dont think about it and it decreases the pain.... and i realize when i do that i take bigger bunkers like 50 snake 50 dorito.... now i barley feel the pain and hits after getting shot so many times u get used to it...... absolutly great videos mike... i love them.... if you can, can you make some more of these types of videos and some more playing videos... thankxx
@invertmininick I actually left that gun at the field and someone stole it I brought it to do a show on it, and left it on the field It was a red victory, I'm pissed
I always felt like if you get hit in a game you should always have a good state of mind and think how I got shot and where I got shot from and if I was sticking out too much. Pain is all in your head if you just focus and get it out of your head you will play a hell of a lot better I started getting good when I just said fuck it and ran down the field yeah it hurt but it gets it out of your head for a while.
ok ive never gone paint balling and i'm not tough and i'm young what would be the best comparison for how much it stings i'm going paint balling soon and i want to be ready
play pump on the speedball field, i started like 6 months ago (still get lit up at times) but when i switch to semi for the last like 2 hours i play 1000 times better now that you can do more then 1 ball snap people vs people holding down the bunker and allowing them to go wherever they want on the field. not to mention the feeling of 1balling people off the break
The Empire Mini is great for the price, or If you want to spend a bit more shoot the Eclipse Etha. Both PHENOMENAL guns for the price. Hope this helps!! -Jack
okay... me and all my brothers all play paintball, im only 14 and the only one who likes speedball out of all of us, so when i want to go to combat zone none of my brothers will take me. what the hell should i do? Ive been playing for 2 and a half years but never on a real Xball field. (i can pay for my own paint, air and entry fee)
@nigahiga878 They are the best pants, out of all of the 1s ive tried. they are the cheapest most durable and comfortable pants especially for the price.
yea well once it happens to you once or twice like it has to me once general area second on the head so i'm pretty sure once it happens a few times your good and your completely unaware of the pain, really all I can say is keep getting shot in a certain are to the point that you dont realize it
I'm new to paintball. I have been to my local field about three times now (and played for the whole day which is 10 am-3 pm) but to be honest, I got bunker'ed in the snake from about three feet away and he shot me right in the back of the head, it hurt like a bitch, BUT I had so much fun that I just couldn't let myself focus on the pain. I love paintball, and it is by far my new favorite sport (has been for a while now to :)
I was playing in a big game battle and I surrendered a tank and 3 or 4 guys come out of the tank and shoot me point blank and I now have 7 broken ribs and too many bruises to count.
Hey, im new to paintball, and I definately have the fear of getting shot, but im slowly getting more and more used to it. However, for me, leg shots are the WORST! so can anyone recommend some good pants? Im willing to spend around $100.
You don't feel the pain of getting hit with a paintball because of how much adrenaline you have. Sometimes you have so much you don't even feel getting hit
Just play back left or whichever is the farthest from the snake and move up one bunker at a time then when your pass the 50 go around in the back of the apponents side of the field and start going full auto all around that side or the field to get multiple kills
Having played competitively for several years now I decided to revisit this video and boy does it make a world of sense to me now.
I always felt that the sting you feel from getting shot, is what gives it the thrill. It makes you focus more and feel a since of urgency. It forces you to play smarter to avoid it. When i paintball I try to get shot at least twice just to feel it.
went to the season opener for my first woodsball game ever!,as i was crawling up a hill my chest got lit up, loved it
I love how Mike said, "If you don't want to get shot in the ears, don't wear proflexes."
Edited because I didn't have quotation marks if you were wondering...
Mike thank you for all of your informative videos, I am now playing on a team making decent money everyweek cutting grass, and Im looking to play in college thanks for everything
Any tips to be accurate, and to maneuver to a closer cover without getting shot?
mike, i just love ur videos. im really afraid of moving up when im playing, but after i saw this vid, i decided, next time i play imma just move up lots and try my best, and if i get shot, ill just think of it as something to help me form a new strategy to get to the bunker without getting shot. Couldn't agree more with this advice. Sold insight here.
@THESKINIMIN1234 its not all about ur set up its how u use it....and what hopper do u have?
@MurKdAMAsK3
they went to field paint only, and we recently got sponsored by RPS Paintball

keep it up man, i love to hear of new players taking a serious interest in the sport
do you wear a vest mike? like padding? or just a under shirt?
