Roman doesn't seem to be into it so much in this vid - not sure why. I just drove an XF with the lighter interior for a little spin and I quite liked it. I liked it quite a bit more than the 5-series actually.
A good alternative to the "I must drive a German car to belong," the dash is plain, but so are the dashes on many BMW's,, why didn't they put a wooden dash like in mine? it's classic Jaguar heritage to do this!
+lffit I love the simplistic look of the Jaguar but I agree. They should have added more wood to the vehicle (of course not drape the whole thing with wood) but I believe it could still be as simplistic even if they added more wood.
I agree mine just has the dash panel in wood, some S Types look overdone with it on the steering wheel and elsewhere; I suppose Jaguar decided this is what German car owners like. Perhaps also one reason why the rear end looks plain on the XE almost Audi like!
Enjoyed review. Especially appreciated question/comment on whether or not technology is getting in the way of the driving experience. more focus on whether someone can connect the iPhone via Bluetooth than whether one can get a bigger engine or more performance these days.
You can say what you like about Jaguars but Jaguar customers are the most happiest owners after Lexus owners. Mercedes, BMW and Audi are at and below average according to several customer satisfactions surveys both here in the UK and the US (JD Power, Driver power Autoexpress) I would have one of these in a heartbeat over a Merc or BMW. Audi? Really dont know, i do like the A6. Reliability concerns, well a British police force in Sussex had a fleet of brand new e classes which they had to get rid of after 2 years because they were so unreliable. So under intensive use at least, they dont hold up.
Hammer Smith I think you are the moron here. Ford went a lot time ago. This car is entirely designed and built by Jaguar, England, not Ford. The Ingenium engine is produced by Jaguar. So "you figured" wrong.
Definitely the best in it's class. The new Mercedes is for granddads, old ladies and taxi drivers. Interior looks best in cream, white or suede, not a fan of red or black.
Apart from the obvious teeth grinders - Jagwar; aluminum; Steve's accent; Nik's hairstyle - I found this a very entertaining video. Current Jaguars are a curate's egg. The good bits are, suspension, handling, steering and materials. The bad bits are, loss of idiosyncrasy, poor engines and tasteless interiors. The most interesting part of the video is the geomorphology of the area. Judging from the rock and the strata, it must have been a seabed at some time, and the differential erosion is fascinating.
I KINDA LIKE THIS CAR AND IM THINKING OF BUYING 1 SOON BUT 1ST I Wanna know if THEY DEPRECIATE ALOT after a few years. can someone help me out with this plz?
+Victor Rodriguez You can expect any luxury car to depreciate very quickly, Jags aren't that much different in that respect. Having said that, after about three years or so, when they get down to a certain price range, Jags tend to hold their price longer than most.
American: "so this is all aloooooooomenem?" Brit: "Well this is 75% aluminium"...... Has look of extreme satisfaction on his face for teaching American how to speak properly LoL
I like this interior more than Mercedes. I hate how modern Mercedes interiors are getting. I like old school, yet still modern interiors. Just like this car
I have a 2014 jag xj and it is THE worst car I've ever owned. I want to say I've had a different "light" or issue pop up almost twice a month. They DO NOT cover anything. I was on the highway and the power brakes went out... The BRAKES. I had to push myself against the seat with the brake pedal extremely hard in order to stop. Luckily no one was hurt. Jaguar says the brake line was leaking and they're very "sorry". I hit the sideview mirror on a mailbox and it was $1100 to fix. Airbag lights came on randomly. Infotainment would lag once in a while. One main issue I had was with the autostart/stop which never worked. The list goes on. Hands down the worst car I've ever had. This xf is incredible just like my xj absolutely incredible, on the outside. I had it as a loaner plenty of times and look loved the sporty drive and mostly everything about it. I had one xf while one of the many problems was "being taken care of" and the second day the engine light comes on. Again Jaguar apologizes.
To add to the "list goes on" the seat cooler wouldn't comply with the buttons. It just didn't work. That was frustrating living in Florida. Alpine Jaguar of fort Lauderdale is who I had to deal with. They would not cover anything the car was a piece of shit and I strongly urge anyone considering one to think about something else. Jaguar is known for not functioning and I blindly went and (luckily) leased one because nothings changed other than the appearance
Land Rover LR2...$8500.00 in repairs in the first 2 years of ownership and none of those were warranty items. 75,000.00 purchase price. I ditched it and took a huge financial hit. Never again!
Car looks nice and original in the front. Side rear windows look like the new nice Chrysler 200 and the exhaust set up in the back looks similar to the set up of the Mazda 6.
Another reviewer said this car has some hard touch plastics that it's competition doesn't have. Why put hard touch plastics in a Jag? This is supposed to be all the way luxury.
