Jackie, the Polly Pocket advent calendar from last year seems like it's more interesting and has a bit more activity to it. Its of course more in price since it's from last year, but could be something to look into if you want a more impressive one. This year's calendar looked so disappointing.
I wad also gonna comment that! In the 90s Polly Pockets were the tiny ones, but in the 2000s they were larger dolls with rubber clothes, and that's what I had. I even had a little car for mine!
Polly pockets is a brand with two different doll size. There is the classic compacts with the interactive playsets and tiny figurine and those which are just "Polly" (not pockets). Those are dolls and not figurines, they come with removable rubber clothes and accessories and bigger playsets. Both are they're unique style, they still make the compacts versions that you thought you were getting. They're just two different products ;)
These ones are more like the early 2000’s ones that I grew up on. As an autistic child, the rubber clothes were very satisfying to fidget with. I also remember playing games on the website, specifically the dress up game they had. I used to spend hours playing on that site!
I also had these growing up. I have fond memories of going to a friend’s house and playing with them in her little 3ft pool. They were perfectly water safe. 😊
Ah I remember those polly pockets! When I was like 5-6 ish (21 years ago) I had a lot of these and yes, their clothes and Accessoires were made of rubber back then! I think they‘re trying to go back to the Retro pollys with the Mystery Boxes! I love that!
The early 2000s dolls were so cute. I had a best friend that would trade with me. We mixed and matched the outfits and accessories. And that was the best part! I had the shell house and she had a square house and we would pretend that they were neighbors. I will say I think the polly pockets were better than then they are now.
These first two Polly’s are more like the mid 2000s version of Polly, which me and my younger sister were obsessed with. The rubber outfits are meant to be just a little big to make it easier to put on & off. Polly has always fought the “this is a choking hazard” battle, so I think them making this doll just that much bigger is there way of trying not to have everything as small. As far as the background “set” a lot of the mid 2000s dolls didn’t come with a set, the ones I think of specifically is the multiple princess lines they had that didn’t have anything. So even though these “bags” are boring it’s at least something, and it gives people the opportunity to customize it! Kid me also wonders if it’s still just as satisfying chewing on the clothes as it was when I was a kid 😂😂 I know like minded individuals are out there 😂😂
10:15 they kind of switched in 2001, from having a pocket-sized environment to a pocket-sized doll. So it's no longer the environment that fits in the pocket, but the doll itself and growing up I used to do that all the time and I would put the doll in my pocket and carry her with me.
@@zootastic698 I used to do the same thing until the day I thought I had lost my favorite one . I found her some months after ....was in the pocket of one coat 😅
I am showing my age with this, but I remember playing with Polly Pocket when it was the tiny plastic cases, and I had a very large collection of Polly Pocket rubber clothing and doll collection growing up. I had all kinds of players for it, the car, the shopping mall, the pet store...so many!
Same. I collect the Vintage Compacts but they also did Pollyville (the houses and towns) and then the larger rubber Polly etc and then the newer compacts but with the split legs. She's been through so many phases
I remember those 😊, I didn't have them myself as they didn't interest me, however I had friends who had them and loved them, I just thought they were a waste of money 🙈 I mainly played with Lego and I read a lot, I always loved my books, still do love reading and have a library at home so nothing has changed much in over 40 years lol 📚😃 but yes I was that weird kid sat in the corner reading books showing zero interest in toys 🙈🤣 however as a adult I do collect geeky toys from star wars, harry potter etc and of course I collect books, I really don't want to know how much I've spent on collectable books over the years,😳 all I know is my bank account hates me 🙈🤣
Back in my day, I had a huge star shaped Polly Pocket case. It inside was like a little amusement park and it really lit up! It had a ferris wheel and they could stand in an area where they could dance around. There were also a bunch of little seats for them to sit. It was magical and I loved that thing. This is so boring in comparison!!
Even though these are much bigger than the Polly Pockets I had growing up, the nostalgia still hits so hard. As soon as you mentioned the “rubber” style clothing, I felt the nostalgia rushing back.
My daughter has a huge polly pocket collection... she started with the original minis and moved to the 3 in dolls... the clothes are great she can change them herself and as a mom you know how wonderful that is!!!
