I find it beautiful how the ones to master Sun Breathing were not Demon Slayers, but rather a peaceful family of workers.
And not because the technique was impossible, but rather because as we know, Yoriichi was a pure and kind-hearted person, so by practising the technique as a dance, with no ill will or killer instinct, the Kamado managed to grasp the core of it.

I mean yoriichi only showed him the sun breathing techniques once but he perfectly memorized them and converted the forms into dance steps that matches the forms perfectly...if that ain't god tier memory i dont know what is.....

He’s actually lucky he didn’t meet Tanjiro’s ancestors sooner. And also that they didn’t join the Demon slayer’s or else he would’ve died a lot sooner actually. Tanjiro said he’s the worst of the sun dancers and his dad was actually a beast without demon slayer training. He was Bound to run into that family tree especially cause he kept turning ppl into demons. Imagine if his dad or grandpa became demon slayers they would’ve solo the whole upper’s.
Another thing that made the Kamado family special and probably resulted in Nezuko gaining sun immunity was that the mom used to make them food/tea with the blue spider lilies that Muzan had been seeking. It only bloomed in sunlight, hence why he and his minions could never find it. If he'd only tried to charm them and talk to them first he might've gotten some of that blue spider lily.

The Kamados ended up learning Sun breathing despite the most powerful demon slayers struggling because the Kamados practiced the the breathing as a dance not as a fighting technique. Repeated performance enabled them to master the technique without having to pickup a sword.

@@tiberianexcalibur Not really a coincidence as the Kamado clan were just really dedicated to honoring and continuing the legacy of their ancestors. The later generations didn't even know that they are actually performing Sun breathing as the knowledge of it slowly faded through time.
@shinatsuji7503 I heard somewhere that the Kamado's ability was that they were able to execute a technique after they had seen it used, it makes sense seen as Yoriichi never actually trained them, he just did the dance once and that was that.
Funfact : the house that sumiyoshi and his family lives is originally belong to yoriichi and uta(yoriichi's wife)...sumiyoshi and his wife found that house abandoned due to yoriichi left after uta's death....after that yoriichi visits his house after a long time only to find someone is living in that house who are none other than sumiyoshi and his wife ...and that how they met each other.
And in the back of that very house where Uta was buried, there grew the blue spider lillies.

I like the idea that the kamados were able to adapt their bodies to sun breathing overtime. I think that the reason yoruichi was the only one able to use sun breathing is because he spent so much time and focus on love and caring for his mother. Where all the other forms were born out of a need to kill only. It’s like the warmth of compassion is the secret ingredient to sun breathing
The Kamado family did pass down the Hinokami Kagura to the modern age though. It’s in the manga and they perform it every year in a festival so that if demons ever come back, the dance is known

Tanjuro is Yoriichi in reincarnation. He has the same hair and born with the demon slayer mark. He lives how Yoriichi always wanted. To live in peace and have a family. Tanjiro is the reincarnation of Sumiyoshi. The resemblance of both are massive.

In Japanese, the word "Tanjiro" literally means "High Valued Second Son". But As we know that Tanjiro is the Eldest among his Siblings. And in the past, Yoriichi was the High valued second son and this hints that maybe Tanjiro is the actual Reincarnation of Yoriichi. Both of their Hair Color and Demon Slayer mark is the same and both of them had demon siblings.

Enraged Tanjiro fighting daki on that roof spoke the same words yorichii did when he faced muzan and pondered the amusement of Killing humans and toying with human life. Word from word it was the exact same proven by muzan ptsd triggering a flashback within daki. Even in recent episode in swordsmith village. Hantengu can literally sense/see the spirit of yorichii within tanjiro as he was preparing the hinokami.

If I remember correctly, in the special chapter that came out after the ending. We learned than Tanjiro’s family still does Dance of the Fire God, they. Id remember if Nezuko’s side of the family does though.

I believe Kamado family has the perfect demon slayer body after Yoriichi. Since Tanjiro posses superhuman nose/smelling Kamado family has strengths that surpasses human like photographic memory since Sumiyoshi memorized and was able to perform the sun breathing. And imagine the toll to perform sun breathing they're already superhuman level and also they can think fast (when tanjiro is fighting tomioka) my mans caught off guard he was almost killed by an axe by a child who doesn't held a sword or fight for his life til muzan killed them.
I mean Tanjiro’s mother gave them tea made from the blue spider lilies. Since their family knew where it was grown perhaps all the generations have been able to complete the dance thanks to the extra strength given to them by the lily. I personally believe Muzan would’ve been able to walk out in the sun prior to murdering his doctor and the act of murder and cannibalism caused him to be cursed by the gods to never walk in the sun again. Makes sense right?