so what would be better to own an XF or a XK? trying get a second car since been driving a clk 430 w208 for five years now just want work on it as a project car so need something replace it was going get a newer benz but the Jag been catching my attention recently
The only good thing about this car is the exterior ! The front looks so nice and aggressive and I'm really disappointed for a sport model having only 380HP while its competitors have at least 560HP !!!
Who's the 'small child' with the beard in the front passenger seat ? Gosh, he makes someone like Michael Caine as charismatic as a Kraft cheese slice. It makes me proud to be a Brit.......
+Cantatos yep, Audi has been setting the trend for the last 15 years already. BMW sadly still has their interiors from 15 years ago, and yes, the Jag interior looked all new and I retesting for about 7 minutes.
+Skiballas the great the Jags very minimalistic I think. I personally like it. But I agree that the new E-class is in a different league for interior compared to the others..!
It's a good car, but if I'm paying over $70k I'm giving my money to BMW Audi or Mercedes. I feel like this car is worth no more than $55k all the Germans competitors beat it in power interior exterior and overall performance. But good job jaguar!
I would maybe consider leasing it for under $450 a month with 0 down. The interior looks dated and exterior looks almost the same as the original XF. It was a nice looking car when it first came out, but its been a while. In reality, it could compete with Koreans if it was around $45k.
I think Jaguar had the perfect recipe in 2012 with the 5.0 and conservative yet luxurious interior. They've been moving the wrong direction since.Did the XF team lose some key members? Did Tata reduce funding?
+Viking Power Actually, now its Tata, which is a crappy Indian car company. They picked up Jaguar once Ford was done with it, since nobody else was interested.
Skiballas the great excuse me for misinterpreting your statement.. I still don't know why you had to write such nonsense. He didn't even mention purchasing it...
MrKeyboardCommando haha thankfully I'm not the part of it ;) but we do get along fairly well in these last encounters, don't we? It seems as if your painful loss in one of our correspondences is long forgotten.
Jaguar external styling is dated. Didn't really show their clear innovative approach. Interior looks Maserati-esque. Exterior same old with minor changes. Jaguar somehow, doesn't get me excited like a BMW or Mercedes in that price range could.
+Shuffle3956 If you buy a new BMW you will have for 4 years 0 cost maintenance. I don't think you had the experience to drive one to support your statement. Which brand are you comparing with? Not a Ford Jaguar I assume.
+Shuffle3956 I got a $4k black friday discount deal, and honestly $38k for a 4 series is a bargain, with all the standard features. A Lexus RC is over $45k and doesn't offers many standard features BMW does. I like Lexus sedans but this new coupe is too small. With all the technology evolution 3-4 years is the perfect ownership period nowadays, which fits well a 4 yr warranty. It is a matter of opinion, I respect yours, but for car enthusiasts the industry became so dynamic and competitive that a 5 yr old car today looks like a 10yr old car, back in the 2000´s, not mentioning fuel efficiency savings with new or updated models.
I don't see a single reason to buy this over an E-Class. Design looks on par with the last generation of E-Class, I doubt the driving dynamics are on par with Mercedes customizability.
+ThatKiDwiththeDrums Mercs are by far the least handling/sport oriented cars out of the competition (BMW, MB, Audi, Jaguar). Drive the latest C class and then drive an XE or a 3 series. Same for the E class v/s 5 series and XF (even the current generation)
where did you imagine this? Mercs have always had relatively poor dynamics and handling. you've read too much marketing material. mercs are all about looking good on the surface - interior and exterior. jaguar has always been a driver's car. there is no competition in that aspect.
love the car, interior and exterior. As soon as i look at the gauges a FAIL. Luxurious car and the rpm/speedo looks plain and boring, from a econo car. Overall Jag did a great job
Interior design is meh and material plastics look very cheap for this class. Also Jag is far behind in tech compared to MB and BMW. Disappointing car to me especially after the great Ftype.
interior looks really cheap und boring. I dont know how this is possible, but the old XF interior looks way more modern und luxury. and the new rear is crappy too, looks like an boring audi. not elegant, not british. just boring.
LMAO @ Jaguar AND any SUCKER that would buy one! Complete GARBAGE car! True the XKE was one of the GREATEST car designs in our lifetime, and super fast, but still one of the WORST car makers EVER! Besides FIAT (Fix It Again Tony) Ba, HA, HAAAA!
great to listen to someone hows knows their stuff about jag thanks
Nice Deadpool color scheme on those seats, love it.
the 1st 15 seconds is why i want jag
Let's just hope the typical Jaguar depreciation knocks these things down to my price range in a few years!
Do you have now your jaguar? 🧐
Roman doesn't seem to be into it so much in this vid - not sure why. I just drove an XF with the lighter interior for a little spin and I quite liked it. I liked it quite a bit more than the 5-series actually.

