  • Dr. Zee is not a real doctor, he's Mr legal highs - the man who invented most of the designer over-the-counter drugs that are soon to be banned by new legislation.
    We followed Dr Zee as he meets Peter, owner of a Portsmouth head shop who's been making a living by selling Zee's chemical concoctions.

    In all honesty, I think most of these drugs became really dangerous when others started remaking them and copying his inventions that were banned. With that said, more people blame this man than they blame the government for the war on drugs, legalizing all drugs would save most countries billions or trillions and a lot of lives, that is what I believe to be true.

      This is the thing, Dr Zee is right, The whole reason the designer drug industry took such a deadly and drastic turn in recent years is because people saw what he was creating and decided to as you said in your comment, copy it and redistribute it under their own quirky brand names like Insane Joker or Vertex for example.
      The problem is when these criminals began attempting to cash in on his invention with their own renditions of it, they began experimenting and adding shit to it to make it more potent or make it seem like a stronger product than it is or better than it is. This is how things like HU-210 ended up becoming a thing, which if you don't know what HU-210 is, It's a Synthetic Cannabinoid that is 100 - 800 times more potent than natural THC.

    • @Jsarson1976
      @Jsarson1976 ปีที่แล้ว

      The thing is the original compounds were not killing people it’s when the low banned and then they changed it and changed and changed it. This to get over the law but that is when it started to get dangerous. JWH018 and UR144 were not killing people but when the AM series came out that’s when it got dangerous. It’s the same as in these powders, the original ones were less dangerous but after the first and second ban they had to change the drugs and thats when it got even more dangerous and ended up killing people. For example 4MMC MKAT it was changed to multiple different types but each type got more dangerous. Legalise it, help those who are going to do it do it safe and then get rid of the black market. It’s worked in Portugal’s and Spain.

Some bad talk around it but thousands upon thousands of good testimonies that say it was a life saver for opioid withdrawal and people say it help with pain and it makes you generally feel good. The argument against it is that it is "addictive". Yet its funny to say its addictive in comparison to something like opiates/opioids when big pharma is making millions off of people that struggle with pain by prescribing them pain killers. If kratom was so terribly bad it wouldn't have been used for like thousands of years by Asians and there wouldn't be so many excessive testimonies saying it helped opioid addiction and withdrawal and a few other issues people have. Anything is addictive and bad depending on how much you take and how often. I think in terms of kratom big pharma just wanted to try to ban it because it would vastly decrease the money they were making on pain killers. Even if kratom is somewhat addictive I find it funny that some news outlets and certain people give it a bad name as if there aren't homeless people on the streets getting no telling what kind of spiked drugs because the system isn't doing its job.

    • @zzzog2163
      @zzzog2163 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, he does. It's pharmacology, he sees how one chemical fits into a receptor and creates another chemical that fits into the same receptor slightly differently. Combined with harm reduction practices like taking a very small amount, seeing how it is and waiting, and then taking a small amount more and waiting and repeating the process until the desired effect is achieved. It's like if you lose a puzzle piece and carve a new one out of some cardboard, is it going to get up, do a backflip and become a cup? no, it's not. It may be slightly bigger/smaller/crooked and might not fit in how the old peice did but if you're careful and slowly snap the puzzle piece in there it's not going to do something totally crazy.

    I have never tried any drugs (bar alcohol, and medical obviously) but I strongly believe in the freedom of choice and expression. A lot of people talk about what it does to the people around them, but the same is true for Alcoholism, yet it is still legal and we have rehab centres for those who go a bit off the rails. ANY drug can be bad, it's all about control choice and the ability to receive help if needed

      You're acting like all legal highs are the same. It's like using crack cocaine as an example why illegal drugs are always bad.

    • @slipperyavocado9457
      @slipperyavocado9457 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      sertu yeah, but the risks of legal highs are much higher simply due to the fact they are relatively untested. Doesn't even matter tho cause they're illegal now0

    • @sertu1462
      @sertu1462 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah well weather they're legal or not depends on the country you're in. There are some RCs that are relatively common and therefor you can read reviews of them, plus they are usually pretty similar to the drug they've been inspired by. Sure they aren't 100% safe, but a few of them have few risks (1P-LSD, AL-LAD etc.)

