- Satellite imagery from Novorossiysk after the marine drone attack shows smoke coming from a vessel berthed there. It could be unrelated to the marine drone attack or could be that damage was caused. This looks more like a barge or a cargo vessel than a military ship. Possibly set on fire because of attempts to intercept the drone.

Caught in the crossfire probably from the indiscriminate fire at the original drones.
Whether or not they actually hit a ship, I am guessing that the fact that two naval drones made it all the way across the Black Sea and into the harbor means that from now on the Russian naval ships will be staying at their berths, and not going out on the dangerous ocean.
Berths don't seem that safe either.
Can see what's left of the Black Sea Fleet soon being renamed the Hiding in the Caspian Sea Fleet ;-)

I'm not sure it's appropriate to say Russia has an aircraft carrier. A heavily broken completely unserviceable ship with no real likelihood of returning to meaningful service really struggles to meet that claim. Might as well say that Australia has an aircraft carrier because they could build one from scratch before the Russian one is likely to reenter service.

I'm not sure we can read too much into Ukraine not having claimed any naval targets hit. Ukraine has been very careful to maintain their international credibility by being very conservative with their "kill" estimates, usually sticking close to the Oryx "only visually-confirmed kills" standard. If they didn't have footage of either the detonation itself or the damage in the aftermath of such a strike, as could be the case if some or all of the other drones that might have observed had been knocked-out before this target was hit, I'm not sure they'd have claimed it immediately. Besides, I think Ukraine knows by now that any serious hit on a Russian target will be hard for Russia to conceal for long in any case, so there's not much benefit in rushing-out a potentially-false kill-claim, and a lot of potential downside. Better to wait until more evidence of the damage inflicted inevitably emerges.
FWIW the quay/berth concerned is pretty much the furthest from the harbour-entrance. That doesn't exclude the possibility that a marine-drone hit occurred there, but makes me wonder about it even more.

In the People's Republic of Belgorod, and some other places temporarily within the borders of the so-called 'Russian Federation' not only do the civilian population experience S300/400 missiles intercepting the ground (and therefore whatever's thereabouts), but what passes for the Russian airforce has got into the habit of of dropping bombs in their vicinity.
The latter phenomenon has three main suspected explanations... a) incompetent navigation/targetting, b) electronic/mechanical failure of the aircraft and/or bomb resulting in accidental release and/or trajectory or c) aircrew enhancing their life-expectancy by dumping their munition(s) before getting in range of Ukrainian air defences. The smart money is on it being a combination of all the above..

Well how do you think the Russians discovered the drones were there? You can picture it, can't you? Pavel and Ivan are sitting on the end of the dock beside their recently installed BTR turret gun where they were detailed to keep a vigilant eye out for drones, both aerial and marine. But just before dark and to ward off the cold, Pavel has pulled a bottle of Stoli out of his pack and you can well imagine the state the two were in by around 3am. Anyone above the rank of Starshina 2nd Class had long since beetled off for the comfort of the bar, prostitution, and home (in that order) and Pavel and Ivan are left with the crap shift. While they are passing the bottle back and forth a dark shape, low to the water, and puttering along at minimum throttle slips past their position. Just as Ivan is about to drain the last of the Stoli...BOOM!! The first drone has arrived! "Bylat!!" shouts Pavel as they struggle to get into the poorly mounted turret, both crowding the single hatchway at the same time. Finally they both tumble in and spend another 3 crucial minutes looking for the single set of ancient night vision goggle they were issued, and another 5 looking for working batteries. They are up and blazing away just as another dark shape passes on the other side of the flotation barrier, disregarding entirely that at the angle they are firing at, 30mm shells are bouncing off the surface of the water and ricocheting everywhere, including all over Novorossiysk. Residents close to the harbour, coincidentally mostly Naval officers, have to hide under beds to avoid incoming fire. Pavel and Ivan manage to sweep most of the dock opposite, including a small fuel cache, and sink the Base Admiral's barge, which was moored there.

If this wasn't an obviously military vessel, it could very well be Russian friendly fire. They might have thought it was a grain ship.

I don't think it's smoke. I think the military vessel closer to the end of the pier with the grey superstructure was moved to where the ship with the red deck was in order to make room for the big rusty barge and the ship with the red deck is somewhere else (moved or left port).

It was likely the MAGURA’s “fragments” that got it.
While those ships may not be valuable military targets, sinking them next to the dock either makes it impossible for another ship to dock there or else makes it difficult to use the dock because they would have to create some sort of temporary dock on top of the sunk ship. Either option negatively affects the Russians' logistics.

I think the ship in question after the strike might be the military vessel, which was docked at the very front end of this peer before the strike. It also can be seen on the satellite image from MT_Anderson in the red box with better resolution. On the image from OSINT after the strike, it looks like this military vessel may be docket further back on the same peer. On the image from OSINT before the strike I think I can see this military vessel seen before on the image from MT_Anderson in the red box. I have no clue what class the vessel is.

One of the explosions shown during the attack was a bit fuelled for a drone.. they tend to be smaller and of shorter duration
The fact that marine drones can reach that port, leaves Russia with little options, in terms of for the survival of their naval fleet in the Black Sea
what? eventually these harbors will be patrolled by drones and defended by lancets and atgms and krasnopol. right now they get more utility using those systems on the combat line but that won't be the case forever.
That is only possible as long as the fleet stays in the port anyways.

In their panic the 0rcss blazed away in all directions, so there is no question that they would have hit SOMETHING. I suspect this is one of the things they hit.

The 2:05 image has a ship (in front of the 'hit' ship) with grey-light grey-red deck colour and at 2:08 the image shows the smoking ship with grey-light grey-red colours... can it be that the ships have been moved to accommodate for the big barge? And not the red-deck ship that has been damaged by something but the other ship?

If you flip on the 7 day look back on the FIRMS map, you can see that the heat signature from the industrial area sometimes spills over to that lone dot that we are looking at. I think it is just an anomaly in the resolution of the fire mapping technology.
It's just a ship with red decks and Grey superstructure. You can see it at the end of the pier in the before photo, then the ship in front of it left and it is moved forward.

The image at 3m50s shows a ship which has a grey and red deck. It is very similar to the one at 2m50s which @Suchomimus asserts is emitting smoke.
I think the 2m50s ship is the same as the one at 3m50s, and was moved to provide a slip for the barge.
The mind boggles... not content with shooting down their own planes, now they may have shot down one of their ships, LOL...
Sometimes when a ship starts up its engines to get underway, they belch smoke and generate a lot of heat. So the detected "fire" may be like the heat coming from the adjacent industrial zone...under control and resulting from an ordinary process.
Another thing about measurements is that Russia has been known to paint their ships different colors to change their appearance at long distances. Their goal is to confused drones, but it could also make a ship look shorter on satellite images.

Suchomimus, the ship which was toward the end of the pier in the first photo has moved to the center in the second photo and a grain freighter has taken its old place at the end of the pier while the red ship is no longer there. I can't say I see anything which looks terribly much like smoke. There is a suggestion of diffused smoke but the angle also comes into play and the illumination of the surface and the shallows of the port seem more probable to me. In any case I thank you kindly for your updates and help with fundraising. Cheers to you and Muffin! 🐰

i think people are lloking to find something too hard and missing what is in front of them. the highlighted ship at 1.11 is not the ship at 1.19. if you look the ship at 1.19 was actually where the big red barge whatever it is is now in its place. and the ship that was there is further back where the smaller red decked ship was

Looks to me like the Ropucha from the earlier image has been moved up, and that the "smoke" is just the lighter superstructure. Looks awfully similar to my eyes.