I HATEEEE the bigger Polly pockets 😩 gimmie the tiny choking hazard with the overwhelmingly detailed case or nothing. But I'm glad these giant Polly's have their own fans haha ❤
I loved them. I grew up on them. They also had really cool interactive playsets back in the day. I had a ski lift that brought them up and you could ski off of them and like a hotel mall thing that had a secret platform I didn't even know about until YEARS later.
Ahhh pollys rubber clothes 😂 our chocolate lab we had growing up LOVED to chew on em. We always knew when she had one cause she would roll on em and chase em across the floor like a cat.
Polly pockets were like this in the early 2000s and I loved mine! I used to spend hours choosing outfits. I think the whole gimic of the bigger polly pockets was to dress them up, I think the sets you opened are more like a wardrobe ? Instead of an interactive compact like the older ones. I guess if you collect them all you can put all of the outfits in one wardrobe to mix and match
Polly pocket was always super tiny originally but in the 2000s they were discontinued for a short time due to choking hazards and were rereleased a few years later as 3 inch dolls. They didn't get tiny again until about 10 years ago
Amen! We even had a classic Polly Pocket "Party" board game. Each character had a little car it snapped into, and you had to drive around to different people's parties to collect different colored balloons. First person to collect a balloon from each party wins!
7:18 so this size of doll for polly pocket started in 2001 to today. And I find that I prefer the 2001 to 2006 style more than the current dolls because they had smaller heads, and were not as top heavy. The rubber clothes are also a thing that they have had around ever since 2001, they did at one point try cloth as well so sometimes you can find cloth, Polly pocket clothes out there, but they kind of threw that idea out and just went back to rubber, I believe because of the cost of making cloth clothes for a small doll
I had the original polly pockets and they were so much better. I wish I still had them. The pocket sized feature was the best part so u could take it out with you
I mean this with all respect and appreciation. For someone so creative I feel like you have very little play imagination. I was decorating my pocket house with all the items in the advent calendar. Also the cases are so you can take your pollys with you. I would carry them everywhere. You can fit a whole ass “Barbie house” in something small enough and light enough to keep the child entertained and have them carry it. They’re literally pocket toys.
When I was younger, these larger Polly pockets were the ones we had. Polly pocket water sets- and Polly pocket suction cup wall sets! They have both versions, which is why the front of the box displays size. They still make the tiny houses with interactive environments. :-)
Bluebird toys were under 1". when Mattel bought the company increased the size to 3". I feel Mattel lost the point of polly pocket and worlds fitting into a child's pocket.
My daughter was born in 1987, put her at the age when they were really popular, I remember buying the tiny poly pockets for her whenever we went out shopping. Love ❤❤ you and your channel Jackie ❤~Gina
I'm surprised that Polly pocket is going larger size, meanwhile Barbie has miniature figurines now. I have 4 mini Barbies for my own custom projects and those are taller than Polly pocket used to be, but the idea is same. They also have mini boat, car or house to choose from and mini versions of the color reveal and the plushy costume versions that come with tiny tiny animal with it. I got the unicorn, where the head of the costume also comes off! I love miniature stuff.
I had these type of polly pockets (rubber clothes style) back around 2004-ish,, to organise everything I had a plastic tool box with one of those removable layers. I was such a stickler about how it was organised, and when my mom decided i had grown out of the toys they gave it all to my younger sister. she then proceeded to lose/break/tear pieces and never kept them organised, and i remember it dealing psychic damage to me all the time seeing what had happened to it lol 😵💫😭
I love this product, its so nostalgic for me! I was absolutely a rubber clothes chewer lol! I just wish Jackie would have taken a bit of time prior to the unboxing to see that this is a variety of Polly Pockets. I thought it was a bit unfair to compare it to the original miniatures when it’s clearly not meant to be comparable to those. I totally agree that the environments could be a bit more interactive/ different!
What I remember thé most about PollyPocket : are my 2 daughters singing " pololololy Polly we like to have some fun" is was a Little box and polly sang . My daughters sang this on and off for giggles for a few yearsssss ! Glad I have two grandsons now lolll I did enjoy buying all these fun girlie toys . Thé clothes were also made of rubber 20 years ago ;) Bisous ma belle merci pour tes vidéos, ça m'amuse !
