The Fourth Doctor constantly behaved like he was in creative mode while everyone else was just NPCs. He knew he was the smartest in the room at all times and he acted accordingly. He wasn't scared of threats and he was always one step ahead. And he gave zero f's how that made him look like to others.
I was always partial to "I say, what a wonderful butler! He's so violent!" and "You're a beautiful woman, probably." As much as I have enjoyed every Doctor, Tom really *is* the definitive article in my mind.
Also, when the Doctor scoffs and says, "If you cut out my tongue how can I tell you what you want to know?", as the alien turns away and scoffs, saying, "You can WRITE, can't you?"
My favorite was when the woman says, overly dramatically, "We call it THE PIT". The Doctor says, "You people have a way with words." Then he says that instead of trying to solve their problems, they put the alien in the pit and threw astrologers at him.
@@claudius3359nah his doctor was Peter Davison. I think he said so in the comic relief special, he’s also his son in law so there’s that but I’m pretty sure that’s common knowledge now
@@antoniopraide6855his Nan knitted a Tom baker scarf for him and his first episode was Jon Pertwee’s regeneration into Tom baker. He also mentions he’s around 3 or 4 at this time meaning he’s around 11 or 12 by the time of Tom Bakers regeneration into Davison. So I’d say your both right
Loved this guy's expressions. Wouldn't have thought it seeing old photos of him before Doctor Who, but in action he is just so expressive and I love it. :3
It was 18 feet long. The woman who knitted the scarf got the costumer's specs wrong, so the scarf came out much longer than intended, but the show needed it quickly so they just kept it. Fortunately, Tom Baker was 6'3" so he was able to make it work.
