Honestly for a 30 dollar advent calendar im used to way worse, this is actually one that has okay quality and good items for kids to play with instead of stickers, magnets and buttons for 30+ dollars. Really been some time since i saw a good review of those „cheap“ kids advent calendar that was worth the price and would be an actual recommendation.
If your an adult (or, mostly adult), I would buy some small paintbrushes and acrylic paint in colors you like and paint all of the food items. Make the calendar YOUR type of calendar!
Since it's meant for children, I'm sure they figured not painting the small accessories wouldn't even matter. The figurines are nice, but they should have included Kristof.
15:47 Just remember it is for young kids. My 3, 6 and even my 10 year old grandkids would love the stamps, especially stamping in the “sand”. And then next summer they would take them out to their sandbox (if the stamps aren’t lost😂). I don’t think kiddos care about the “details”, like we do. I still would paint the cake/pies!😂!😂
2:31 Actually this is from Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. The girls are talking about traditions and they don’t remember theirs, so Olaf goes out looking for others traditions. The kitten’s human knits sweaters as a tradition. It’s a very cute movie ❤ For littles and grownups ❤
I love the movie especially when they are talking about hanging stocking on an open fireplace.. olaf says "cuz thats safe". Its makes me laugh everytime.
I think it’s important to remember that this is based off the Frozen short “Olafs Frozen Adventure” which follows Olaf taking Sven around finding different traditions at Christmas as Anna and Elsa don’t have any (hence why Kristof didn’t make an appearance - he’s not a prominent character in the short) I love that they included the beautiful ice tree and the star. I always get so emotional watching that scene 🥹 overall I think it’s a fabulous calendar! I don’t think any of my barbie or Bratz accessories had specific paint jobs either from memory.
This is a kinetic sand play set. All of the toys are to play with the sand, especially the accessories, that’s why they don’t have painted details. Maybe I’m guessing wrong, but as someone who played with all sorts of toys that is what I think. If you look at the figurines they do not have painted details on their feet, only molded ones, because they would be walking through the snow/sand. However, the cake, frosted or chocolate covered strawberries, hot cocoa, and cupcakes, are meant to be played with the sand and kids could cover them like frosting. The lanterns could be covered with frost or snow. The seat, I don’t think it is a bed, is for them to sit on and it looks like there are even cup holders. Yes, the carrots and bread would be better with painted details, but I think the plan was kids could be getting all the accessories covered in the sand. Obviously, it is cheaper to not have painted details, but if they did the paint would be more likely to chip after using the sand. You can’t not have painted figurines. The sand won’t stick to the accessories this way like they would the painted details, either. So cleanup is a lot easier. For kids this is a really neat playable set. I bet kids would love that. As an artist of any age I would love it; skip the sand, and paint details on most of the accessories. Then use the sand stamps with paint, inks, or markers to decorate Christmas cards. Biggest issue is no Kristoff. How can they have Sven without Kristoff?
Also maybe remove some plastic toy (choking hazard since some are so small) and just give more sand like why 1 bag only? Could have 3 bag, red, white, and green and less plastic toy and way more fun that way plus Kristoff.
@ This set is recommended for age 3 and up I believe. Kinetic Sand is recommended for ages 4 and up, if I remember correctly. So younger kids should not be getting or playing with this set either way. Kids 4 and up should be old enough to not eat their toys, but that would be up to the parents to determine with their kids. I can see why they didn’t give more colors of sand for two reasons. Honestly, I’m surprised when sets do, because of mixing the colors together. Since this is a Frozen set any other color than white would be out of place. Frozen = snow. You don’t want yellow snow, red, or any other color. And kids would be the first one to make jokes about other colored snow. 😆 Think what scenes a kid like Calvin (from Calvin and Hobbes) would make with such a play set. For me, even when I was a kid, more toys equals more fun and playtime, plus versatility. Of course, I didn’t like slime or any of the messy stuff with my toys. I’d have wanted Kristoff instead of the sand. They could have traded the lanterns or the seat for Kristoff to fit in the box. It is just so strange to not have included him.
Considering an Olaf that size from Amazon is £12 itself and a Sven smaller than that is also £12 from Amazon, I think this calendar is great. Kids would love this. You should’ve put the scene together at the end.
The lanterns can go on Sven’s antlers, the hot cocoa can go in the ice bench it has holes for them and the stampers the back you’re supposed to put through a thick piece of sand and it makes something.