Kamado's are prodigies. Sumiyoshi remembered it by seeing it once and even converted it to a dance for being able to use it while maintaining it's authenticity.

We know the demon slayer mark doesn’t actually kill the user, it was just muzan and the demons (mainly Kokushibo) hunting down and killing all the marked slayers extremely quickly, hence the “curse” origins.
Kokushibo said that they all began to die even before he was a demon. One of the main reasons he became a demon was to avoid dying to the mark and in hopes of catching up to his brother.
They died from the overuse of it with their weaker bodies. Sun breathers can use it no problem without dying from it thanks to them having the rawest possible strength, I think Tanjuro died because he left his vacant and never activated it so it has reverse effects and slowly killed him from the inside. Tanjiro got his mark during final selection and didn’t even notice cause he believed it to just be a scar from a wound. Later on in the entertainment district he truly awakened the power in his and it changed to the one of sun breathes where it’s strictly on that one side of the forehead. Plus he has the added benefit of drinking tea made from the Blue Spider Lily which I believe is what gave his whole bloodline the strength to use Sun Breathing cause of it’s otherworldly power

I still have a fan theory that tanjiros ancestor that met yurrichi was one of the children that upper moon 1 has abandoned and that him being related to yurrichi (upper moon 1 and yurrichi were identical twins so same dna) is the reason why their family possessed the bodies that could use sun breathing. And since upper moon 1 abandoned his children so young, none of them would know what he looked like. I poster it on reddit in depth but based on what we see in the manga we see breath styles being based on what your body can handle and that along with hair color being inherited from parents. It also explains why they have the same demon slayer marks despite upper moon 1 never using sun breathing
I don't think so. If I remember correctly, there was a scene, when Tanjiro got his first sword and blacksmith said, that lifestyle of the family of swordman was a big factor of his breathing style compatibility. We know, that Kamado family worked with fire for centuries and they did practice sun breathing as a dance for many generations. I think early adopters weren't good at this, but with time some members of the family were able to master the technics or even manifest other traits like demon slayer mark.
I think connecting Kamado family to Yorichi's family is anticlimactic in a big way. In a way making true bonds by friendship and dedication for passing down the knowledge of their saviour was amazing and heartwarming. Additionally with this news, we were shown, that people other than Yorichi and not related to him can master sun breathing. We know for sure, that other styles are inferior and without sun breather there won't be demon slayer mark, which is essential to manifest red glow on the blade of slayers.
@@Quxer0721 i get your point on the sentiment of it but that still leaves the gap of why tanjiro, yurrichi, and upper moon 1 have identical demon slayer marks despite different breath styles. When the others manifest their marks we see they have to do with the breath style naturally suited to them. I think the sentiment still remains if they're biologically related. Sumiyoshi wouldn't know yurrichi is family and would only regard him as a friend. Like how someone can be your father without being biologically related. I think tanjiro's lifestyle made him an ideal candidate for water breathing but throughout the show we constantly see that tanjiro's body rejects the technique. I think that's why the family relationship makes sense because we've only seen a single person with the body for sun breathing. It also makes me wonder why give 5 people red hair and they all be males but 3 are related and the other 2 are related with no link in between other than a chance meeting. It seems too coincidental
@@jayceewilliams5250 I think Sumiyoshi is too old to be a son of Michikatsu. Just think. We see Yoriichi in his physical peek at about 24 (age before dying of slayers with the mark). At that time he saved Kamado family and that was few years prior to the scene, where he showed them sun breathing. I don't think Sumiyoshi had two children at the age of 12-13 (Michikatsu needed to have him at exactly that age too).
Aside of age I think the marks are really easy to explain. Yoriichi and every Kamado's family member were predisposed to sun breathing, hence they have the same mark. As for Michikatsu I am a little less confident. I think here we have a problem, where they're being twins and moon breathing being the closest to mimic sun breathing made them have the same mark. Or just author being lazy just reused the same pattern and later on added different for new styles. Here I don't have a good answear.

@Anphy George 9th C yes, i know that, but it doesn't explain them having the same red hair in all of japan, the fact that tanjiro ancestor was strong enough to do the dance despite no demon slayer at the time being able to do sun breathing. It also doesn't explain why a moon breather and sun breather have the same demon slayer mark. Despite us seeing different users of different styles awake different marks. That's why i think slayer marks are not breath specific, but something genetic.

it also makes 0 sense to the manga and anime as you the fire that people use glide forward or water to do so how does the author explain those moments? as physically I dont think even air couldn't cut at the exact points the author wanted for the narrative. imma say its still cannon for me the effects not being there makes every form in demon slayer all of a sudden logical where logic isn't needed.

