    I have this same bag, had it for a while. I can see you havent fully filled the bag which is a mistake from my experience. You must fully inflate it with water, to prevent those big folds at the top (eg 0:45). Over time splits will form where there are folds and your bag will start leaking. Mine split between the dark section at the top and the first red ring down, along the apex of the fold. I have tried to patch mine back up, but the damage is done and water sprays out when i am hitting it. Its just a matter of time till it splits further and water gushes out.
    You must fill the bag to prevent those folds turning into splits. Yes it will make the bag feel harder to punch, but leaving it partially filled will eventually ruin the bag.

    Had mine for over a year now hanging in my backyard in the Vegas weather and it’s held up perfect, no complaints at all, I use it for Muay Thai so the longer bag definitely works best for kicks and such

    This is all my gym has. It's a typical commercial gym, so I'm not disappointed, but it's definitely not suited for bareknuckle strikes. Feels like punching a water bag. I guess they're meant for gloves, which is fine since I have a pair. Just a word of warning. Had the same feeling hitting a teardrop aqua bag without gloves.

    I ordered the "Ringside" one and the black one that's 15.5x37 (LD4 for Polyform) was only $76 likely because of too many in that color. Absolute steal for a bag that can weigh that much and take body shots, kicks, etc

      I’m afraid not a lot of people will have a choice lol.. I managed to get mine hung up after filling it, but damn, 130+ pounds of water just about ended my ass.. take it from someone who can deadlift and squat around 500, flood your damn house before trying to solo dolo these bad boys lol
      Like you said.. hang it, and fill it. Barely any water will come out anyways. My ego took more damage than a wet floor ever will.

    yooo! I got a video idea for you because you seem to know a lot about all kinds of boxing equipment and so on. So you have multiple videos of the best boxing gloves of the year and you have one for boxing shoes for wide feet. So my idea "top 10 boxing shoes" because it would give out information in general over boxing shoes and different types of brands to reach out to, which I need but I truly believe others need that as well. :)

    I followed your video of the other style of buoy/aqua bag, and I as well used a chain to hang mine. Would you have any reason against using some sort of high strength rope instead? Or maybe even a ratchet strap of some sort? I know my bag is about 130lb, so it’s not light, but are chains the BEST option in your opinion? I also have a spring, basically the entire setup from the original video.

    Interesting - I just saw your other video about the round aqua training bag. The difference I see between the round bag and this buoy bag is the stiffness. The round bag was a lot stiffer than this buoy bag. This buoy bag seems floppy and loose. Not firm, at all. Must have something to do with the shape and how the water is contained in that shape. In fact, I noticed in this whole 11 minute video that you never beat the snots out of this buoy bag the way you did with the round aqua bag. Were you trying to not show a major flaw in its' design? Would we get more "real feel" by hitting a pillow hanging from a rope than from this buoy bag?

    • @MrSoggyjocks
      @MrSoggyjocks 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a great bag for body shots, because it is so long. But the reason this bag looks loose is because it is under filled. You can see those big folds at the top of the bag, they wouldnt be there if the bag was fully filled. Those folds will cause the rubber to split over time, ruining the bag (i have the exact same one and it happened to me). Because the split is at the top of the bag, when you hit it water sprays out into your face haha. So it needs to as full as you can get it to prevent those folds. But when you fully fill the bag, it becomes much firmer to hit and harder on the wrists and hands. I am going to buy another one, even though my first one split, i am just going to make sure its inflated properly.

  • @carpecursus

      Yes it’s part of the rotation and easier on joints for sure

  • @STBRetired1
    @STBRetired1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    These are NOT Aquabags. These are boat BUOYS. I just saw on another video where the loop that holds the bag tends to break. The problem is people trying to save a dollar by using something for which it wasn't intended. The Aquabag is made to be filled with water and punched. These Polyform BUOYS are meant to be filled with AIR and be a cushion between a boat and a dock. If you fill it with water then it will stretch those holes and they weren't made to be stretched. Save a dollar and have a flooded apartment. The people living below you will understand, right? Oh, the water adapter is probably to partially fill the buoy with water so it floats vertically in the water as a marker for a lobster pot. Just a guess.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which is why the Aqua Bag (the one ive reviewed and used) is made by Taylor Made buoys under the same material and specs, just rebranded with cool colors and designs. But you already knew that.

    • @STBRetired1
      @STBRetired1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@csquaredboxing The parent company may make both Taylor Made buoys and Aqua Bag but that doesn't mean that they are using the same materials and specs. Ford makes Ford, Lincoln and Mercury (for awhile). There can be overlap in colors but the engineering that goes into a product determines what the specs will be. Aqua Bags are meant to be filled with water, hung and are heavy. That loop hole is designed to withstand that stress. A boat buoy is meant to be filled with air or partially with water. Here's a link to the video where a gym owner is starting to have problems by using buoys for punching bags - th-cam.com/video/B_uBpFkjOb4/w-d-xo.html. It CAN be done but be sure if a leak starts that it's not going to destroy your property or that of people living below you.
