Jack does reverse pumping to slow down at 4:52. Reverse pumping is my favorite freeskating core skill, because of how useful it is to slow down in a straight line on sidewalks or even when going down steep hills. Where I cruise there is a dead end street, so after going top speed, I reverse pump until I reach a complete stop, and then start going in the opposite direction.
I don't know what distracted you at ~1:40 (but I sure as hell share the instinct, almost knew something was coming up) to miss the slippery ground right there but the way you caught yourself and immediately returned attention to look forward to make sure everyone else is safe... man that moment itself is amazing and could easily go unrecognized. I love how you just focus on your craft even though you're obviously a pro at it and then when there's enough room you take time to interact with the crowd (soccer ball). There's levels to this and this is a joy to watch. I had to laugh pretty hard when you said "there's people on the wrong side of traffic"...
😂 Yeahhhh admittedly it got hectic there! By the end of the video, adrenaline was definitely pumping and there was a lot going on. When you ride like this frequently, you start to build all sorts of instincts and it's easier to act on the fly. Glad you enjoyed the vid, thanks so much for hanging out!
when i first saw a video of a surf skate, i knew i had to have it and it changed the way i thought about skating. now i'm thinking these are the ultimate joyride. and can fit in a carry on bag easily! I think you will have a new customer!
That is nuts.......I just ordered some so you mission is complete. The traffic was intense and I think that fact that you were not on a skateboard which makes people think you are a criminal (from my own experience) generated some good will and curiosity. Thanks for the video!
From someone who learned Tokyo’s as their first trick, it helps with balance immensely. Learning Tokyo and one footing at the same time will help you grow really fast.
@@josemuniz_ i was practicing switch for an hour earlier and moved like 50 feet lol, riding goofy I can hill bomb going 17 mph so it’s weird being so bad
Man that is so cool, I’d invest in learning if I had somewhere to ride like that 👌 can you recommend a good pair of free skates to start with? Sick video and location great skills 🤙
Our videographer (myself, Gabe) is riding freeskates just like Jack! Turns out they are a great filming tool. Although, Jack was really ripping in this video, so it was a workout keeping up with him while managing to get the shot 😆
Now, this video is an outstanding discovery of something like this existing😮😮😮. Besides rollerblades, which aren't allowed in shopping malls, I am most definitely going to get a pair of these👋😃👍
Jack will ride for hours on end some days! In this video we were going for speed, nonstop cruising, lots of tricks, etc. Most people, even Jack, won't be riding at 100% on a normal day out.
The ones I've seen are pretty bumpy and uneven, not suited for freeskating. You could do it to make a point, but that doesn't mean it's gonna be comfy/preferred!
Hahaha appreciate that! There are many who are skilled at freeskating, in many different ways. In areas other than the USA, as you'll see in some upcoming vids!
Never even knew these skates existed or this was a thing until now. Unreal skating, like a cross between snowboarding and surfing on ground
That's what it feels like, and it's part of why Jack loves it so much as a snowboarder! Glad you were able to find out about em :)
Amazing tech, style, spot, music and filming! Thanks
Thanks for watching :)

Awesome! Was a lot of fun back in the days, years ago. I'm happy people are discovering how amazing freeskates are.

This looks like where those AI skateboarding videos get confused.
Ok, I'm convinced. This is so mesmerizing that I want to learn it myself!
Amazing video. The skating, the camera person, the lens, the music, the gimble, sheeeeeeesh. So damn good
Respect for going balls-out and preforming complex tricks right before crossing over people! Smooth operator!
it’s like rip sticking and skateboarding split in two then mashed together
I could watch this for hours! So smooth and relaxing.
I have a picture of a ghost on a tv.
how about doing it for hours?

It's terribly nice to watch ! 😮🤤
Wild! fixes the problem with rollerblades, you can't take your feet out of them when you are crashing
Respect! Making this look so easy. We’re not worthy.
Just a casual flip at the end wow
Jack Knapek 👍🏼
Hella-crazy talent!!! Mad skillz going on here...can't believe not more likes?
Respect from a freeskater that is too afraid to do 180s and tokyos. Maybe next year.
i need to learn switch haha then imma try them too
@@DoobieDre420 I need to learn how to freeskate haha