I had a Polly Pocket from 1994. Now it's considered vintage but it was one of the heart shaped little houses, it was a nursery. It was the only thing I would play with for a whole year. Course we didn't have a lot of toys to begin with but i loved that thing.
I prefer the bigger polly pockets with the rubber clothes those are what i had growing up. I do wish they were as interactive as the mini ones, but i liked dressing them up
I have the distinct memory of four little glittery jeeps for polly pocket with rolling wheels that I would just TORMENT our kitchen with. I also that I had some glittery Disney princess dresses for them. I only remember that, because the glitter was the only outfits I wouldn't chew on XD
I had Polly Pockets, two of the 90s one where you have a small box in a shape with an environment inside and a 2000s one with a big cruis ship. I loved it so much
These first two mystery boxes gave me instant Betty Spaghetti doll vibes especially with the rubber clothing lol😂 I do however remember when Polly Pocket started and my little sister had one of the original tiny sets. I think when they relaunched they were more concerned with choking hazards so they upsized everything a bit to avoid this.
Early 2000s, my mom would help me set up my polly world (I had a cruise ship, houses, etc) and it would take so long city planning and drawing roads on paper that I would be exhausted before even playing with them! My mom wpuld leave the world up for days so I could have time to play and then we'd do it all over again a few weeks later for years and years. I also remember playing her salon and gardening game on the website and its a big reason I fell in love with gardening!
I'm sorry you can't beat the 80's/90's Polly Pocket, I had a few different sets including a money box and clock! There was jewelry ones as well (necklaces and rings) so that you could take your fav one with you.The modern one was resized due to health and safety (choking hazard) just goes to show common sense is dying out!
I even had a pair of sneakers that had a tiny clear compartment on the sides with a polly in it. When I grew out of the shoes my mom had to cut it open, so I could keep the polly XD
OMG, those are exactly like the polly pockets I had growing up! The rubber clothes were always fun to play with (even if some pieces did tear if you were a little bull in a China shop like me 😅). I remember my sisters and I had a ton of them, my favorite being a mall play set with a little food court and hair salon. It even had this changing room thing that you put the doll in and it spun around. Gosh, I haven't thought about these toys in years! Thanks, Jackie, for bringing back those treasured memories. ❤
As others have said they do 2 versions of polly pockets. I had both when growing up. Also in regards to the accessories not fitting on the dolls they came with, I think they just put random accessories in each box so you can use them for the dolls they do work with. You can also get stands for them which make them able to stand up aswell as play areas much like you get with barbie
The reason shes so big is bc in the series٫ she is a normal human being but that neclace that she came with is acctualy her grandma's locket and when she says a specepic word(s) that I forgot what it was- she turns tiny. so the small ones are her when shes tiny and those types of ones are when shes not using her locket to be human size. Also the characters are all from the series. hope this helps and you see it ❤🧂🦝❤
Omg I love this 🥹 brings so many memories back ❤ As a someone who’s from 1999 the Polly pockets that i grew up with were actually also a bigger size! My older sisters had the tiny ones with the cute little houses 🥰
i had tons as a kid, i loved them, still have a few i think, as childhood keepsakes, my favourite was a ice palace, the dolls would 'skate around' if you toggled a switch.
I collect the little Pollys! I just ordered the advent calendar yesterday for $16 I've been eyeing it for years. I'm not a fan of the bigger pollys (i think those are pollyville?) But I believe shes got 3 sizes now
I grew up in the 90's and early 2000's with Polly being that size. I loved the rubber clothes and slightly bigger environments. I had, and still have, the limo and concert sets. You can still put her in your pocket, I did. I'm actually surprised they've brought her back, because they returned to the tiny ones in 2011 or so. Tbh,these environments remind me of the McDonald's Polly. The ones I grew up with were at least painted.
