There was a mobile game years ago called Robo5. I'm not sure if it's still accessible anywhere, but it was a Catherine rip-off. Yeah, like Atlus' weird block moving tower climbing Catherine. Very bizarre inspiration choice, but it always stood out to me.
15:20 I do remember seeing Space Bunnies being advertised on PC Gamer back then. Although I was too young to understand much, this picture of the babe and the bunny monster are burned in my brain
How could you not mention HoloCure in Survivor clones? It's COMPLETELY (no microtransactions or anything) FREE! And a new update adding a casino, new abilities and characters on November 15th!
One time, SMB speedrunner and NES connoisseur Kosmic constructed a tier list of infamously hard NES/Famicom games based on difficulty; this of course includes Battletoads, the Ninja Gaiden trilogy, Silver Surfer, all that jazz. When he got to Holy Diver, he added a new tier - above top tier - solely dedicated to Holy Diver.
Reminder: the foam in Foamstars is the bodily fluids of the player characters. This makes sense for Splatoon, as your character is an anthropomorphic cephalopod.
Brotato is actually older than Vampire Survivors, lol. I used to play the genre back during the Flash game boom, the Boxhead series from Kongregate is basically Brotato from 2008. Bullet Heaven is a good name for the genre.
Oh my GOD no you don’t understand; I have had THAT ONE SONG from Golden Axe Warriors stuck in my head for YEARS and YEARS and I could never find it because I thought it was from an RPG and could NEVER FIND IT. I cannot tell you how much weight literally just lifted up from my shoulders 8:34

I think its important to point out how the Narnia game was basically Lego Star Wars fused with the Lord of the Rings PS2 games, such as with the combat having different combos, parries, etc., and even stuff like selecting levels on the wardrobe being very similar to the level select in Return of the King. Very interesting fusion.
actually fun fact, freedom planet was originally going to be a sonic fan game but was later changed to become its own thing, Changing lilac from a hedgehog to a dragon and so on
24:21 I was hoping to see HoloCure mentioned here, or perhaps the VS clones added to Gacha games recently (Nikke and Zenless Zone Zero added their own clones as well, really fun honestly)
The only thing about Funko Fusion that intrigues me is the Shaun of the Dead level. That movie is one of my favorites of all time. But I'm always down for more of the 100% videos!
I don't understand how PalWorld can be on a list of "games you probably never played" when it was like the biggest thing going for almost two months after its release
To me, freedom planet 1 felt like a clone of classic Sonic but with extra steps: freedom planet 2 feels like a specific clone of the Sonic Advance series, but that may just be me. I would love to see you cover more Sonic content on the channel by the way😊
OH GODS PLEASE DON’T DO FUNKO 100% ! I’m dead serious, that game made me physically sick and was a bug-ridden mess at launch, which made some levels impossible to finish ! It was DREADFUL reviewing that game and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy to try it out, let alone 100% it x)
Freedom Planet is also notable as I believe it was the first official acting roles for Dawn M. Bennett (Lilac) and Alejandro Saab (Mayor Zao), alongside early roles from Sean Chiplock (Prince Dail, Spade)
Despite never thinking "God Eater" would ever actually get brought up here, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it did under the context of being a "Monster Hunter" clone. That's pretty much the one and only aspect most people know it for. Funnily, the same thing happened to its spin-off, "Code Vein". Yeah, "Code Vein" is strongly implied, to the point of just not outright stating it, to be part of the "God Eater" universe. And the one thing "Code Vein" is regarded as being is that one "SoulsBorne" clone, but "anime". Can't really catch a break there. But yeah, "God Eater" surprisingly might just be the second largest Monster Hunting series in that sub-genre. 3 mainline entries (with multiple enhanced iterations in-between), the aforementioned spin-off, something like 2-3 mobile games, an (albeit incomplete) anime adaption as well as multiple OVAs, multiple manga, for some reason has top billing from both Ufotable and Go Shiina, was featured in crossovers like both "Project X Zone" entries as well as having a one-off rep in "Neptunia" of all things, and more. It's kind of absurd how recognizably popular it actually was. Kind of a shame it's probably dead now. Shift, the developer of the series, got completely absorbed into Bandai with their company name being essentially discarded. Like, they don't even show up in the credits but the staff is all there. Their last project was over 5 years ago now with "Code Vein" and there's pretty much been no news since. You'd think it'd be "God Eater 3" which did release after but apparently not. Despite it being a mainline entry in Shift's flagship franchise, it was instead outsourced to Marvelous since they were busy working on "Code Vein". That's really sad. And given the mass layoffs at Bandai not too long ago, I really got to wonder if the final nail was finally hammered in on that coffin.
Surprised that "Holocure - Save the Fans" didn't get mentioned in the Vampire Survivors section. It's a VS clone using V-Tubers from Hololive (Gura, Korone, Pekora etc.) and it's honestly very good (and free to play might I add... Like ACTUALLY free to play not modern "free" to play)
I miss God Eater, but am very happy we are getting Freedom Wars remastered, it was so good even capcom copied the thorn, they did it really bad in iceborne, but they still tried it.
I'm gearing up for the eventual wave of Balatro clones. Because you know studies are scrambling right now to cash in on the game that has sold 2 million copies and a combined total of 11k YEARS play time and that was before it came to mobile platforms.😮
An interesting clone-ish game is Tornado Outbreak. It’s similar to Katamari where you play as a tornado sucking things up to get bigger and there are items to collect before moving on in each zone. I feel like you may have talked about it before but it was a fun take on the Katamari genre.
I’m glad that you’re having a nice experience with Foamstars.