If it was targeting adults or teens, I'd say you have every right to be frustrated. But you also acknowledge that this is more for kids. I have a friend whose 5 year old would love this. She's be over the moon. It's all perspective I guess. I'm with you, alot of the little food items were likely 3d printed and I know 3d printers can do multiple colours and details. So it feels lazy. But the kids would love this and that's who this is really for.
11:34 I agree with you, they are lacking the decoration on the cake/pies and stickers for the lanterns. Hopefully stickers somewhere. I’m sorry but I would get out some paint and decorate the cake/pies😂
Good afternoon Cherry!!! It isn't a bad calendar, but for a kid it would be a great gift. I do agree that they could add a little more color on some of the items. The stamps can be used so many ways, and not just with this set. Thank you so much for sharing with us, and I hope you have a Blessed weekend!!!!
I think kids who are fans of Frozen would love this. You can use these snowflake shapes for making gingerbread cookies or any other type of cookies as well. IMO for the quality of these figurines, this calendar is worth this money. I've seen so many worse Frozen figurines/dolls elsewhere.
Sounds silly but I look forward to these advent videos everyday especially as I'm struggling with anxiety and going to college recently, these videos always take my mind of it and bring me a smile- Thx Cherry 🍒☺
A suggestion, have a Lost Cauldron Advent calendar. Have it where you currate it with different items from your shop. For example, you sell candles, so a few of the doors in the calendar could have mini versions of some candles. If you sell soaps, do travel size soaps to put into the calendar. You could include pen wands, Lost Cauldron pin badges, fridge magnets etc Then along with the finale item for the last day, you could also include a code that gives a discount on a future purchase from your shop. Either in store or online Would be a great way to promote some of your products that you offer in your shop
lol the pressure not to ruin the cardboard paper stage - having little ones I always fear I'm going to mess those things up! Ok too many one color accessories, but it is a cheaper item
Those little accessories... that's the new normal for small toys. I think Anna's skirt would work better for Sven riding. Paper toys used to be a thing, it's nice to see them still around, though they'd be worn out pretty quickly. I don't like frozen, but I like this set of toys.
She’s been way more excited for way less which cost way more. This was a good deal compared to other stuff. Little girls will love the ability to switch out the table. And the best part? No stickers or button pins
This calendar reminds me of the polly pocket one I had as a kid in the 2000s. It was snow sport themed with skis, snowboards, clothes and dolls. I also had those few days with the boring plain colour trinkets but from a child perspective it didn't matter because I got a BOY and 2 GIRL dolls and that's all I cared about.
For a licenced product it sure is wonky as heck. I'd have been disappointed and confused for most of this advent calandar had I actually had to open a window each day. Great vid as usual Cherry, I adore this series.
It is a great advent calendar. Kids like stamps and really don’t care about the colorful food pieces. The kids get to build the set. Kids will love it adults may be too picky.
For a Nordic inspired fandom, you said Anna the right way. The figurines, scene and snow is so nice😍 To bad they didn’t add Kristof instead of some of the small accessories, that would have made it a top tier Callander I think. I also wish they had painted more even if they had kids in mind… would feel more like Christmas too with just some white cream and not just colourful.
my grandaughter asked why you didnt put it on the stage and set it all up? i told her you just take everything out not play with them. she kept asking why not? dont big girls get to play with their toys or do they just have to look at them?
I think all the things were really cute. The lack of differently colored details is disappointing, but I agree with a lot of the other comments. You could easily paint them to match your own decor or however you want. It's also one of the really pricey ones so this doesn't anger me too much. They are molded really well so painting them would be easily done. There's been ones that have almost no detail, these are pretty nice to be fair.
I look forward to this every year. Thank you so much! My favorite so far - is the Build a Bear, Harrold's and Scheich! Those sand stampers are perfect for Play-doh too.
not sure about the kid me, but the adult me would LOVE the unpainted accessories. they could make for a very nice arts & crafts evening, just need a tiny brush and some leftover paints
I think this would’ve been more fun as a set and not an advent calendar. It seems worth the money but as a kid I’d have been so disappointed opening one carrot for a day
i think its really cute! and I agree with some of the comments i saw that they probably didn't paint the accessories because they were to be played with the sand. i think it's fine and if a kid really wanted to have them painted that could be a fun side project for them.