Jackie you should bring back the Japanese food kits, I enjoy watching you review them and I know many others do❤I’m a huge fan of yours as I have been watching your channel for more than 5years. Please could you do more of the Japanese food kits and also BRING SIKA BACK PS gran😃
I grew up with the bigger Polly’s and that is my childhood! Everything is so nostalgic and the clothes was my favourite part, the texture how easy it was to put on and off the dolls. Now this makes me what to buy some for myself lol❤️❤️
I absolutely LOVED Polly pockets when I was a smol grain!!!!! I remember I had this like rollercoaster and you could connect your little tiny Polly pockets(they were so tiny honestly surprised they made them because of the choking hazard but back then people didn't care as much lol) to it and they would ride around it and then it also had like other amusement park stuff and I would play with that for HOURS and HOURS. I also had Barbies(my grandpa used to go to the dump and one time found like this prototype tent and I would make them go camping) and then I also LOVED littlest pet shops(I think I still have a ladybug one maybe?) and also those like hamster ones and I had a like track they would race around and I also had a DS game with them!
Im from Brazil and my whole childhood had been with big polly pockets in rubber clothes. In the 2005 the try to make a magnetic version but was a disaster. Just now that they are bringing back the classic version that I discovery why they are call pocket. never knew
In 2002 a friend of mine had the Glitterific Botique. You got to put glue over the clothes, place them on a coat hanger to put in the closet. You had to block a hole that had a button, this button turned the fan on in it that dried the glue as glitter was pushed around the clothes.
Polly pocket was orginally made by blue bird toys. It was bought by mattel in 1998. Mattel mainly sells fashion dolls. Polly pocket was not a fashion doll. So mattel made them bigger and rebrand them to sell them as fashion dolls. The ones you have now look slightly different than the ones we owned around early 2000’s. But same size and same concept clothes.
Ok look lol...I had the OG Polly Pockets, the ones in the small compacts..all of that. I still have them. But, they were basically just as "interactive" as this, and tbh...this is even more so than those were! You basically got a tiny doll, sometimes a friend or a pet, and then she just could walk around in the compact environment. That's it... But did I love that as a kid...hells yes I did! So yeah, this is for kids..they will enjoy and will enjoy collecting them all!
I used to have Polly pockets just like these just slightly smaller. The rubber is so you can easily take off the clothes without ripping them or breaking the doll, and yes gentle fingers are needed
OMG I MUST GET THEM THEY ARE BACK AAAH i used to collect those exact type of polly pocket! But they got discounted in my country and never saw them again THEY EXIST AGAIN IM SO HAPPY I need to go get them so i get more clothes to my current ones omg x3 (im 21 and my 12 self is so happy rn)
I had a few polly pocket sets, and one was a jungle zip line themed one, where each character you got could ACTUALLY zip line down the whole thing, there were a bunch of other cool things, but the coolest was that the polly pockets hair changed colour with hot/cold water!
I had the bigger polly pockets in the early 2000’s like 2002 when I was around 5. I loved the rubber clothing because I could chew on it and not ruin it. I had a knock off bigger polly pocket Disney princess of Aurora I got at Disneyland too. We loved them. Basically they’ve brought back both versions for different people to share their childhoods with their kids which I sort of love tbh. Plus the bigger one if you confiscate the shoes is safer for younger kids then the tiny tiny ones.
I have one when i was 5 and then one of my classmates put a lizard egg inside of it and then when i got home there was little tiny lizard parts everywhere that was not fun.. love your videos !!❤
I was a little too young for the classic polly pocket but I did have one! my older cousin had so much and I loved getting to see them all! When I got older I had the late 90's early 2000s ones but quickly swapped over to the lil bratz dolls
I grew up with the vintage 80s/90s Polly Pocket compacts and I loved them! My favorites were the Fairylight Wonderland and the Starlight Castle. ❤️ Pretty sure that's where my obsession with everything tiny came from. I was so disappointed with the change in the early 2000s..
One of my core memories with polly pockets was finding out that other kids chewed and ate the clothing😅 But polly pocket was one of my favourites. My grandma got me a couple of the classic ones. I remember one having a farris wheel and hot air balloon. Then my mom got me polly pockets with the rubber clothes, one was shaped like a purse. They were my favourite and some of my favouritw memories. My mom may have been a single mother but her and my family really looked after me
i had some polly pocket toys, the bigger ones, as a kid, even the expandable car thing. I remember watchnig the movie at Christmas along with Transformers Energon episodes. I still have my dolls and loved paying with them. a "friend" (not anymore, classic bff backstab, don't ask) traded me some dolls and one of them kept falling apart in the hip pelvic area no idea why. the clothes were always rubber and can break if you tug on thin straps too much.
