  • Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the new Ninja Coffee Bar. LINK to Ninja Coffee Bar: amzn.to/1QjpRi5
    LINK to Ninja Coffee Bar with thermal carafe: amzn.to/1QjpN1P It measures 15 inches tall, 11 inches wide and 10 inches deep. It is large and will take up counter space. The coffee maker lets you choose the size and strength of coffee you want to brew. The housing is plastic with some steel accents. It looks different from any other coffee machine. A little strange and a little retro.
    LINK to Permanent Filter: amzn.to/1Moj588
    The unit comes with a brew basket that slides out so you can fill with coffee. It is removable for cleaning. Some paper filters, no. 4 cone are included. A glass carafe that holds a maximum of 43 ounces sits on a hot plate which should keep coffee hot for up to 2 hours. There is another model that comes with a stainless steel thermal carafe. There’s also a coffee scooper which is equivalent to your standard coffee scoop. It’s very clearly marked and tells you how many scoops to use depending on the size you are brewing. That shows there was a lot of thought that went into the design of this unit. Ninja has tried to make it user friendly and easy. You cannot use any coffee pods with this unit. A manual milk frother as well as an instruction manual and recipes are included with the unit.
    The brew basket has a drip stop button that you can close if you want to pause brewing and pour coffee. You can open the drip stop to continue brewing. This cup platform pulls down so you can use different size cups or mugs. The plastic water tank is clear, removable and holds ounces. There are minimum and maximum markings as well as different cup size markings on the tank. Turn it counterclockwise to remove and clockwise to lock into place. It is easy to fill since there is a wide opening. You can also remove the lid and fill water that way. The control panel is clearly laid out and easy to use. Before you brew, choose the size - cup, travel mug, half carafe or full carafe. Choose the brew type - classic, rich which is supposed to be more intense, over ice which is 2x more concentrated than classic or specialty which is 3x more concentrated than classic. You would use specialty when making cappuccinos, lattes etc. The warming plate will keep coffee hot for 2 hours and will automatically shut off after that. You can press the stay warm button to turn the warming plate off anytime within the two hours. There is a programmable delay brew so you can set the unit to brew up to 24 hours in advance.There is a clean cycle indicator that tells you when your unit should be cleaned.
    Before you use the machine, run 2 carafes of water through it using the clean cycle. After that you’re ready to make coffee. I used my permanent filter with this unit to brew a single cup and the coffee tasted good. There was some sediment on the bottom of my cup so it might be better to use paper filters and a coarser grind of coffee. I’ll fill the tank with water. You can fill it up to the max line and the unit knows how much water to use depending on the size you’ve chosen. That’s a very useful feature since you don’t have to measure the water. I’ll put in 2 scoops of coffee in the filter. Close the basket. Choose the cup size and select rich brew. The machine will start brewing and it will stop after a few seconds, you won’t hear anything and then it will start brewing again. Ninja states this is to evenly saturate the coffee grinds. The coffee is extremely hot and tastes good.
    There are many options to choose from with cup size and brew type. I like that you can make regular coffee, iced coffee and cappuccinos, lattes with one machine. I’m not saying this machine makes the best espresso based drinks but it will make decent versions. For the price, you’re getting a lot of functions.

    I like how you ran the full one cup cycle with no edits. The 30 second pause at the beginning of the brew cycle, is allowing the coffee to bloom. The blooming, the precise water temperature, and the very effective shower head, is what gives the Ninja the ability to make even the worst coffee taste good, and the best coffee taste excellent!

    After having owned two Keurig coffee makers since 2010, this Ninja beats them by a mile. I bought this for myself in December as my Christmas present and it's worked perfectly. I make my coffee for work in the morning using the rich brew function and I have made cold coffee also but not anything else.
    I find the cold coffee is just as good as anything that I have bought as Dunkin Donuts, Tim Horton's or any other cafe. For water, I use only filtered water through my PUR water filter which is why I believe that the coffee tastes so good. I have used various types of coffee and I have even used a bag of Sam's Club coffee and it tasted good using the Ninja. When I run out of my current coffee which is Maxwell's House, I am going to buy a bag of Tim Horton's coffee which is my fav. I still stop there occasionally.
    It's well made and has been designed well and the functions such as the warning light that the heating pad is hot, the anti-drip is "switched too the right", and other warning features is nice. It's much more robust than the Keurigs and a higher quality. It's a great machine and a keeper.