    You go Dr. Zee. Atleast he's not taking a chance not knowing if something that could kill him is being thrown in the mix. People are gonna get high if they want to get high. Thanks for making cool stuff for the world.

    Oh yeah, he cares. He cares to feed his ego.
    I'm also not one to tell someone how to live their life but there is more to it than making your own reality...also you can achieve that without drugs. It takes work but it's possible. He's right about one thing though, you can't stop people from taking things so why not make it a little bit safer? It would be better to teach people about moderation though.

      Phenmetrazine was introduced too the pharmaceutical market in the 50s and has since been removed. 3-Flourophenmetrazine first surfaced in public literature around 2010 when filing for a patent.

    I'm a ex prisoner and former addict of legal high and I can tell you it's the worst thing in the world the addiction is extremely strong o would say more so then crack and herion whilst I was In prison 4 of my friends had heart attacks and 3 now have to have a catheter for the rest of there lives as this legal high basicly shut down the organs if you have ever been a addict of this you would know how hard it is to piss on it I'm a lucky guy I had the strength by myself with no help to completely rid my self of all drugs and drink I've now been out of prison a year I work have my own place and I'm opening my own business ....... but this drug nearly killed me to anyone thinking of taking this please don't and if you are a user please seek some help I beg you no one should have to go through what I did it's the most terrifying moment of my life as I thought I was going to die and I teallly believed it the drug makes you so paranoid to the point it brings on heart attacks please stay clear and this guy that made it should be in prison with a life sentence to never be released as it says his never sold it or nything well if that's the case how did it get out of course he sold it BBC covering up for a scum bag but then again it's not the first time they have covered up for scum and it won't be the last

      Richie Potton That's amazing how successful you've been with your recovery. Congratulations! I can't work this Dr Zee guy out. What's his motivation? Is it money, enthusiasm for these drugs, his ego? Does he honestly feel good about his invention? 'legal' highs have killed 450+ people in the UK alone and destroyed countless other lives. I've heard people say it's more addictive and the withdrawals are worse than heroin and crack. He seems to very successfully ignore any of the damage his invention has caused and instead take huge pride in it. What about the long term effects? He repeatedly mentions how deep his knowledge on these drugs goes, but doesn't real understanding of something come from studying it from all angles, including the criticisms and critiques? I don't know, I found the whole interview bizarre and slightly unsettling.

    • @richiepotton5136
      @richiepotton5136 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      katehinds thank you and personally I think the withdrawals is different for each person as yes it's very hard to get off but once you hit the 3rd day all the pain stops as when you stop taking it causes pain in back , stomach , bladder , kidneys etc are the pain is extreme to the point you feel like dieing and that's not just me a lot of my friends felt that way so in the end you smoke it to get rid of pain but if you can't wait the 3 days or extreme cases week or so it completely leaves you and you feel no pain and feel better that's how I found it works ......... to Anwser your question on this guy well he can say it's not about money and it's because he likes the high but let's be honest has anyone seen this man high did he smoke the thing he loves on camera no I believe he did not there is no way he loves this drug and takes it regular as he would be a desperate man as making this stuff as a addict himself is extremely dangerous would be like a crack or heroine addict trying to make there's would be fatal as there mind is not right so I do not belive he smokes thenstuff this is purely about money as at one point he would of been making hundreds of thousands and in prison this stuff sells at £50 to £100 a gram and he sells a gram for £10 so you can see the market I was thinking about starting to do videos myself with the knowledge I have got on these sort of things due to my history but for now I hoped you liked my reply and found some insight from it thanks kate for your support ...... just wish there was more people like you in this world

      For real, people are completely ignorant to the damage these drugs do. Who fuckin knows what's gonna happen to us down the line? As was said, we were guinea pigs, I aaaaalways say this! They have no idea about the long term effects which is scary as fuck because they could turn out to be unequivocally bad. I'm not trying to scare you by saying this as I'm sure you are already aware, its just scary shit.
