If you think about it Zenitsu is the bravest of them all. Courage isn’t the absence of fear, it is being strong enough to do what must be done no matter how terrified you are. And Zenitsu is absolutely petrified.
I would love to see a legit origins story on zenitsu. From what ever happened to his parents, the first demon he killed, when he fist started his training and so forth

He seems like the INFJ sensitive type. Sensitive types tend to be introspective and wise, but also easily scared because they feel all emotions v strongly.
Zenitsu is one of my favourite characters in Demon Slayer, amazing character development with how he eventually becomes to be braver and believe in himself

Uzui is a sound hashira and it's derived from thunder breathing maybe that's why tanjiro water breathing worked for him for a while him and urokodaki both got good sense of smell
Zenitsu has practiced so much that he could basically be a god with that one move, but because of his personality his mind is constantly clouded with doubts and other stuff which destroys his concentration making hum unable to actually use his move. But once he falls asleep he no longer thinks and muscle memory takes over, his mind can't hold him back because he's basically not thinking about anything his body is just reacting based on the training he's received and that's what makes his sleeping state terrifying
Muichiro also made a new form (mist breathing: seventh form: obscuring clouds) Rengoku made a new form (flame breathing: ninth form: rengoku/purgatory) Also many hashira create their own forms: shinobu, iguro, mitsuri, tengen. Technically all of those above also created their own breathing forms too. So saying that’s a feat only done by Giyu also is wrong but it’s still very impressive that he achieved a feat that only hashira ever accomplish. He actually does it twice lmao: beating an upper moon solo is a hashira level feat and creating his own form is also a hashira level feat! Thinking of it like this tho it seems like he’s copying tokito lmao
I would highly recommend it, it gives some stuff that they left out of the anime, and it allows you to appreciate some earlier foreshadowing in the amine
Zenitsu invented his own form in an already discovered breathing technique and he is hashira level. But my boi inosuke invented a whole breathing technique by himself which then should be beyond hashira level.
I think what’s more impressive than him inventing a new breathing style, is that he invented it without knowing about breathing styles at all. Every other breathing style is a derivative of sun breathing, but beast breathing was created without knowing about sun breathing
You know how you said that Giyu was the only one to ever create another form to his breathing technique? Well, there was another Hashira who did the same. Muichiro created the seventh form of mist breathing. It is remarked by Kokushibo that he had never seen mist breathing’s seventh form leading him to the conclusion that Muichiro created it. So Muichiro and Giyu both created their own forms.

He did use Godspeed on Daki, but Gyutaro had already awakened and boosted her power. So it's not that he couldn't...but that it wasn't enough at the time. (Injuries, plus Daki had prepared a stronger obi neck to avoid being decapitated.)
@@TPixelAdventures I don’t think daki being awake makes daki’s neck sturdier. Their main thing is teamwork, daki’s obi’s can be control by gyutaro if need be plus he can see what’s happening. Nothing states that she got physically stronger or more durable. And zenitsu never used god speed against daki before this moment. He can only use it once a day (from the manga) or twice (in the manga). First time he did it was stated to be when he got out the rubble

Zenitsu is probably my favorite character in the series.. And i love how much detail was given about his character here... However i would have to say that the term Oiran was incorrectly pronounced.. If i remember correctly, it sounds more like Oy-ran and not O-ri-an
18:14 I dont know which one is the proper translation but in most versions I have seen, Zenitsu rather says something along the lines of "I wanted to fight alongside you someday, while using this form."
The fact these trio can sense things and even things you cant sense in real life(like for example zenitsu can hear things even if the place is blocked by wierd demon blood art he still was able to hear where the sound come from) Makes it a lot better ngl and im proud hes one of the characters in anime who took unconsious sleeping on another level. Its almost like something gets into his body when hes unconsious like a master thunder hashira lol
Zenitsu is personally my favourite character, his comedy and badass hype moments are entertaining, and he also embodies how any of us would react to finding out demons exist
You dumb dumb, the mangaka himself confirmed that the demon slayer are NORMAL human wielding katana. That’s it. They got no super power to straight up summon water out of thin air nor do they capable of summoning tornado. They are animation to make the battle more fluid and enganging.