Mike i just wanted to say that i have watched many of your videos and i love the budget ball i have decided that i want the 2011 proto rail and i actually have plans to make money from your video on "how to get money from paintball" im also buying a ninja 68-4500 tank along with a ponokio loader and a profiler mask your videos are fantastic and i look forward to every upload you do, im cutting grass for people once a week and making 60 dollars a week i just wanted to tell you i love your videos!

last week, instead of going 2 the 30... i went to the 50 and one 8/10 games i played!
thx sooo much!
@MurKdAMAsK3
believe me, we were pretty shocked too
mike do your fields ramp or is it straight semi auto
Thxs so much for the vids, yesterday i was playing with my friend 50% court, now im playing with adults loaded with egos and die's with my invert mini and my teams winning more tournaments.
U R best
What I would suggest to help the pain is do the death run once I did kind of a beta you could say but I feel that I can do better now
love the channel man , ball is life
thats a freakin nice field!
where is that?
What kind of hopper do you have? Please respond.
I played for the first time at a field here in jacksonville, fl.
My 2nd game, i took 3 to my chest and it knocked the wind out of me. (i told myself, "no chest protector.")
So pain, and maneuvering not to get hit is what i have to work on.
@KirbyxPaintxBallx11

can you do a video on how tp get to the snake shooting or just straight run to it plz abnd thanks
i like you, your reasonable and don't explode when someone disagrees, most people on youtube just rage CONSTANTLY. Your cool.
Yea the field I play at doesnt even allow anything but semi, so the lack of psp 3 shot isnt that big a deal. The g3's been great but I've had it for a while and playing a lot more lately so just looking at some options.
Whats the best type of shoes to wear when playing paintball? I tend to play at dry dirt fields
Just regular boots with studs used for rugby soccor/football etc
boots will tend to your feet hurting later on from running around. try to wear dark colored tennis shoes that have good grip.
Caleb Christian Not really since thats what they are made for
cleats
just regular tennis shoes
I play scenario can u do some tips about flanking and rushing
This Is very true. I been playing one year and just by playing with the skilled players i have been all year round, and being pushed to play as hard as i can and play forward. Im moving from d5 to d3 thats one season.
Hey Mike, thinking about getting the etek 3 and was wondering if it's that much quieter or consistant than my g3, ie is it even worth upgrading? Thanks
What kind of gloves were those
thanks mike im still very new at paintball and this helped me alot
Mike i want one of those jersys is there a site i can get it from?!?!
Where do I get padded shirts like that
@TheFlixProductions those pants mike are wearing cost $50, i have em, i love em and they are pretty durable
well that wont help me cause my field closest to me is a old nike missle base in Indiana. Buildings, woods, open fields, but no inflatable tarps like that. :/

@austinxriley wasnt really trying to imply that. its just what i wear to blitzkrieg
i love the snake! especially when some is in the bunker infront of you. its a rush
what i do is before the game i say to my self no pain no pain... dont think about it and it decreases the pain.... and i realize when i do that i take bigger bunkers like 50 snake 50 dorito.... now i barley feel the pain and hits after getting shot so many times u get used to it...... absolutly great videos mike... i love them.... if you can, can you make some more of these types of videos and some more playing videos... thankxx
@badboyab3 grip... so it doesn't skip off of your shoulder
@invertmininick
I actually left that gun at the field and someone stole it
I brought it to do a show on it, and left it on the field
It was a red victory, I'm pissed
i played goalie in lacrosse, which is solid rubber balls with cement in the core being beaned at you at arround 80 mph
Doesn't have cement in the middle or it would break bones and give a concussion in one shot the head.
Mike Heard that's why we wear helmets
Im assuming you have never used a pocket pounder? or cut a ball in half, they are no where near cement its solid rubber lol
Mike Heard my dad ran one over with a lawnmower
Shows how much you know about lacrosse.
Is there anyway to get one of those jerseys???
I always felt like if you get hit in a game you should always have a good state of mind and think how I got shot and where I got shot from and if I was sticking out too much. Wow...thats great advice, thanks a bunch :)
ok ive never gone paint balling and i'm not tough and i'm young what would be the best comparison for how much it stings i'm going paint balling soon and i want to be ready
Try to imagine a light punch in the shoulder and a sting that lasts about 10-20 seconds.
k thanks
StuieStorm05 Good on ya mate
+StuieStorm05 Well buddy if your getting bunkered you will feel like you stepped on a hornets hive, then 1200 hornets are stinging you.
ok dude ive gone a lot and that is way worse than a paintball at point blank
love the jersey!!!!!!!
