    Wow didn’t expect to see my video in yours, thanks for the credit and great video as I have had each of the issues you brought up on my Gen 2. My new Gen 3 so far has been trouble free but I’m only at 400 miles

    Great job and I look forward to your long term review. I have a turbo levo comp carbon and I’d definitely buy it again. The 5 issues you pointed out are kind of minor except the motor but the motor has a 2 year warranty and Specialized is pretty good with replacing the motor if needed. As for the rear shock, I believe Fox will update the 2022/2023 models for free with the 2024 internals which are supposed to be more reliable. For those with the lower end shocks like the Float X, the shocks have been fairly reliable. As for the AXS dropper post, I experienced the same issues as you but was able to rebuild it easily on my own (50 hour service which is basically cleaning and replacing a few parts) and its been rock solid since. The battery door, I haven’t broken the stock/non spring door and I have almost 700 miles on my bike. Every time I charge my bike, I make sure to use a reusable rubber twist tie to tie the crank arm to the rear triangle so I prevent the crank from accidentally hitting the battery door.

    6) Use a chain measuring device and check your chain too. The stock chain was worn out within the first 600 miles on my bike. Luckily I checked it and replaced it before it ruined my chain ring and cogs.

    Thanks for the concerning information 😅 my dad still has his 2016 gen 1 levo, it has only ever been used in turbo mode and the bike hasn't had many issues until recently the motor was cutting in and out, worked out the battery plug contacts were damaged and had a lose connection, replaced it and it's as good as gold. LEDs on the battery are stuffed from water damage which is another problem

    I had my turbo levo s work about 4 months ago but problems started few days after
    On the top of montagne the engine turn off by it self saying no batterie
    I turned on , and it repetad many many times
    I tool back to dealer they kept couple days and drived checked but they didn’t find the problem
    I took it back after a week it started to do the same problem
    They took it back 5 times
    Changed the cable between batterie and engine , changed the screen an other time they changed also tge minus plus bottom but the problem started again and they changed the batterie
    But after 10 mins ride with new batterie bike was worse
    It turned off 7 times in 50 mins ride
    Now it’s back to REPARE again
    So don’t Pau that much money for a bike is giving that much problem within 4 months time
    I don’t what will happens after this fix
    In 4 months 50% of the time bike stayed at the repaire
    I m really enjoying watching others riding while waiting my bike to be fixed
    Be careful guys
    Specialized bikes are just good looking bike

      @@EMTBReview e-bike surprises, I was researching the new SRAM t-type transmission for the levo and found that SRAM recommends the heavier XO for Ebikes since the lighter and more expensive t-type components wear down faster so I understand when you stick to the GX stuff. 😎

    Wheels get messed at the spokes with the base rims. They split at the holes. Had to replace the hanger for the derailleur. Almost had an issue with the rubber seal for the dropper post. Had to push it back in place with some special tools. Besides that. I've had to replace 2 brake handles from crashes. Lucky to have so many spare parts.

    I picked up an Orbea Rise back in the fall and immediately shipped it to Bentonville for it's maiden voyage. Did 100 miles on it over 7 days and it was flawless. First ride this spring and the rear hub exploded. And now it's creaking like it has 100,000 miles on it. And after some research, I've read about motor failures, power button failure, etc. Now granted, few people post up when things are going good so it paints a skewed picture, but is this an e-bike thing or did I get a crap bike? I can't recall ever having this many issues outta the gate with my regular bikes.

    • @eibach1000
      @eibach1000 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      that's why I'm considering specialized or trek as they have more experience with ebikes and are on their second ebike versions and hopefully have fixed most of the major problems from the first versions. especially with the motor. I've read Shimano issues with the orbea rise, fazua problems in pivot etc. but haven't read much issues with the mahle motor.

    My Levo wouldn't turn off on my ride yesterday. It was stuck in turbo mode and wouldn't let me toggle through the modes. When I would stop on the trail, the motor kept going and rear tire would keep turning. After I unplugged it and let it sit overnight, now it turns on then flashes red and blue and turns off. Anyone else had this problem? I just bought the in March.

    My rear shock Fox X2 Performance Elite on my Levo Expert started leaking air after 150 km. About 10-30 psi over 2-4 hours of riding approximately. It sucks! I also just noticed that it seems to leak oil near the dropper close to the motor.

  • @eibach1000

    I don't get why they designed the battery charging point right near the pedals where you could smash that area very easily on the underside of the motor. the worse spot to put it. trek fuel exe put it at the top of the downtube facing the rider. a perfect safe out of the way spot. and a very easy connection location to charge as well.

      I had the post issue right out the door. And as of yesterday I have had 2 failure to power-up issues. Really frustrating when you are meeting up for a ride, all loaded with gear and hit the button before loading and it is dead. Mine either short cycles "S" display and then goes off or it tells me the battery is not connected. The first electrical issue they replaced the battery and TCU, and the new TCU would not pair with my app, so i had to take it back and they found the donor bike and put it back. Kind of frustrating.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Coil shocks are ok. In the early years of Gen2 and Gen3, standard coil shock shafts were snapping because the Levo linkage put a lot of stress on it.
      Shock shafts now for coil have been strengthened.

    last step tip: take note of where the connection is, casually plug in the battery/motor connection, close the door, then firmly press on the door where the connection is and it will turn on first try regardless if the battery is charged to 100%.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good tip. On my bike, I put a foam, spacer on the door so when I lock the door, it presses on the connector constantly.
      It’s not a great design. And this part is very prone to problems and contamination

    • @Ant02496-
      @Ant02496- 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agree I'll have to try the foam.
      Plus they made a door with an axel which was a major improvement, the original door would break no matter what.
      The new door design has lasted me forever [i ride daily], even took a full force rock smash like a champion. Cracked it but still works!

      good to hear.. I'm considering getting the '23 levo SL due to this reason with the Mahle being reliable. I was also considering the trek fuel exe as I haven't heard any issues with the 50nm TQ HPR motor. I'm wondering if the less powered 50nm motors have better reliability; similar to high hp horse powered cars vs less hp powered cars.

      On the lower end spec models, this is more common since the hubs are cheaper quality and these motors really stress them.