The videos of super smooth freskating is so mesmerizing! Also you guys should do a tutorial on riding switch, or tips for riding switch!
Thanks for the suggestion, definitely could use an updated video on the topic. Adding it to the list!
Mesmerizing… also props to the cameraman ❤
You make it look easy!
Appreciate it. Jack's incredible!
very nice run!!!! the last trick is perfect !!!!
This is so smooth. Amazing footwork and focus!
Thanks so much Kayla!!
DUDE got mad skills

dude this looks so fun you just made me want to buy a pair of these and try it. Thank you!
As long as you put the time in, you're gonna love it! 🤩
The guy behind to film is sure a master indeed
WHAT ARE THOSE!!!!
That was hypnotising 😍
1:40 thought he might fall 😂
That's the dream right there!
Southern Californian is heaven on earth
Love the flow 😊 … Thanks guy
The camera was intense
This is the first time I've seen this
I'm like WTF !!! Ehhhhh WOW. You are amazing. I'm flabbergasted.
Holy shit, i have never seen this before and it is soooo cool!!! great video!!!!!
Man its crazy how smooth he is on those skates I still dont trust myself to stop in time in public lol
Yeah Jack's on another level! In these situations where anything can happen, stopping abruptly is an incredibly valuable skill, for sure.
Can they be used more like rollerblades? Like turned 45°. They look super cool, but I think I might have an easier time learning them that way
Super cool and super goofy at the same time😅
We absolutely love it!
This deserves more views
Thanks so much! ✌️
Damn - one of the most coordinated feats I've ever witnessed! Incredible fitness too - if only I was 30 years younger!
Appreciate the kind words! 🙏
@@jmkride Just speaking the truth!
As someone who used to love rip-sticking, these look sick
This is 🔥
Awesome video. I was waiting you to upload a new video
Awesome freeskate riding!!
Thank you!!
The long smooth sidewalk is amazing. They don’t exist here.
We are very fortunate here in San Diego. Perfect place to freeskate!
This is all in one take btw!
Great watch! Smooth riding.. I really need to work out how to brake like he did there in the first minute or so of the video..
That was sick.
Appreciate it! Will make more in the future :)
Is there a video on toe scooping 0:43 and heel scooping 0:47?
Showofff😂 you killed it bro
😅 Thank you! Jack rips!!
Don’t know if I’d be patient enough to learn how to do this
He ran into a walker and blames them.😂
Was totally waiting for Adam's kid with a stick...
Amazing, I hope I can ride so smoothly one time. Unfortunately I barely got time to practice. 😅
Play the long game! Any amount of practice will help. Over time, you'll only become smoother :)
Nice cruise, Expect your tour video of Beijing China 🎉.
This is sick
Thanks so much!
my legs are sore just from watching

Appreciate the kind words!! A set of JMKs will give you the smoothest learning experience and will last you a long time as well.
What is this wonderous thing? Why have I never seen this before? Peace and love all ✌️
It's freeskating! It's definitely not common, but it's our mission to share it with as many people as possible. Thanks for stopping by!
What is the follow cam om?
They way you both manage to weave through the crowd is so cool to see.

Ahh' i'll get me a set, start practicing so I can bring them when I go on vacations to the Philippines or Korea..
Freeskates are incredible on vacations!

Welcome to the world of freeskating 😊
Did not know that these existed must be hard to learn how to use.
so is the only reason skateboarders get so much sneak diss hatred hurled their way because we be grinding?
wait till he learns about proper inline skate shoes
as i learned about this new complication
how long can you ride on those? 7 minutes? is it that exhausting
Way longer than that once you've practiced, and I wouldn't call it exhausting at all.
@@Willardsmusic ok cool. how long was your longest ride
@@pigreatlor Maybe 30-40 minutes in one stretch? But I go out and ride for 1.5-2 hours all the time, with occasional 5 minute breaks here and there.

How would these freeskates do on a boardwalk with actual boards?
The ones I've seen are pretty bumpy and uneven, not suited for freeskating. You could do it to make a point, but that doesn't mean it's gonna be comfy/preferred!
I grabbed some JMKs about a year ago, tried them and was like: "Jesus this is so hard" 😂 and never got back on them. Maybe it's time I tried again. 😅
Here's your sign! Just make sure to have fun with it and the rest will take care of itself :)
Hi buddy- you are awesome- skill!!! 🏆🏆💯
Впервые вижу такое. Если честно, то даже не понимаю механику набора скорости. Но это прям завораживает
Is this like a dragan board or streetboard
no
Yes, in some ways! Maybe we'll make a vid comparing it to freeskates :)
Wow…❤🎉
Woahhhhhhhhhh!!!
where are you skating?
Sleuthed it to Mission Beach San Diego.

It took me two weeks to learn to skate. Then my free skates were stolen, I hope they know how to ride them.
Oh no! 😥 I (Gabe) had a similar situation when someone broke into my car… I just hope they learned to ride 😆