I feel like Polly Pocket was way nicer in my childhood (I‘m 39 … so early 90s). I sadly don’t have mine anymore. I gave them to a little girl I knew when I was a teenager. My best friend still has hers. A while ago we sat down with a nice coffee and played with them for a while. She has so many cute miniature houses. Really brought back memories 😍
So there is a polly pocket show now the necklace makes her into the mini version you know and love lol... those are just the closest they have interactive houses for the big and small dolls too
Oh Jackie, this is exactly what this generations polly pocket is nowdays. The advent calendar is cool. The gems should open that pink box, stick the pokey part into the slot and it should open. Unfortunately, your lack of polly knowledge has made this video incredibly salty. I appreciate your opinion, I am a very big fan. I consult your channel before I buy my kids ANYTHING. But, I think you treated this one a little too harsh. My opinion. Anyway, thanks for being you and opening this! My daughter will love it.
I had some Polly Pockets in the 90s. They were small enough to be necklace pendants, or could fit in pockets. (When we had pockets, *sob*.) The dolls were TINY, and same with their pets. They're bigger these days than they used to be. But I'd love to get the advent calendar. There are so many advent calendars I'd love to get, like Little Pet Shop and Hot Wheels, omg.
Was just in the attic today and my parents saved a bunch of Polly pocket dolls and sets from my early 2000s childhood. I only had the larger dolls. From my sets and my friends sets I remember a full openable cruise ship set (think 1.5-2 ft long), magnetic dolls with magnetic hard plastic clothes and a set with mechanisms to change your doll into new clothes, zipper box sets abt 10x10 in where the box would be upright as a house set and zip down to be like a beach floor set made from the thin plastic cover. We had a little slide, and of course tons to rubber clothes. TLDR: even 20 years ago this style of doll was very popular (less of a choking hazard lol maybe minus chewing on clothes). The main allure was buying sets that you would play in that were a lot more expansive than these very simple box carrying case types.
Found an article called “17 Polly Pockets Play Sets You DEFINITELY Had If You Were A 90s/00s Kid”. Def a must look at if you’re curious about the older “large” doll lines. Or if you had them and need a bit of nostalgia, I def recognized a good 75% of those sets
my grandmother (the woman who rescued me from my birth parents and raised me as if i was her own child) always got me Polly Pockets stuff growing up. im 37 now and still have some around.
My daughter’s Polly were half that size. They had the rubber clothes. They truly weren’t able to fit in my pocket. Then a smaller version came around and they had magnets on their feet. You would play with them in their little house. The smaller ones you couldn’t change your clothes. They were actually rubber themselves.
I remember my neighbor who was 2-3 years older than me had the pocket sized polly pocket, but after 2000 that size was pretty standard. They had some great play sets like the little polly pocket house or the mall
My memory of polly pocket was my childhood best friend being absolutely obsessed with polly pocket and not letting me touch any of her polly pocket toys
When I grew up we never hat the tiny og lockets it was always the small dolls with rubber clothing. They did have a line with magnetic clothing and a full play set series, my friends and I had different segments of that one and when we met we would always put them together and play on the different parts ( it was star themed so there was a stage, a villa, a salon and such and they had fun moving mechanics)
I had Polly pockets! They were my favorite and I had different kinds! But a lot of mine were that size but they had “real” hair and not the plastic! They had salons and other stuff you can buy for them and I was OBSESSED!! So it’s cool that they came out with more! I do with the had the “real” hair though!
when I was a kid in the 2000s I had a bunch of the Polly Pockets with the rubber clothes. Those were my Polly Pockets. I loved them I wish I had kept them!
