Surely along doctrinal lines, they would not have rejected it. But the subject of the Holy Spirit is an ever-elusive even among those who profess to believe in Him. God was continually, faithfully revealing Himself to those who sought Him within the church. You may also appreciate the writings of Francis de Sale and Madam Chantal.

It's really interesting to hear the writings of others during this time, esp people near to Madame Guyon. Really is wonderful to see those who sincerely sought God and had real faith in Him.