I really did enjoy this Advent Calendar, I love Disney Frozen a lot and the figurines are amazing and I know it's meant to be for children but the paint work on the small accessories could of been better even some children would be disappointed plus why didn't they include Kristof in the calendar now he would of been cool to see. This is my favourite series I have ever seen on TH-cam ever keep them up Cherry 🎄💙
I totally agree with you,a little bit of detail on the items would of been good even stickers for the young ones to use would of made it interactive, but being for little people I don’t think they would care too much. Thank you so very much for doing these videos I’m really enjoying them ❤
For a 30£ calendar, I think it's not too bad at all! The way they made the accessories is definitely lazy and they could have found better imo, but the figurines are really nice and the sand and stampers are great! I just wish they had included Kristof. Also, putting a few cutters instead of stampers could have been nice, and maybe different outfits for Elsa and Anna would have been a good idea instead of so many one colour food items!
I do like the idea of having a scene that you can build as you open each door, it’s a fun one for kids. That would be an idea for a nativity themed calendar, build the stable scene and have Jesus be behind door 25.
I think it was worth it. If you bought a collection of just the 4 characters in the US you're looking at $25-40ish. Plus the accessories. For a young child it's going to be so fun. They tend to do this solid color plastic toy thing in stuff from a few manufacturers.
I need this calendar!!!!! day 16 is the symbol of Arendale actually! if you rewatch the movies you'll see this symbol of flower on the flags and everything.
Very cute but yes, way too many basic plastic pieces which Mattel is famous for in their Barbie line so I am NOT surprised in the least but overall for the price, the characters are super cute!!! LOVE this series!!
I think they probably didn't include stickers for stuff because kids will shove the bits into sand, so the stickers would get ruined anyway. I think Kristoff isn't included as this set looks like it's based on Olaf's Frozen Adventure where he helps the sisters make new family traditions since they don't have their own. Overall the set looks good for the price for kids to play with.
Mattel are infamous for cutting corners when it comes to their paint jobs on the accessories - even just one extra colour on each item would have elevated them a lot!
Or even if not a paint job stickers so you could decorate the items they gave you like for the lanterns or even the tree. But you’re right it is directed towards children. ❤❤❤❤
Maybe so! I also saw it being pictured as a bench with both Elsa and Anna sitting on it. I thought a bed seemed odd, but bench with holders for mugs maybe?
I am amazed every year on how many different calendars Cherry could find. This is my favorite series.
It’s a lot of work finding new ones 😂
@cherrywallis I'm sure it is.
@@cherrywallisCherry maybe You should try freezing them maybe it’s colour changing cuz it’s called frozen
@Candykingslays that's a brilliant idea
Heels dresses and dolls and would be worthbit😊
And stuff for Elsa dolls
almost 40$ actually.. Kinda rubbish to me, the whole calender contents arent worth 40$ X__x
30 pounds
Oh, how I wished you placed the characters and Christmas tree on the stage at the end.
true! i was waiting for that bit towards the end :( alas I'll have to cook it up in my imagination now
Left me frustrated.
If your an adult (or, mostly adult), I would buy some small paintbrushes and acrylic paint in colors you like and paint all of the food items. Make the calendar YOUR type of calendar!
I'm an artist and that was the first thing I thought when I saw the desserts
First thing that came to mind was this! Also get some modeling clay, use the stamps and make your own ornaments.
Nail polish works good too. I did that with my barbie stuff.
My first thought! Making it more interactive ❤
This would be a great calendar for a child of a parent who paints miniatures as a hobby.
Since it's meant for children, I'm sure they figured not painting the small accessories wouldn't even matter. The figurines are nice, but they should have included Kristof.
Even preteen can paint them & make it more interactive ❤
It would have been 40 pounds.
I think a kid would be VERY disappointed to open the day window and find one of those "thing"..
Including Sven but no Kristoff is a crime.
Exactly, the children won’t mind if they are painted or not once they swallow the very small pieces.
Day 13 earmuffs could be for Olaf. He used to wear it in cartoon.
Hey! The pink stamper (flower) is the 'amblem' of Arendelle, you can see it on the flags in the films 😊
It is a lotus blossom.
I was screaming in my head about what that was!!!
@@traceytrotter9934 The flower is actually a crocus.
@@frederiknielsen9980 Oh, looks like a lotus too!
That's correct

It's a good calendar for kids I think, mostly because they are easy to please. For it being so cheap I think it is worth it.
The painted details were spot on. Esp compared to the Potter advent.
For Mattel, I feel like the unpainted accessories are on par with most Barbie accessories, especially currently.