I had a set in the 2000s where the dolls were rubber with magnetic hands and feet. They had a whole playhouse and everything, and were my FAVORITE! One day I took them somewhere with me, and I forgot them in the car because I had stuck them to the metal part of my seatbelt. Once I remembered, I ran out to get them and they had melted and warped into the positions they were in 😩 I BAWLED
My experience with Polly was in the early 2000s with the rubber clothes. We couldn’t afford them, but I always loved when my friends had them to play with!
I have my Polly collection ! all back from the 1988 ❤❤ it's my baby and is worth so much in my eyes ! my daughter plays with them still and we love them !!!!
I used to have a subscription to Bokksu before. The gasp I gasped when I saw those white chocolate strawberries omg....those are sooooo good! For those that don't know, they freeze dry the strawberries, and then (I don't know how) they get the chocolate inside the strawberry. I would highly recommend. Jackie (sorry if I spelled that wrong) you're tempting me so much lmao.
I was personally excited to see the larger polly dolls, which are what I grew up with in the 2000s! I remember some had the plastic hair like these dolls and others had actual doll hair. As a mom now, I would probably lean more towards getting the bigger style of doll vs the smaller ones because the tiny ones are much easier to lose and my kiddos are really little so I would worry about the teeny tiny pieces going in mouths etc. Maybe if my kiddos were older or if we traveled a lot I would lean more towards the little dolls. For me $15 for the bigger dolls isn't terrible!
Me and my sister were obsessed with polly pockets we had a 50 gallon container full of them and we would cover out entire bedroom floor and create and entire town of our own and everytime we had enough to make the town different every time we played with them.
I had the itty bitty tiny polly pockets but i also had the ones this size with the rubber clothing. I found the bigger ones with rubber clothing more fun as the itty bitty ones would get lost so easily. For itty bitty ones i had a purple clam shell mermaid one. For the bigger ones i had a purple and orange purse that would open into a bedroom and a small mall set
My aunt always had Polly pockets but i was born 2007 so it’s different but this is the kind of accessories and clothing I remember! And the correct size maybe a little smaller.
I had 90s early 2000s polly pockets they are much smaller and i think are what sparked my interest in mini things i was still a kid when they switched to the big pollys like the one in the mystery box they are iconic for their chewy clothes 😂
I was having a bad day, then you popped up on my screen & chased my blues away. I laughed so much at you dressing the doll I had to change my clothes. Big Thank You ❤😂
I immediately clicked when I got the notification!! Gosh I just love your vibe Jackeh❤!! Why did the pants coming off made me laugh so hard tho 😂😂 RiP the og pollies

Hi, NerdE
Hi Jackie day 9
Btw poly pocket is a TV show
Jackie, the Polly Pocket advent calendar from last year seems like it's more interesting and has a bit more activity to it. Its of course more in price since it's from last year, but could be something to look into if you want a more impressive one. This year's calendar looked so disappointing.
I got it and i used ur code!!
In the 2000s I had Polly pockets that bigger size as well. And some people would chew on the rubber clothing 😂
Thank you, was coming to comment this
Loved those as a child
I wad also gonna comment that! In the 90s Polly Pockets were the tiny ones, but in the 2000s they were larger dolls with rubber clothes, and that's what I had. I even had a little car for mine!
i was thinking i'll see this comment
The clothes were very chewable 🤣
Polly pockets is a brand with two different doll size. There is the classic compacts with the interactive playsets and tiny figurine and those which are just "Polly" (not pockets). Those are dolls and not figurines, they come with removable rubber clothes and accessories and bigger playsets. Both are they're unique style, they still make the compacts versions that you thought you were getting. They're just two different products ;)
Came here to say this
Technically they are pocket sized just not as compact as the original.
@@JayofallTradesdidn't they stop making the mini ones for choking hazard??
I'm kinda tired of Jackie doing reviews with 0 research before
@@beckahalvarez702 I think they made it a tiny bit bigger than the og ones. I definitely saw some of the new ones in store 🤔
These ones are more like the early 2000’s ones that I grew up on. As an autistic child, the rubber clothes were very satisfying to fidget with. I also remember playing games on the website, specifically the dress up game they had. I used to spend hours playing on that site!
Id chew on the rubber clothes 😭
I also had these growing up. I have fond memories of going to a friend’s house and playing with them in her little 3ft pool. They were perfectly water safe. 😊
I loved these as a kid. More than the 90s ones
I LOVED Polly Pocket as a kid because chewing on the clothing was such a good stim.