i am so damn proud of his development throughout the series! once everything gets animated i am waiting for someone to make an AMV for him with the song FLASH by queen, or at least the first few seconds of it, besides the movie quotes part of the song i think it could fit him
The weak can not determine their own death though zenitsu is portrayed as weak one day he will unlock the potential that built up inside of him that’s why i love his character design so much

To be honest I believe that Zenitsu has multiple personality disorder in his subconscious as a side effect of the trauma from the lightning strike that hit him it created a second more courageous personality which comes out during stress is why he did not remember the final exam arc and fighting the demon from the demon mansion arc if anyone noticed his personality changed during those 2 times and as he had character growth during the series his subconscious personality merged with his conscious personality
Nah, Zenitsu doesn’t have a second personality. First thing to understand about Zenitsu is that, due to his hearing, he is completely aware of his surroundings even when he’s asleep. While Zenitsu is asleep he dreams that he is strong and has the courage to take on the Demons, and due to his awareness while sleeping, his “dreams” are an exact reflection of what’s happening in reality. Zenitsu falls asleep, dreams that he’s fighting a demon, wakes up to find that the battle actually took place, but in his cowardice and lack of self-esteem, he’s in denial that he was the one to actually fight and defaults to believing someone else fought the demon.
Only one out of the three main characters, and also Kaigaku was pretty much a "blank spot filler", the only one to solo an actual Upper rank was Muichiro Tokito

Tbh i still think out of the 3 zenitsu is the most powerful. Yes tanjiro has the sun breath, but zenitsu had developed so far while only mastering one breath. Also if he does move as fast as thunder then clearly thats a statement itself. I just think hes much more versatile than the others especially making his own breaths such as godspeed

Zenitsu is a somewhat strange case though, in that he's had the least physical growth, having been extremely strong from the get go, but held back by his cowardice until he fell unconscious.
no, not really. the Esoteric Art is nearly as fast as thunderclap and flash and Akaza still reflected it. And with the current level Zenitsu was at i doubt he had the strength to cut off Akaza's head. and without the ability to do so, the fight would be pointless as Akaza would just dispose of Zenitsu to focus on Rengoku

Well he could of but at the time he would of needed to be knocked out and you are forgetting that at least during that time his thunder clap and flash needed somewhat of a charge up as we saw against the spiders where he kept getting moved and therefore couldn't use the technique until he stood still
I really hope inosuke gets a power up ! I hope it's like a berserker mode where he's completely immune to pain and exhaustion and slashes like a crazy animal with a large speed, agility and power boost or something animalistic like that
I think you should consider the difference between being afraid and being a coward. Perhaps you could discover a distinction between the two with this character. I remember considering him to be very brave because he was afraid, but stuck it through regardless. You can't be brave without being afraid.
Tbh if anything i think All 4 of them are equal to hashiras Tanjiro with his Hinokami kagura and water breathing and inosuke may be hard headed but he is actually skilled some what like Azui? I think as for zenitsu and the girl who inherited Flower Breathing they are also equal to hashiras and its probably cause of their mental traumas thats keeping them from showing their true skills

@@trenageddon6465 I'm pretty sure that kanao has always been far ahead than the three since the beginning but they are able to keep up with her after the hashira training, and I would say that her, Zenitsu and inosuke are on the same level, as for tanjiro he's above them because he has demon slayer mark and uses hinokami kagura. And yes, she's more than strong enough to be hashira level. Infact among the four of them she's the only one who really met the requirements to be a hashira since she is a tsuguko and if the hashira died their tsuguko will take their place. Zenitsu is able to kill a weak uppermoon by himself but he can't be considered a hashira because his rank isn't kinoe
Here is just my personal head canon.... Since his flashback when was fighting with Kaikaku stated that the first form of thunder breathing is original technique of thunder breathing while the other forms are just its derivatives. So, I believe that Zenistu would be able to perform all forms of Thunder breathing after the his fight with Kaikaku as well as Muzan. Because he has mastered the first form which allow him being able to analyse and dissect other forms more easily.