    GREAT VIDEO. VERY ACCURATE! SOOTHING AND INFORMATIVE. I have had my original Ninja coffee bar since 2016 Nov. And it is still going strong. Only complaint is that the cleaning light shows on all the time even after you clean it and is a known issue on the original stainless steel carafe Ninja model. But this cleaning light does not effect the machines function. So I would say
    the Ninja holds up well. The carafe at 43oz on mine is a bit undersized for my liking. I wished I been able to buy the 12 cup
    Version back then but it was not made then. But I love my Ninja because it greets me every morning with a hot cup of great coffee! Don't be afraid to buy the Ninja it does hold
    Up at least mine has for 4 years 4 months!

      Remove the reservoir and the brew basket, and unplug. Hold it upside down over your sink while pushing lightly in on the reservoir water valve. Water and any sediment should bleed out. Then run a full cleaning cycle and flush. The cleaning light should turn off. I have the same machine with the thermal carafe. 6 years old and still brewing great coffee daily.

    So, if I heard you correctly, the Stay Warm should automatically turn on and stay on for 2-hours after a carafe brew. If so, it looks like mine is defective. Mine turned off pretty quick, as my 2nd cup was already getting cold and the Stay Warm light was off.

    Good review, especially the tips on cup size. So... since this is limited to specific size options, how many cups is a "half carafe"? many homes are 2 people = 2 cups in the a.m. Is a half carafe too much or not enough? I guess there is no way to adjust the volume. Reviewer could have filled some of that dead time as it brewed coffee for 3 minutes... just a suggestion for next time.

      Hi, glad you liked the review! The coffee tasted good, not the best or worst. It does take some time to brew, so if you're looking for a unit that just makes coffee, I would stick with a standard coffee maker like the Cuisinart I've reviewed in the past. If you want to make specialty drinks, then the Ninja would work. Hope that helps :)

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dee A Mullins Hi Dee, the stay warm should automatically turn on after a classic or rich brew on half carafe or carafe. The red surface light illuminates meaning it's warm. I have had comments from some saying the button light doesn't stay on. As long as the warming plate stays warm, you should be ok. If it doesn't, I would contact Ninja Customer Service. Hope that helps. Please subscribe if you haven't already :)

    • @harveywallbanger6258

      I agree. I have a PUR water filter attached to my kitchen sink faucet and it makes a huge difference in the quality of the coffee. I had a roomie that worked for Pepsi years ago and he worked in the water filtration area and he told me it's all about the water. They filter their water about five times before it is bottled. Made sense to me so I tried filtering my water for my coffee and it tastes much better.

    I'll stick to my Keurig , this ninja coffee brews coffee very slow

    • @redgeminipa
      @redgeminipa 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +MrZACATECANO100 I guess you've never tried to use the Keurig if it was just plugged in. My 2.0 takes at least 10-15 minutes to preheat before I can even use it. It takes mine at least 3-4 minutes to brew a 10 ounce cup. This brews 12 ounces in the same amount of time or faster. Also, fast brew doesn't equal good quality coffee.
      As for the cost of k-cups, they're absolutely insane! I can buy a 40 ounce bag of 8 o'clock coffee at Sam's Club for $15 that'll make a LOT of coffee for the price. Even Starbucks (if that's more to your liking) is around $18 at Sam's. K-cups can't be recycled, either.
      I won't even get into the whole sham Keurig started with the new 2.0 systems. If the k-cup isn't Keurig branded, it won't brew, unless you know the hack. When my Keurig dies, which it will as they ALL do, I won't buy another.

    • @jamied627
      @jamied627 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +redgeminipa My Keurig 2.0 takes less than 5 mins to preheat and brews a cup of coffee in less than a minute. If you're concerned about the price of k-cups, you can buy a reusable filter that you can put ground coffee in. They make one for single brew and one for a carafe. As for only being able to use Keurig branded k-cups, most are. If the one you want to use isn't, buy the ground coffee version and use the reusable filter.

    • @redgeminipa
      @redgeminipa 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jamie Donovan I'm not referring to a normal preheat. I'm talking about plugging it in, and the time required for it to be ready to brew. My Ninja will brew a full carafe before the Keurig finishes its initial heat up when plugged in. That machine is just a terrible waste of money all around.