As a fellow autistic, I wasn’t allowed to have them. I was what you call a mouth explorer. And he clothes were a choking hazard 😅
The early 2000s Polly Pockets had my heart! I’m so glad to see they are still around and that they still have the bigger versions
@@saraw2125 ^^
Ah I remember those polly pockets! When I was like 5-6 ish (21 years ago) I had a lot of these and yes, their clothes and Accessoires were made of rubber back then! I think they‘re trying to go back to the Retro pollys with the Mystery Boxes! I love that!
The ones with the rubber clothes are not the "real" retro ones tho... ;)
@@GiaGwendolinedepends on your retro lmao
Kid me also wonders if it’s still just as satisfying chewing on the clothes as it was when I was a kid 😂😂 I know like minded individuals are out there 😂😂
I used to chew on the shoes. 😅 A specific pair of orange boots come to mind.
@ for us it was the jackets or long dresses 😂 but the heels had a nice bite too 🤣🤣
10:15 they kind of switched in 2001, from having a pocket-sized environment to a pocket-sized doll.
Me too. I had a tiny plastic case one too.
That sounds awesome you had your own town
Same. I collect the Vintage Compacts but they also did Pollyville (the houses and towns) and then the larger rubber Polly etc and then the newer compacts but with the split legs. She's been through so many phases
Same ! I had the complete set of the 80/90s ones me and my cousin used to trade ones if we had duplicates 😂 loved them ❤
I remember those 😊, I didn't have them myself as they didn't interest me, however I had friends who had them and loved them, I just thought they were a waste of money 🙈 I mainly played with Lego and I read a lot, I always loved my books, still do love reading and have a library at home so nothing has changed much in over 40 years lol 📚😃 but yes I was that weird kid sat in the corner reading books showing zero interest in toys 🙈🤣 however as a adult I do collect geeky toys from star wars, harry potter etc and of course I collect books, I really don't want to know how much I've spent on collectable books over the years,😳 all I know is my bank account hates me 🙈🤣
Back in my day, I had a huge star shaped Polly Pocket case. It inside was like a little amusement park and it really lit up! It had a ferris wheel and they could stand in an area where they could dance around. There were also a bunch of little seats for them to sit. It was magical and I loved that thing. This is so boring in comparison!!
@@altoidsours I had that one too!!!! It was my favorite.
Pretty sure I had that one too...but to be fair, I don't think it's as interactive as Jackie wanted lol
Yes I bought that one for my daughter
Even though these are much bigger than the Polly Pockets I had growing up, the nostalgia still hits so hard. As soon as you mentioned the “rubber” style clothing, I felt the nostalgia rushing back.
My daughter has a huge polly pocket collection... she started with the original minis and moved to the 3 in dolls... the clothes are great she can change them herself and as a mom you know how wonderful that is!!!
"They" decided the original Polly Pockets were a choke hazard. I prefer the originals. The playsets were so cute!!
@@vallinobblitt3977 they still make the small ones!! I recently got myself an Addams family one!!
But the new ones are choke hazards too. That really makes no sense to me 😅
I HATEEEE the bigger Polly pockets 😩 gimmie the tiny choking hazard with the overwhelmingly detailed case or nothing. But I'm glad these giant Polly's have their own fans haha ❤
I agree. 😅
"I'm gonna change her clothes-- I lost the shoes." Congrats! You're already having an authentic Polly Pocket experience. 😂
My friends an I loved the 3inch dolls. We would bring them to school t recess and play. We would also trade!
The original polly pocket that had a round bottom to snap into the cases is when they were the best.
Amen! We even had a classic Polly Pocket "Party" board game.
Each character had a little car it snapped into, and you had to drive around to different people's parties to collect different colored balloons. First person to collect a balloon from each party wins!
My niece loves polly pocket and I had no idea they had an advent calendar! I just bought it off Amazon for $14 USD! 🎉🎉 Thanks Jackie! 💜
I remember growing up with the 2001-2006 version and was one of my favourite toys
The chewable polly pockets! My childhood. I loved chewing on those ones.
