    Power cleans were, in fact, very common in the 3 lift's era. Especially in the Clean & Press. The strength lift and ultimate symbol of power back then (The Press was discontinued in 1972 by the IWF).

    • @carlosojeda6795

      why were they discontinued?

    • @09thespecialone
      @09thespecialone 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@carlosojeda6795 The lift became difficult to judge. Rather than fixing it by enforcing the rules, they simply dropped it (by the late 60’s, the Press was not strict anymore. Weightlifters in order to move more weight, by all means necessary, transformed this strict shoulder movement into a bastardized standing incline bench press).

    • @09thespecialone
      @09thespecialone 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carlosojeda6795 Power cleans were indissociable from presses. The Press was more of a strength lift not an explosive one like the others (snatch and jerk). In order to save the most energy for the Press itself, the most efficient way was by doing a crisp power clean with the less output of energy. Because the Press, when strictly executed, is a brutal exercise.

      they don't pay much attention to diet, just a regular Chinese diet that you can find in any Chinese restaurant close to you, probably a bit less salty and greasy. in fact, most weightlifting athletes from many nations have regular everyday diet of their country; when asked about it they all respond the same that it's the technique and strength training that makes the difference and diet doesn't play a role in their profession. But of course, what they don't say nevertheless take for granted is that the guys in the national weightlifting team are all genetic freaks.

      Serious answer, most professional athletes across any given sports of certain significance (money, fame, reputation, etc.) are not natural, especially the selected few who are on the very top of their respective games. That being said, taking unnatural supplements don't automatically make you a top athlete, imagine thousands of athletes taking these supplements but still need to train and live their lives to compete to be the very best. It takes nothing away from them, but its a sad reality that they have to take things even they know it will hurt their lives later in life.

    So.... Wait they are not wearing masks???