Zenitsu is my favorite character in Demon Slayer... But, in the first part of the manga/anime, a hype is created about Zenitsu true power.. And we wait, he do things cool, but never have a worthy opponent. And wait... We have the Spider Demons, but he dies in a Hit-Kill. And wait... We have Daki, but she is not a true Upper Demon, and is weak compared to others Upper Demons. And wait... We have Kaigaku that is the Weakest Upper Demon, and died with a Hit-Kill. And wait... And we have Muzan, that Zenitsu didn't stand a chance against. All we got is Hit-Kill or Die. We never get a fair fight, we never see what is the true power of Zenitsu 100% vs 100%... At least zenitsu has a character evolution throughout the series. But we never gonna know if he is strongher or weaker..

I enjoy the the story of Zenitsu, but not how it's told honestly. There's so much depth to his character we just don't get and just shoves in how much he likes Nezuko consistently. Which is fine, but there are so many other parts I'm curious about. What was it like growing up as an orphan, did he live on the streets, how was he treated, was he abandoned or just separated from his parents? Why couldn't we have met Kaigaku earlier to get to know his character more since it cheapens this character development to meet a character that is so important in the last arc of the manga. Why was his inner self a black void with a malnourished version of himself there? The lesson of "just get over your self hatred" is very unrealistic but I consider that just a Japanese cultural thing. My main problem with Demon Slayer will always be having great characters, great motivations for these characters, but eat dirt if ya wanna see them have meaningful interactions with each other.
I agree. He is my favourite character because I saw a lot of potential for growth with him, but the author just gives him a few serious moments and then he’s basically back to how he usually is. I think the author just used him mostly for comedic relief.
I honestly wasn’t sure if anyone else would feel this way about the series cuz it’s so well loved. I did like it, and it has so many good moments, but after finishing the anime and manga, I felt…. Unsatisfied. There were other characters whose development lasted only one episode or arc really and never developed further. And in the manga, we don’t get to know a number of them until the very end. So it was hard for me to really get invested in them like I did Tanjiro. Zenitsu has so much story potential in him but not much of it is really shown imo. Compare this to how much growth and development we see in Tanjiro. We hear his thoughts, we see him struggle and work hard to change and improve himself. While we do get to see Zenitsu and Inosuke’s backstories, I feel like they could have kept going in more depth. I wish they did. I get it. Tanjiro and Nezuko are the stars of the show, but I would’ve liked to see the other characters get fleshed out more.
i like how ,sometime he is suddenly so serious in the way he talked. Despite of all his childish behaviour ,he have a mature side which actually nake his character more fun. Specially when he need to act as elder brother of the trio.

I wish I could go unconscious and fully objective oriented for all the stuff I did shivering in fear in my life, exams, driving test, military shit, stage, As much as I tell myself as I get older this will pass, everything "scary" that happens is always a new first time and the fear kicks in then where I find myself shaking uncontrollably just like Zenitsu for every thing that pushes me out of my comfort zone. I am well aware of how self-development works, not complaining just pointing out that it would be so cool to perform hard tasks near perfectly oriented without fighting myself half to death against an irrational and uncontrollable fear.
One thing that happened bad about kaigaku is that kokushibo was the one who came up to him and he couldn’t do anything because it was upper noon 1 so it was turn into a demon or death and he was scared so much that he just became a demon
There were quite a lot of hashiras who developed their own forms, first off giyu (which you mentioned) then rengoku, (form 9: rengoku), muichiro (Form 7: Obscuring Clouds) and finally (this one sorta counts) Mitsuri since she just developed a whole breathing which means she created all the forms, also shinobu since she created Insect breathing.

I’ve never actually seen the demon slayer manga so it’s kinda amazing how faithful a lot of the anime is in terms of design to the manga
I would highly recommend it, it gives some stuff that they left out of the anime, and it allows you to appreciate some earlier foreshadowing in the amine
Zenitsu invented his own form in an already discovered breathing technique and he is hashira level. But my boi inosuke invented a whole breathing technique by himself which then should be beyond hashira level.

I think what’s more impressive than him inventing a new breathing style, is that he invented it without knowing about breathing styles at all. Every other breathing style is a derivative of sun breathing, but beast breathing was created without knowing about sun breathing

You know how you said that Giyu was the only one to ever create another form to his breathing technique? Well, there was another Hashira who did the same. Muichiro created the seventh form of mist breathing. It is remarked by Kokushibo that he had never seen mist breathing’s seventh form leading him to the conclusion that Muichiro created it. So Muichiro and Giyu both created their own forms.

