I hope you have a wicked time mate! I'd love to go one day. I had a similar experience as yourself except it was with car rental. It really started our holiday off on the wrong foot. We kept thinking about what we could've used the money on, how it's now gone from the pot. But what really helped is knowing at the end of the day, you cannot take any of it with you when you're gone, so just enjoy the experience!🤙

that price increase for the extra baggage is actually ludicrous! Id have been mad too mate, dont worry! I once booked an overnight stay in a hotel the night before an early flight, and I booked the same date as the flight, which obviously wasnt the night before!!! big mess, I was mad as fuck for the whole holiday, so dont let this ruin you mindset for the journey ahead :)

Yeah, airlines are scummy like that. Airport security can be as well depending on where you're going/coming from. I travel for work a fair bit, was in Dubai for a month at the end of last year and did most of my Christmas shopping over there. It cost me a small fortune for the extra baggage to bring it home as well.

£400 mark up on extra luggage because its last minute is peak big company sales tactic, id have lost my rag on the phone to customer service
