If not you get down in the prown supported position. Call out the 3'Ds and have your Alpha team lay down suppressive fire. While the your Bravo team is flanking and bounding forward onto that enemies position.
Ahhh the hardest part of a contact / firefight in my opinion trying to locate the firing point/ positions , ive been shot at quite a few times ( as i imagine lots of others here in comments section have too ) and hand on heart only seen the " enemy" a few times i always found night time contacts easier with muzzle flash ect , day time 90 percent of the time you can forget about it 😂, " likely enemy positions" is your friend lol

I found this channel just three days ago. It was suggested to me by TH-cam. I have to say that I am extremely excited about the videos I have seen so far! There's nothing I hate more than bad videos from stupid TH-camrs who seem completely crazy and neurotic and only make unprofessional videos from which you can learn practically nothing! Unfortunately, there are relatively few serious channels and this one is definitely one of them! What I like best here is that everything is explained very objectively, absolutely sensibly and comprehensibly, without any childish or affected posturing! A channel that is just as professional, but cannot easily be compared with this, is: "Ranger Survival and Field Craft" which I would expressly recommend. Thank you very much for the work you have done here and the time you have spent on it! I'm looking forward to more videos! With best regards from Germany!

I always thought when you react to contact you basically just mag dump in the direction of the enemy to start out. Maybe this is a GWOT hold over in a time where supply lines were simply not ever challenged. I've also heard stories of guys in Vietnam who would go on patrol with their standard 7 or 8 mags but then have an additional 8 in their pack, after running dry one time. Running out of bullets in a gun fight has got to be a bad bad feeling.
@@aussiecue Accuracy through volume. Also could be different doctrine between a "react to contact" vs "break contact" even within American doctrine. Maybe I'm just pulling things out of my ass
Ranger beads. They are used to track pace count. 9 “100 meter” beads on one side, 4 “1km” beads on the other. Every time you complete a 100 meter leg on an azimuth, you move one bead on the “9” side. When you complete 1,000 meters (or 1 kilometer), you move all 9 beads back down, and move one of your “km” beads up. It is easy to lose count on a maneuver. Say you are on your 210 pace count (roughly 300 meters for me), and suddenly someone calls a halt and reports visual contact. You sit in the dark for 30 minutes scanning for light/movement and listening for noise, then the all clear is given. How far are you into your maneuver? Are you sure? Check your ranger beads.
Easier method to draw attention to points of reference is to call out clock points instead of “diagonal right (45 degrees) 50 meters” , is better minimised and shouted as “2 o clock, 50 meters”