I think Tanjiro shouldve kept passing down the Hinokami Kagura dance to his descendants, not for absurd strength in the modern world. But incase another demon attack ever comes in the future. Muzan's demon powers came from a doctor who gave him the blue spider lily to try to cure his disease, rather than curing his disease it turned him into a demon. But before he noticed any changes from the blue spider lily he killed the doctor out of rage because nothing was working to cure him. So what if another doctor game about trying to cure a patient with the blue spider lily and the doctor makes another demon completely by accident. Tanjiro's descendants will have to fight against the demon with sun breathing in order to keep demons out of the world

idk why but the ending that the demon slayers and demons were just myths and the beautiful dances were not passed on saddens me. i always get sad when writers cut away from the protagonists that we've grown to love and care for and to introduce new ones, even if it's in a new era.

i'm pretty sure the hashira can easily copy the sun breathing moves if it's intended for "dance purpose" only, not for being used in battle....sun breathing isnt compatible with them, like how tanjiro said hinokami kagura drain his energy way too fast....so, it's definitely not efficient to be used in fight...thus why they need easier version of fighting style...kamado family mostly perform hinokami kagura just as a dance....although tanjiro's dad able to actually used it in battle...i guess the family finally became compatible with the sun breathing after they practiced it for several generations...

None. They were most likely using classic japanese martial arts (kenjutsu, iajutsu etc). They already had nichirin swords and wisteria. Ganging together on a weak demon was enough to kill it but even so they were probably dying like flies.
They were using Demon Slaying swords but that's it.

The sun breathing dance was never passed down maybe because of Tanjiro killing the last demon and he died early compared with his sister never learned the moves because it only been passed down to the male descendants he didn’t have the chance to because he died at age 25.
Zenitsu also combined Flame with his first form. Creating his own version of the move "Rengoku" Called "Flaming thunder god!" It's clear that they shared breathing techniques in order to improve. Since Zenitsu probably tried using fire breathing.....It probably turned into flame since fire can only be mastered by certain individuals. The same way Tanjiro's Lightning moves were much weaker than Zenitsu's.
So the Swordsmen before breathing styles was so badass that went after demons knowing how out gunned they were, thats pretty cool.

Tanjuro isn't sick, he can successfully pass down the techniques in form of hinokami kagura, tanjiro masters it, and the other 3 siblings do too, with tanjiro having proficiency even over water breathing and breath of lightning. Just imagine. If they ain't blitzing Muzan, idk who is.
EDIT: Imo, Tanjiro didn't get enough time to develop his body, stamina and importantly, sun breathing and its 13th form after he learned about it cuz of the spontaneous attack against Muzan. Had he got like 5 more years, he could've been as good as yoriichi with the right guidance.
Still don't fully understand how Nezuko developed sun immunity. Himokami Kagura altered their DNA somehow? It's just a dance...
Later in the manga it’s revealed that Tanjiro’s mother knew the Blue Spider Lily location, and prepared a soup for her family when they were little. Some people say this is reason of Nezuko’s hability.
I don’t think this is the actual reason, however. We know that not everyone can use sun breathing (just Yorichi, Tanjiro and his ancestors) as it’s not a matter of strength. Urokodaki mentions that people like Tanjiro are chosen by the sun (due to the colour of his eyes and hair), which could be the reason why Tanjiro is even able to perform the dance in the first place, as well as his ancestors. Nezuko’s immunity could come from the fact that the Kamado family carries Yorichi’s legacy, even though they aren’t related to him by blood.

@@danix454 It's not a matter of realism but logical consistency. The best magic/supernatural systems in fiction still maintain a certain degree of logic to help structure the story and maintain a degree of tension. If things can happen randomly out of the blue then it's easy to lose the audience as they're too busy scratching their heads. The earlier comment about Tanjiro's mother serving him and Nezuko soup made from the Blue Spider Lily would add the dose of logic needed to make sense as to why they gain sun immunity as demons. That flower was what turned Muzan into a demon in the first place and he's been looking for it to perfect his demonic form so it would make perfect sense if it was also the reason why Nezuko became sun immune.

I find it beautiful how the fall of the demons first started with the killing of the kamado family and the end of their fall also started with that . The only times the humans had a chance was when the demons ( musan ) decided to kill a simple honest family

The Kamados do know the dance still in the modern age. It is just a dance now though since demons aren't a concern anymore.
I still think they are somehow related, like yeah he taught them the breathing style but they still have more Abilitiies similar to Yoriichi.

After The Legendary Swordsman tanjiro probably the only one who killed demons using sun breathing. Throughout the series tanjiro is the only one who can use 2 types of defferent breathing styles the Sun Breathing and Water Breathing.