He did use Godspeed on Daki, but Gyutaro had already awakened and boosted her power.
So it's not that he couldn't...but that it wasn't enough at the time. (Injuries, plus Daki had prepared a stronger obi neck to avoid being decapitated.)
@@TPixelAdventures I don’t think daki being awake makes daki’s neck sturdier. Their main thing is teamwork, daki’s obi’s can be control by gyutaro if need be plus he can see what’s happening. Nothing states that she got physically stronger or more durable. And zenitsu never used god speed against daki before this moment. He can only use it once a day (from the manga) or twice (in the manga). First time he did it was stated to be when he got out the rubble

Zenitsu is probably my favorite character in the series.. And i love how much detail was given about his character here... However i would have to say that the term Oiran was incorrectly pronounced.. If i remember correctly, it sounds more like Oy-ran and not O-ri-an

The fact these trio can sense things and even things you cant sense in real life(like for example zenitsu can hear things even if the place is blocked by wierd demon blood art he still was able to hear where the sound come from) Makes it a lot better ngl and im proud hes one of the characters in anime who took unconsious sleeping on another level. the fact that at the mountain, while defeating that one spider demon dude, he actually created the lightning and it wasn’t just the animation-
You dumb dumb, the mangaka himself confirmed that the demon slayer are NORMAL human wielding katana. That’s it. They got no super power to straight up summon water out of thin air nor do they capable of summoning tornado. They are animation to make the battle more fluid and enganging.

To be honest I believe that Zenitsu has multiple personality disorder in his subconscious as a side effect of the trauma from the lightning strike that hit him it created a second more courageous personality which comes out during stress is why he did not remember the final exam arc and fighting the demon from the demon mansion arc if anyone noticed his personality changed during those 2 times and as he had character growth during the series his subconscious personality merged with his conscious personality
Nah, Zenitsu doesn’t have a second personality. First thing to understand about Zenitsu is that, due to his hearing, he is completely aware of his surroundings even when he’s asleep. While Zenitsu is asleep he dreams that he is strong and has the courage to take on the Demons, and due to his awareness while sleeping, his “dreams” are an exact reflection of what’s happening in reality.
Zenitsu falls asleep, dreams that he’s fighting a demon, wakes up to find that the battle actually took place, but in his cowardice and lack of self-esteem, he’s in denial that he was the one to actually fight and defaults to believing someone else fought the demon.

Tbh i still think out of the 3 zenitsu is the most powerful. Yes tanjiro has the sun breath, but zenitsu had developed so far while only mastering one breath. Also if he does move as fast as thunder then clearly thats a statement itself.

@@iam_pickl7073 I'd argue that Zenitsu is consistently the strongest until arguably the last quarter of the story, where the other two catch up and (specifically Tanjiro) show off their growth. Zenitsu is a somewhat strange case though, in that he's had the least physical growth, having been extremely strong from the get go, but held back by his cowardice until he fell unconscious.
He is at least in the anime. Tanjiro is hanging with the upper moon 6 and he just learned Hinokami Kagura. Zenitsu is way stronger atm

no, not really. the Esoteric Art is nearly as fast as thunderclap and flash and Akaza still reflected it. And with the current level Zenitsu was at i doubt he had the strength to cut off Akaza's head. and without the ability to do so, the fight would be pointless as Akaza would just dispose of Zenitsu to focus on Rengoku

Well he could of but at the time he would of needed to be knocked out and you are forgetting that at least during that time his thunder clap and flash needed somewhat of a charge up as we saw against the spiders where he kept getting moved and therefore couldn't use the technique until he stood still

I think you should consider the difference between being afraid and being a coward. Perhaps you could discover a distinction between the two with this character. I remember considering him to be very brave because he was afraid, but stuck it through regardless. You can't be brave without being afraid.
Tbh if anything i think All 4 of them are equal to hashiras Tanjiro with his Hinokami kagura and water breathing and inosuke may be hard headed but he is actually skilled some what like Azui? I think as for zenitsu and the girl who inherited Flower Breathing they are also equal to hashiras and its probably cause of their mental traumas thats keeping them from showing their true skills

@@trenageddon6465 I'm pretty sure that kanao has always been far ahead than the three since the beginning but they are able to keep up with her after the hashira training, and I would say that her, Zenitsu and inosuke are on the same level, as for tanjiro he's above them because he has demon slayer mark and uses hinokami kagura. And yes, she's more than strong enough to be hashira level. Infact among the four of them she's the only one who really met the requirements to be a hashira since she is a tsuguko and if the hashira died their tsuguko will take their place. Zenitsu is able to kill a weak uppermoon by himself but he can't be considered a hashira because his rank isn't kinoe
The thing that made me the happier at the end was just the thought that he possibly worked fine with Nezuko.