Yeah and for sand play it makes sense

this is ctually a smart idea!!
If you did A Lost Cauldron advent calendar, I'd definitely want one sent to me in Australia
My 7 year old daughter would love this. When it comes to kids' toys, they don't care if the extras are painted. I wish they would have had Krisoff.
I think that if the items weren’t as repetitive then the advent calendar would have been more elevated!
It could be very satisfying to paint the cakes ^^
The mini dolls are cute but for nearly £30 getting mostly one colour accessories and stamps is way too steep.
lol the pressure not to ruin the cardboard paper stage - having little ones I always fear I'm going to mess those things up! Ok too many one color accessories, but it is a cheaper item

I'm pretty sure the stamps are also tree decorations. Judging from the split on the handle, I think you can slide them on the tree.
I think the small accessories should be nicely painted, even if they are for children, children deserve nice things too!
For a licenced product it sure is wonky as heck. I'd have been disappointed and confused for most of this advent calandar had I actually had to open a window each day. Great vid as usual Cherry, I adore this series.
What? It’s like for 6 year olds. They would LOVE this
Honestly for $30 being Disney i think this was a pretty good value. The solid colors gives kids the chance to use there imagination.
12:20 SHE CAN DO THE SPLITS [that made me laugh]😂
It is a great advent calendar. Kids like stamps and really don’t care about the colorful food pieces. The kids get to build the set. Kids will love it adults may be too picky.
Totally a crafting advent calendar. I would paint those food items. I might buy it for the molds to make jewelry and ornements.
But imagine opening this one day at the time, and what you get for the day is what looks like a loaf of plastic bread….
The kinetic sand was the most exciting part of the advent calendar.
But the stampers were a nice, creative touch.

The tree and topper is my favorite part. Haha 😄
So cute, but I think the earmuffs are for Olaf
That’s a lovely calendar for any frozen fan love it
All those little bits are going to be lost really quickly anyway 😂 loved the rest.❤
A fair calendar, I'm sure the youngsters would love it.
I think this would’ve been more fun as a set and not an advent calendar. It seems worth the money but as a kid I’d have been so disappointed opening one carrot for a day
I would love to see you give those items a nice paint job! Cute calendar overall.
Cherry needs to make an advent calendar based on goodies from her store. I would hop on that advent calendar quickly! ❤
I think this is a good kids calendar for the price especially when you think that the stampers could possibly used with ink.
Love the matching jumper. Very on point.
They could have had a sticker set to decorate items instead of that sofa thing
For kids these are amazing, my Four year old would love this. Adding it to my cart immediately
14:03 That's a crocus. It's on the Arendelle flag :)
Oh I'm definitely considering getting either this or the Build A Bear one for my 5 year old daughter (and me too 🤪)!!
i think its really cute! and I agree with some of the comments i saw that they probably didn't paint the accessories because they were to be played with the sand. i think it's fine and if a kid really wanted to have them painted that could be a fun side project for them.

I think the figures look really good! Great for a child!
I think this seems like a really fun calendar for kids. It’ll give them a lot to play with. I do think they could have added Kristoff
For a child this is awesome, and the stamps are cool for the sand
I totally agree with you,a little bit of detail on the items would of been good even stickers for the young ones to use would of made it interactive, but being for little people I don’t think they would care too much. Thank you so very much for doing these videos I’m really enjoying them ❤
I am like a little kid watching you open these! So much fun!
I think it was worth the 20 minutes to watch you open it, as they all are. 😊
you: "am I expecting to much?"
me: yes, yes you are.
First time kislux kuch different colors ka LV bag dekha..very elegant....good choice
I think for kids this is great. Olaf’s adventure is all about searching for ways to celebrate Christmas. Trees food family.

This video and your enthusiasm makes me so happy 😂❤! You should paint the food stuff yourself. That would be a fun video!
I’m so glad i found your channel by accident
I’m glad you did too! 😀
It could have been more detailed on the smaller items but, it is Frozen! ⛄️ 🦌 ❄️
You can paint the plastic with nail polish after roughing up the plastic a bifirst.
Your nails are giving Lestat, i love them!
It would have been good if in one of the final doors there was little acrylic paints that you could paint all the unpainted figures with
You definitely need to design your own advent calendar, one for every category!
14:14 "it was giving maggot" lmao I can't unsee it now
If you don't like how the colors are in the small pieces, then get acrylic paint and very fine paint brush. Paint them yourself, if you like crafty.
