I'm excited for this one!! I love Anya-Taylor Joy and I know she’ll fucking kill this role
The look is a combination of high contrast and high saturation. Miller may have used heavy lighting with a very fast exposer, which when color corrected in high contrast and saturation gives this kind of look.
Clarus would rock a Furiosa cosplay! She has a similar look to Anya-Taylor Joy.

I think it’s because the VFX aren’t quite done yet so there will be work to render the graphics that takes months still to come
It is not the CGI or the VFX needing work. It is the way they choose the lighting. Everything looks chromed (literally) and crisp. You take a closer look in 4K and you realize it is an artistic, aesthetic choice that makes the movie look like if you were watching a comic book novel, kind of like Sin City or 300 (with way higher tech and production, of course.)
They are moments like some scenes with the trucks and cars that you think it is full CGI, at first glance, but when you take a more analytical look, they seem to be practical.

Despite all the weird VFX moments, this movie seems very promising!
I think what you're trying to say about the visual tone is that it's highly saturated, which is not how dystopian films are usually shot.
I'm super excited about "Furiosa", and hope this is leading to an ATJ-led franchise, or at least a trilogy. That would be awesome!
Well Miller does have plans for a third film called The Wasteland with Tom Hardy back as Max. Miller even has a contingency plan in case he can’t do it where he has 3 other directors in mind to take over if he can’t.

i thought the same thing about the visuals and then i saw the trailer on an imax screen and i was SOLD
I recommend to your attention the 2015 Mad Max game based on the previous film. I found a lot of videos about it and today it can be purchased very cheaply. Its visuals weren't top-notch even then, but its style and atmosphere are still great. It wasn't a big success at the time and advertising also avoided it, but now it has a bit of a cult status. It has been added to many lists as a recommended work. I would be very happy for a sequel, but unfortunately there is no chance.

Its going to be amazing - cant wait, same as fallout - really hyped for these two and Dune 2 next year. Interested to see is Immorten Joe is Hemsworth or a different character - on his IMDB it says "immorten joe" next to Chris, so unless its a lie - we shall see - happy to have two bad guys.

I also thought of Sin City (as well as The Spirit) while watching the trailer.
My one negative about Hemsworth is that the beard + red cape... I just can't unsee Thor. But wow Furiosa looks just like Clarus lol, she could cosplay her so well.

Why does everyone keep criticising how it looks? Y’all say Fury Road was 100% practical it really wasn’t there was a ton of post production and especially compositing the main actors against death defying stunts as it would’ve been way too dangerous
People are foolish. They don't understand that an 80 year old director can't go to the desert. As you say, it's also dangerous to do everything in real. Yet it's not a problem to go and see Avatar or the Marvel films, which are only CGI
Fury Road is loaded with with cgi , so I'm not understanding why people are whining about this movie either.
@@mr.awesomecatfuzzypants2989 - The reason people are commenting on the look of this is that Fury Road did not look like it was loaded with cgi, even if it might have been. If this has a comparable amount of cgi, then they either didn't hide it as well, or they made an artistic choice to lean into a more hyper-real look. I think people will "get used" to it, but their initial impression was surprise.
Fury Road had a lot of sky replacement and elements added, but most of the cars and people were done on location in camera. This movie uses a lot more in studio techniques, like the infamous Volume. It looks different. Less crisp, less gritty, and less depth due to the limitations of the Volume when it comes to scale. Also, it has a different DP, one who has shot a lot of CG looking movies like Warcraft.

Saturated and hyper real might be the words you’re looking for. Consider the HD saturation of the Black and Chrome Edition.

When I saw the still for the trailer I thought it was Clarus. Anya Taylor-Joy looks like Clarus, it's not the other way around. X^)

it's like the movie was shot on the surface of mars. not many markers to indicate that it takes place on earth.
Chris Hemsworth has the same problem beautiful female actors have. He's too good looking and thus expected to play Himbos for comedic effect and box office draws. Hopefully, as he gets more mature, he'll get more deep roles.
I hope he doesn't have to suffer a massive body change like Brendan Fraser did to get onto the deeper dramatic career path.
Ryan Gosling is a handsome boy but plays lot of serious roles. I think chris could try other things and he might be good too. But yeah here he seems the eccentric guy

I can't help but feel watching these trailers on TH-cam isn't a good idea. The compression always sucks.
Trust in George Miller. Like Fury Road - the movie is seriously over saturated to get the wild color saturations. This movie will be EPIC. Like going inside a graphic novel and having your senses assaulted for two hours. Cannot wait!! Also Hemsworth is on record as saying this to date is the best film he has ever done and the one he is most excited about - he and Taylor-Joy are going to nail this.

It has that Zack Snyder, hyper-real, "300" quality filmic style. I hope it translates well to Miller's style.
