I have to say, I prefer this, as it is a high scuff area that you frequently whack with your shoes when getting in our out, and the plastic is much easier to clean than if it were leather... especially in harsher winter environments where you are going to be sloshing up snow, road salt, etc.
no it doesn't, that is a classic jag r front end seen on jaguars for years ,+ BMW have never made a car this good looking, just face it BMW got beat, every review you watch will tell you the same thing so just get accustomed to it.