I COLLECT POLLY POCKET!!! I’ve been collecting for many years and have a ton of of the vintage ones!! I recently picked up the Addams Family one!!
Gasp. There’s an Addams Family Polly pocket ????? Quick, must spend my money
@ yes!!! I haven’t seen it in stores but I saw it earlier on Amazon or you might be able to get direct from Mattel!!
I had the original polly pockets and they were so much better. I wish I still had them. The pocket sized feature was the best part so u could take it out with you
"pollution pocket" 😂
I mean this with all respect and appreciation. For someone so creative I feel like you have very little play imagination. I was decorating my pocket house with all the items in the advent calendar. Also the cases are so you can take your pollys with you. I would carry them everywhere. You can fit a whole ass “Barbie house” in something small enough and light enough to keep the child entertained and have them carry it. They’re literally pocket toys.
Okay, but Jakie does not disappoint because they post almost 2 - 3 times a week which is crazy! Thanks for your time and work Jakie!
Yeah but they are making the mini polly pockets too like in the 80s and 90s just a bit different
5:43 the original Polly pocket characters are plastic with rubber hair so that's why they have a rubber iteam ❤❤
My daughter was born in 1987, put her at the age when they were really popular, I remember buying the tiny poly pockets for her whenever we went out shopping. Love ❤❤ you and your channel Jackie
❤~Gina
Glad I have two grandsons now lolll
I did enjoy buying all these fun girlie toys . Thé clothes were also made of rubber 20 years ago ;)
Bisous ma belle merci pour tes vidéos, ça m'amuse !
You and kitty editor make a great team, The sound effects and extra visuals are everything❤
I agree 1989-1992 the one with the magnets were cool you could make them move and they were tiny. Common sense is so rare now it is scary.
i had many polly pockets as a kid! i loved them! just to let you know you can pop off the head, and put it right back on to make the accessories work!
I used to love Polly pockets!!!! I had the small ones and the big ones. They were so much fun❤❤❤
I collect the little Pollys! I just ordered the advent calendar yesterday for $16 I've been eyeing it for years. I'm not a fan of the bigger pollys (i think those are pollyville?) But I believe shes got 3 sizes now
Thank you for buying it so I don’t have to!
Please could you do more of the Japanese food kits and also BRING SIKA BACK
PS gran😃
I grew up with the bigger Polly’s and that is my childhood! Everything is so nostalgic and the clothes was my favourite part, the texture how easy it was to put on and off the dolls. Now this makes me what to buy some for myself lol❤️❤️
The only Polly Pocket I ove are the really tiny ones from the 80s - 90s. When they made the dolls a little taller I was like NOPE.
Agreed haha
Ditto! If it's not a clamshell where you have to be paranoid that you lost the tiny accessories/dolls, it's not a Polly Pocket!
I just bought my daughter the tiny ones for Christmas. They still make them 😊
The really tiny ones were awesome!
Same! As soon as I saw they got bigger I was... eww no
I also grew up with the really tiny and interactive original ones. I loved them so much!
I grew up with the 2000s Polly pocket so these more fashion doll types are what I’m more use to. My older sis had the mini play sets.
One of my core memories with polly pockets was finding out that other kids chewed and ate the clothing😅
But polly pocket was one of my favourites.
So there is a polly pocket show now the necklace makes her into the mini version you know and love lol... those are just the closest they have interactive houses for the big and small dolls too
When I was a young grain, I had a vintage polly pocket, the heart shaped one in the clip you put up. Loved it.
Love ❤️ how you shout out other creators and show them nothing but positivity ❤ we all should support others like that...
Or if you had them and need a bit of nostalgia, I def recognized a good 75% of those sets
i never had a mini environment style polly pocket as a kid in the 2000s, but they did make mini environment littlest pet shop toys that i loved
my grandmother (the woman who rescued me from my birth parents and raised me as if i was her own child) always got me Polly Pockets stuff growing up. im 37 now and still have some around.
I loved the fashion polly dolls growing up! They were so fun to play with.
I love these longer videos! 😁 they’re great for when I just want to relax for a little while and watch something fun, enjoyable and interesting