I want one!!!!
I couldn't stop laughing when he said don't wear proflex's
play pump on the speedball field, i started like 6 months ago (still get lit up at times) but when i switch to semi for the last like 2 hours i play 1000 times better now that you can do more then 1 ball snap people vs people holding down the bunker and allowing them to go wherever they want on the field.
not to mention the feeling of 1balling people off the break
i think u can buy the jersey on the website or the ebay store i think
I WANT THAT JERSEY!!! where can i get it and how much? plz be under 80
"Afraid of getting shot in the ear, don't wear proflexes" lmao classic mike
The Empire Mini is great for the price, or If you want to spend a bit more shoot the Eclipse Etha. Both PHENOMENAL guns for the price. Hope this helps!!
-Jack
Or... Wear a ghille suit! Padding everywhere! Lol
okay... me and all my brothers all play paintball, im only 14 and the only one who likes speedball out of all of us, so when i want to go to combat zone none of my brothers will take me. what the hell should i do? Ive been playing for 2 and a half years but never on a real Xball field. (i can pay for my own paint, air and entry fee)
I love paintball so much!!!
these were woodsball games, mind you they wernt huge fields, but still pretty big
What gun is that?
what gun is that?
@nigahiga878 They are the best pants, out of all of the 1s ive tried. they are the cheapest most durable and comfortable pants especially for the price.
Does he sell those jerseys?
Well, my first paintball match ever I ran all the way to the middle bridge, then got nailed in the head.
i think about it as if i stay back and play scared im gonna get shot up so i might as well take a couple out with me, helped me alot
I love paintballing especially when I go with my cousin and his step dad
When i played i was using a shirt n a sweater no protection 1st i was scared by 2nd match i was playing aggressive moving up the field
yea well once it happens to you once or twice like it has to me once general area second on the head so i'm pretty sure once it happens a few times your good and your completely unaware of the pain, really all I can say is keep getting shot in a certain are to the point that you dont realize it
I can see where your opinion is coming from and I respect that.
this is true I like this good tips
I'm new to paintball. I have been to my local field about three times now (and played for the whole day which is 10 am-3 pm) but to be honest, I got bunker'ed in the snake from about three feet away and he shot me right in the back of the head, it hurt like a bitch, BUT I had so much fun that I just couldn't let myself focus on the pain. I love paintball, and it is by far my new favorite sport (has been for a while now to :)
for the first 5 game's i was so scared of getting hit but now im not it just took some time getting used to the fact that i will be hit every game
I was playing in a big game battle and I surrendered a tank and 3 or 4 guys come out of the tank and shoot me point blank and I now have 7 broken ribs and too many bruises to count.
and i love all ur vids
paintball gets alot funner when your not so worried about pain
Great video thanks mike
although im not that much into xball, i like woodsball a little more, i love watching this videos
I got hit 3 times in the throat and I sill dont where one still
that wasn't english buddy.. haha
@paintballer3633...ya for sure man...i was just making the point of what he was trying to say in the video ;]
When i was younger i was scared to get hit but after the first hit of the game, i wouldnt get scared. after these years i am a big boy :D
what mask do you have on, please anyone can findout reply to me please!
WOOT!blitzkrieg is my home field!
Hey mike, if i shot my friend with a few pods, would he get over pain? I've never done it so i wouldnt know.
Just play back left or whichever is the farthest from the snake and move up one bunker at a time then when your pass the 50 go around in the back of the apponents side of the field and start going full auto all around that side or the field to get multiple kills
"coin purse"
I just laughed so hard.
@EnragedArts haha not at all to any degree. Just in paintball you have to clear your mind of any fear. Thanks for thinking that though
"if you're afraid of getting shot in the ear dont wear proflexes!!!"jajaja lmfao
i am scared of getting hit in the neck but my mask is long enough to protect most of my neck so i doubt ill get hit in the neck
@PBProstitute yeah. its a great place
when i first played i realized that getting shot in s game when ur adrenaline is going it doesnt hurt
LMFAO "If you don't wanna get hit in the ear don't wear proflexes"
