1:30 While geographically Brazil and Uruguay are not European, culturally 1920s Brazilian and Uruguayan urban societies very much were. Both Barradas and Tarsila were from rich european families and studied art in Europe. In fact, the Brazilian modern art movement intentionally wanted to create a more indigenous artstyle, including blending native motifs with modern art.
Many of the non-european brazilian cultural traits, such as samba, carnaval parades, codification of capoeira and even the concept of a Brazilian national identity itself (as the one established by Gilberto Freyre) come concurrently or after the 1922 week of modern art. In Uruguay, Torres-Garcia's efforts to make a national school of art only comes in the 1930s.
Apologies for the criticism. It's my only nitpicking of an otherwise great video :)

Did these get removed or something? Part 2 older than part 1?

I had an issue with an incorrect portrait and several complaints about the soundtrack being too loud. So I decided to make adjustments and re-upload the video. My apologies for any confusion or inconvenience.
