@@truthwinseverytime8805 ohhh I think you will be happy with these models' rotary effect, I've tried playing on the CT-S500 and the rotary effect has different types and the speed of the spinning effect can be tweaked or adjusted. I too have also played with a B3 before, and the effect is very good.
Real interesting, I'll use your reviews of the 1000V to help me decide if I want to buy the CT-S500. Both models are already expensive in NZ so I don't want to plonk down anything extra on vocal synthesis. If you could show the sort of stuff you can do with FX chains, particularly with the Wurlitzer/Rhodes tones that would be primo. Also pretty interested in the Synth Lead tones, the one that sounds closest to the Oberheim OB-XA and any general comments you have comparing it to the CT-S400. The big addition here is the fact that all the tones have editable DSP, at least from what I can tell.
Yeah it's nice I think. I just opened the CTS500 yesterday and it's black and grey with white accents which also looks cool, sort of 'vintage' appearance.
Very cool in a Casio-kind-of-way. If this were housed in an old-school Casio mini-keyboard form factor I'd have to give it a serious look, but a huge chunk of home-keyboard plastic with a knock-off MicroKorg-ish sound engine won't really fit into the studio.
before microkorg there's yamaha cs1x... it got 16 poliphony can do 4 layer.... compare to microkorg 4 poliphony... so i don't think it's a knock off... they're all unique instruments
For what it is, it's actually a really decent piece of hardware. It has some very competitive features built into it. You'd think it was a higher end sounding keyboard when you listen to it. The voice synthesis features are very handy. It's a great review. Good video. It has a reasonable price tag too.

Mate, no one in the Casio community is getting answers about 2 important things. Now that you have the keyboards, would you PLEASE please plug in a USB to MIDI interface like a midisport 1x1 and plug in a 5 pin din midi socket tone module or keyboard, and see if the CT-S1000V can trigger the tone module/keyboard AND, and this is major, can you trigger the CASIO CT-S1000V FROM a midi keyboard connected to the midi IN of that usb to midi din interface? That should be possible since the unit comes with a blu tooth adapter, it should work with other usb midi devices too. The SECOND most pressing thing is this unit IS a SAMPLER, can you IMPORT WAV files to the Casio CT-S1000V via HARDWIRED method not just wireless? There SHOULD be a second USB connection that you would plug a PHONE into for the Lyric app, that from what little we are told, can also IMPORT wav files! Now be that from a phone,tablet or iPHONE or even if you get the right usb cable, a USB flash drive! Yes!? No!? Awaiting your answers in video form anxiously my friend! I do not want to buy a dud.. I ask on behalf of the World here! Namely we want to know if you can trigger via midi, the voice synth and samples say from your external more powerful 88 note keyboard controller or full featured midi sequencer? Instead of relying solely on the Casio's internal 5 or 6 track sequencer with limited note capacity and a computer daw that requires you to be tethered to a PC or MAC, or worse, a very under powered but stupid expensive iPHONE. Korg and others have made hardware that requires that as the only way to get the most out of the instrument(Roland xenology I am screaming at YOU!!)..

The Yamaha was a loan from them after they saw a video I made predicting what the post-e473 would be like. The nee Casio, though - I just kept searching until I found a retailer who got it early. They must have been tight with Casio :)
I'm guessing Casio sent this to him.Its one of the perks of being a TH-camr with 30 thousand followers. (Its also why TH-cam reviews are becoming less and less unbiased).
@@lo-firobotboy7112 No, I had to pay for it at a retailer like everyone else :( The Yamaha PSR-EW245 was a loan from Yamaha Australia but there was a specific agreement that there'd be no bias. I guess I'm just positive about everything :)
Guess I'll soon be upgrading my CT-S400 to a 500, since I need a much powerful keyboard in a very compact package, I would've love to have thr Yamaha but it's just TOO DEEP
I still need to assess how much better this one is from the CT-S400. So far it seems to be all about the vocal synth and the various knobs. I'll check how different the core sound system is.
@@gearfacts I fully agree with your assessment, but I am mostly very interested and excited for the three live knobs on the keyboard, this and the CT-S500 are the same keyboard, just the addition of the VS function, the upgraded controls for these keyboards are very good.
@@lo-firobotboy7112 I have a DeepMind 12 and have had other synths. Great for sculpting sounds but for playing an instrument, like a piano etc. not that great. For Casio to come out with 2 new keyboards during the great chip shortage shows that they are on their game. There pricing is more than reasonable.
I have no one since a few days. It take me very much time to find out how (1) to put off the speakers when recording audio in a DAW , (2) setting the sustain pedal's polarity right (because in default setup it is just the other way!!!) and (3) sending lyrics from ipad/iphone goes half of the time with errors. And sometimes this Casio thing hangs!! I'd like also a kind of editor on PC or IPAD because the menu ot this thing is quite a disaster!
what YAMAHA can do to compete in beginner segment... just an idea... bring Reface series to 61 full size key (and add some polyphoni).... and also bring the cute pss A-50 to the full size 61 key... come on YAMAHA
I completely agree. They need to break out of the standard home keyboard format and start innovating like KORG did in the 2000’s and Casio is doing now ,

Nice gimmick, though beyond novelty there is probably little value. If the vocal synthesis was tucked away in a menu as a little extra, it could actually be a selling point. As a prominent feature of the keyboard though? Probably a reason to look for something else.
Nice, but, personally, I finally give up ... on everything musical, except for my kazoo, of course. Just sick and tired, overwhelmed ... and the payback is never there.
I can relate. I think overexposure to music gear eventually takes some of the magic out of it. And sometimes it’s more like work than pleasure. Maybe you belong more in the business side of things? You’ve clearly got an eye for good investments. And a massive stockpile!

I have a bucket list to finish some synthesizer repairs and about a dozen project guitars. It's the mid-winter blues that gets to me every time at this time of year, short days, the lack of sunshine, always white outside with snow and ice, around -10C or lower temps, not to mention the masks and lock downs. Take care and be well!

actually the hardcore keyboard community still swear that 80s gear is the best.... the older and the younger still seek the classic gear.... and this new cts can do Alan Walker style music with ease... no complicated stuff just pure fun... like i saw on the producers demos...

In my personal opinion, this is one of Casio's best keyboard yet.
Definitely the first respectable keyboard from the the last couple decades. It sounds a bit thin and buzzy compared to the original FZ and CZ synths

You are correct, it can only record one stereo track at a time.

How programmable is the AIX engine?
It’s not all that flexible. There’s no ADSR options at all, but you do get a lot of control from the knobs and the effects.

Yep, and kudos to them recognizing what was bad about their previous models and innovating their way out of that rut. This is a really fun keyboard!
It costs as much as a MicroKorg where I live. After taxes it is almost $600. You can get some pretty good synths for that amount.

Odd choice to implement this vocal synth Thing in a arranger Kind Keyboard instead on a Synthesizer. At least a digital Module would be nice.

this keyboard and the ct x870in have the same sound source. also AHL basic (the sound source on the ct s200) is worse than this
The CT-S500 and the CT-X800 (or CT-X870in) have the same AiX sound chip. This is why I'm looking for the CT-S500 to replace my CT-X800.
Both of the keyboards use the same sound engine, the CT-S1000V just has more sounds.
