Here in 2024 I still miss Ascot and am.STILL angry that greed took it away from us. God bless the Agajanian family for all the greatest memories of my life. I am so fortunate that I got to race motorcycles there from 1970 to 1986. Once again God bless the Agajanian family and everyone else who made Ascot the greatest raceway in the WORLD

Very interesting facts about Ascot that few if any folks knew, very said! I got out of the Navy in 1968 & went to work for NCR in Hawthorne. I met a guy there, his name was Roy & he lived right across the street from the main entrance. At the time I had Just bought a 1969 CJ 5 & we used to talk a lot. He asked one day if I ever wanted to go to Ascot to let him know! So one Friday I asked what was going on for Saturday & he said there were Jeep & buggies doing the TT course. For sure had to see that, totally a blast, cept for the ducks in he pond!
I went there several time more & eventually in 1973 bought a house on 186 Street, walking distance from the park. Went to a lot of races, but didn't like the sprints. Well my neighbor Stan was totally into sprints, actually knew all their home towns, etc. One day he convinced me to go see a sprint race & we should be in the pits, As they were qualifying we were at turn one. OMG, they came into the corner at over 100 MPH & turned left! Have been a MAJOR fan since! Even took off 2 months to follow the outlaws in 1983 & 84. I was there when they had the truck pull that was a one time deal, even entered & yup won my class with my '69 CJ-5 V6. I'll never forget Ascot, I still live on 186 Street & sometimes on Saturday evenings I can hear the ghosts of Ascot HOT lapping.& thats the honest truth.

My Mom still lives across the street next to the Cemetery a 5 min walk away. We could hear the races! When I would stay with her we watched so many cool races there, Stock cars, flat track grand nationals, demo derby’s, and I even got to race MX there too. I just remembered, I even worked as a flag man there for MX. My friends got me in for some cash money🤣Thanks for posting👍🏽

My Dad took me to see Evel knievel jump at Ascot. we also went to many figure 8 races, and I used
to race MX there in the '80's. damded shame that the legendary Ascot park was Killed. RIP Ascot Park.
IN THE 70's .........a friend of mine stole a car and He was joy riding it through Gardena, And seen the gate at the Ascot track entrance was OPEN, So He drove the stolen car right onto the track and did a few laps, then crashed the car. He (and other friends in the car) all took off running and everyone got away. His girlfriend lived about a 5 minute walk from the track, next to the grave yard.
They were supposed to go out for Beer, And I asked where the beer was, They left it in the car! lol true story.

It was either Jay or Cary who said that the Ascot site was bulldozed and the next day the company which was supposed to be developing it declared bankruptcy. The obvious conclusion was that they wanted to foreclose on any possibility that the track might be reopened after the construction plans fell through.

I went to Ascot in the 70's. My mom's boyfriend announced there and was introduced to Gary Scott, etc.. Names from the past are incredible to hear when you realize how young you were yet I was not pushed into the sport like I should have been. It was a nice small venue to feel comfortable and not overwhelmed. The lesson learned about the sale is women always sell out property for cash when they inherit their husband's winnings. It's a notorious behavior. You can read them like a children's book because all they see is cash they don't care about the details of land. Ignorant and foolish. Hearing the name J.C. Agajanian brings memories back as well. The sport was good fun and yes its a shame businesses around it probably had to close. Ascot Park had a great location with great weather made it a thriving business. Yet...