His physical skill is already refined even with only a few technique he is already close to hashira level
Here is just my personal head canon.... Since his flashback when was fighting with Kaikaku stated that the first form of thunder breathing is original technique of thunder breathing while the other forms are just its derivatives. So, I believe that Zenistu would be able to perform all forms of Thunder breathing after the his fight with Kaikaku as well as Muzan. Because he has mastered the first form which allow him being able to analyse and dissect other forms more easily.

And we have Muzan, that Zenitsu didn't stand a chance against.
All we got is Hit-Kill or Die.
We never get a fair fight, we never see what is the true power of Zenitsu 100% vs 100%...
At least zenitsu has a character evolution throughout the series.

I enjoy the the story of Zenitsu, but not how it's told honestly. There's so much depth to his character we just don't get and just shoves in how much he likes Nezuko consistently. Which is fine, but there are so many other parts I'm curious about. What was it like growing up as an orphan, did he live on the streets, how was he treated, was he abandoned or just separated from his parents? Why couldn't we have met Kaigaku earlier to get to know his character more since it cheapens this character development to meet a character that is so important in the last arc of the manga. Why was his inner self a black void with a malnourished version of himself there? The lesson of "just get over your self hatred" is very unrealistic but I consider that just a Japanese cultural thing.
My main problem with Demon Slayer will always be having great characters, great motivations for these characters, but eat dirt if ya wanna see them have meaningful interactions with each other.
I agree. He is my favourite character because I saw a lot of potential for growth with him, but the author just gives him a few serious moments and then he’s basically back to how he usually is. I think the author just used him mostly for comedic relief.

I honestly wasn’t sure if anyone else would feel this way about the series cuz it’s so well loved.
I did like it, and it has so many good moments, but after finishing the anime and manga, I felt…. Unsatisfied. There were other characters whose development lasted only one episode or arc really and never developed further. And in the manga, we don’t get to know a number of them until the very end. So it was hard for me to really get invested in them like I did Tanjiro.
Zenitsu has so much story potential in him but not much of it is really shown imo. Compare this to how much growth and development we see in Tanjiro. We hear his thoughts, we see him struggle and work hard to change and improve himself. While we do get to see Zenitsu and Inosuke’s backstories, I feel like they could have kept going in more depth. I wish they did.
I get it. Tanjiro and Nezuko are the stars of the show, but I would’ve liked to see the other characters get fleshed out more.

Well I actually wasn't talking about the technicality of the battles... when talk about that obviously Zenitsu isn't the MVP, but if Zenitsu didn't start screaming to Tanjirou to continue living it might be too late to notice and save Tanjirou... Kanao only noticed after Zenitsu and Nezuko tried their best to get Tanjirou back to his own conscious from being possessed by Muzan.

I wish I could go unconscious and fully objective oriented for all the stuff I did shivering in fear in my life, exams, driving test, military shit, stage, As much as I tell myself as I get older this will pass, everything "scary" that happens is always a new first time and the fear kicks in then where I find myself shaking uncontrollably just like Zenitsu for every thing that pushes me out of my comfort zone. I am well aware of how self-development works, not complaining just pointing out that it would be so cool to perform hard tasks near perfectly oriented without fighting myself half to death against an irrational and uncontrollable fear.

There were quite a lot of hashiras who developed their own forms, first off giyu (which you mentioned) then rengoku, (form 9: rengoku), muichiro (Form 7: Obscuring Clouds) and finally (this one sorta counts) Mitsuri since she just developed a whole breathing which means she created all the forms, also shinobu since she created Insect breathing.
I like to think the way that he fights in his sleep is that he controlls his real body in his dreams, and that his dreams reflect reality.