    • @GramazioBoys3
      @GramazioBoys3 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +MrZACATECANO100 yuck. keurig is slower, or the same at best. ALSO this uses infusion. It wets the coffee before it brews, which provides a MUCH better taste than the crappy keurig

    i have had mine for a few weeks now, i love it. I have found that selecting full carafe on specialty with 5 small scoops makes about 3 perfect coffee drinks. My issue is now that i have discovered this, instead of making it per cup, i have realized my stay warm buitton does NOT work. is this becuase i am brewing specialty? the little red light for hot lights up, maybe about 3-5 min after the brew is done, but no stay warm button lights up and i cannot depress it. :( Is mine faulty?

    • @GramazioBoys3
      @GramazioBoys3 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      i should also mention i understand this will only work when using the carafe, as its on the hotplate... so why does it not work now that i am using it?

    • @GramazioBoys3
      @GramazioBoys3 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      found a work around! so i discovered that on "specialty" on any carafe setting the warmer does NOT turn on, not from defect just because it doesnt work that way. So what i did to fix that is i just brew my 5 scoops on specialty full carafe, once its done i click classic and then unclick it real quick. then turn on the warmer and bam! Trickery at its finest ;)

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lee Lee Hi, I've had a few people mention the stay warm button issue. I would suggest calling Ninja and maybe you can exchange the unit.

    • @GramazioBoys3
      @GramazioBoys3 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +bestkitchenreviews thank you for your reply! I discovered its not a broken machine, ninja just doesn't allow the stay warm button on 'specialty'. so I just let it brew the 10oz, then quickly hit classic brew twice. that turns it on the off real quick. then the stay warm button works when I press it 😉

    LOL @ at all the commenters who “just can’t wait” a few extra minutes for coffee to brew. Kudos to Keurig for creating a product that produced an army of impatient coffee cry babies. I guess it’s too much effort for these people to set a start time on the machine to have the coffee ready for them when they get up.

    No disrespect to the reviewer. But this is why Ninja has a big reputation for making junk. This machine is too slow. Talk about "DRIP" coffee, it sure does drip. I now make French Press coffee which is clearly superior over your best drip machine, but I'm always interested in new tech. I saw the Ninja Coffee Bar in person and it's nothing but cheap plastic, as is the rest of their products. If anybody absolutely must need drip, they should get a Keurig. There are also some very nice drip machines with great build quality and faster performance.

      LMAO!!! Ninja makes crap ass products. I kid you not. I certainly have tried them. They all look cheap. The plastic used is cheap. They feel cheap and perform mediocre at best. The fact that you'd say that helps me to understand that you probably buy all your home furnishings at Walmart or the flee market. Not a single professional coffee equipment TH-cam video even mentions this machine, and for good reason. They can't be bothered with junk. Even Keurig gets reviewed by restaurant equipment TH-cam reviewers.
      Ninja's blenders will NEVER be used at Jamba Juice, Smoothie King or Planet Smoothie. And no restaurant would even entertain the notion of using Ninja's "Incredible Products". Wonder why not, if they are so "Incredible". Yeah, they are incredibly bad.

      Most home products are made with Lexan plastic such as this coffee maker. That's nothing unusual. I think this coffee maker is much more solid and of a higher quality than my old Keurigs. Also, what do you mean that it's slow? It's no slower than any maker that I have ever used.The cold coffee functions is by far the best I have tasted coming from this maker and Keurig could never touch it.

      If Ninja didn't have it's usual fanboys defending them I would've taken your comment seriously. Ninja makes cheap junk and most of their fans that tend to buy junk will get defensive if someone speaks the truth about Ninja. Go to Sur La Table or Williams Sonoma and you won't find any premium home coffee machines made of plastic there.
      I've seen multiple coffee machines that resemble the Ninja Coffee Bar at those stores for around $300 that are made of stainless steel and have a commercial-grade build quality, with commercial-quality performance. They are powerful and fast. Ninja is slow at making at what they call "Rich Brew", lol. It's just a marketing term for strong coffee. Premium machines can create a strong brew far quicker. This is why you find the Ninja Coffee Bar at Walmart and on fake TV infomercials. You will never see it in a premium housewares store. It's cheap quality and made to be sold for cheap.
      I have checked out the Ninja Coffee Bar and it feels cheaply built. It does not feel solid. Keurig isn't the best quality either but it's not being marketed as a commercial-quality brewer. Shark-Ninja always promotes their products to be better than other high-end products. They are liars and try and fool customers. They get the most complaints on the internet.

      I disagree, Keurig's make horrible coffee. I've owned three, and none have made even decent coffee.