Hopefully they'll drop a V8 in and give us an R variant at some point...
+disgraceland uk Looking forward to it...
Do these come with CD PLAYERS ?❤
it's beauty it's grace
Truly 🙏🏾

+Oliver Newell, Thank you for that bit of information.
Hammer Smith The only thing the Indians, or rather TATA provided was money, unlike Ford. British designed and engineers produce Jaguars.
+Hammer Smith English designed and built. You ought to do your research.
+Hammer Smith well excuse me for pointing out your factual error. maybe verify your facts first?
Hammer Smith I think you are the moron here. Ford went a lot time ago. This car is entirely designed and built by Jaguar, England, not Ford. The Ingenium engine is produced by Jaguar. So "you figured" wrong.
I like Jaguars better then a Mercedes
Audi blows this away
I like jaguars more than german cars

TFL Car can we expect you guys to be at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit MI at Cobo Hall in January 2016?
whats thast camera he's holding so small with such nice quality
It's Ian Callum, not Ian Cullen. Pronunciation is everything.
Please compare this to the a6 E class and 5 series one day!
I KINDA LIKE THIS CAR AND IM THINKING OF BUYING 1 SOON BUT 1ST I Wanna know if THEY DEPRECIATE ALOT after a few years. can someone help me out with this plz?
+Victor Rodriguez Jag hold their value slightly better than German competitors in Europe.
+Victor Rodriguez You can expect any luxury car to depreciate very quickly, Jags aren't that much different in that respect.

+Troy Strain LoL.... Good Trump impersonation.
+Skiballas the great Very funny, except the guy who isolated the element first called it _alumium_ ,then _aluminum_.
+Skiballas the great "You say 'erbs' and we say 'herbs', because there's a fucking H in it."
+DroverChicago except I say herbs as well.... Mmmm, ain't that a pickle lol
+Skiballas the great Its simply because it is spelt without the i after the n in the US
where was the test done? Was it in colorado??
I like this interior more than Mercedes. I hate how modern Mercedes interiors are getting. I like old school, yet still modern interiors. Just like this car
looks like deadpool designed the interior haha😂😂😂
What is the full range of engines? Just the six-cylinder?
Nothin beats a British car in British Racing Green!
I wish Infiniti would make a new model that competes. The Q50 is nice, but it's more comparable in size to the C-class
I have a 2014 jag xj and it is THE worst car I've ever owned. I want to say I've had a different "light" or issue pop up almost twice a month. They DO NOT cover anything. Texas Trill XF.
it's not easy to do it right the second time...it was a design masterpiece when it first came out nine years ago. Now it's too deja vu...
where was this filmed?
nutter butter Sedona, AZ
The only good thing about this car is the exterior ! The front looks so nice and aggressive and I'm really disappointed for a sport model having only 380HP while its competitors have at least 560HP !!!

luxury cars are not really made for 6.2+ height people, there are rarely any cars that are comfortable for 6+ people.
the new e-class looks waaays nicer inside.
Mercedes is nailing the interiors the last couple of years. I do feel the Jaguars are just a bit plain.
+Cantatos yep, Audi has been setting the trend for the last 15 years already. BMW sadly still has their interiors from 15 years ago, and yes, the Jag interior looked all new and I retesting for about 7 minutes.
+Skiballas the great it may look boring but materials and build quality are on par if not greater than the Germans
+Braden McHenry there is that of course, and since I have not had the pleasure I will take your word for it.
+Skiballas the great the Jags very minimalistic I think. I personally like it. But I agree that the new E-class is in a different league for interior compared to the others..!
I wonder if he actually knows that the UK is in Europe?...
shhhhh, dont tell him
It's a good car, but if I'm paying over $70k I'm giving my money to BMW Audi or Mercedes. I feel like this car is worth no more than $55k all the Germans competitors beat it in power interior exterior and overall performance. But good job jaguar!
Looks like the elantra and sonata from hyundai by the side but so do other new vehicles
I bet the next Taurus will have a aluminum frame
nice car but did they forget to update the gauge cluster, looks like they borrowed that one from hyundai
I would maybe consider leasing it for under $450 a month with 0 down. The interior looks dated and exterior looks almost the same as the original XF. It was a nice looking car when it first came out, but its been a while. In reality, it could compete with Koreans if it was around $45k.

nice Jaguford:)
+Travis Johnson Ford sold Jag around a decade ago!!! It's pure Jag now.
+Viking Power Actually, now its Tata, which is a crappy Indian car company. They picked up Jaguar once Ford was done with it, since nobody else was interested.
Jagta
I hate all these product managers who don't really know what they're talking about.
2017 E-Class is coming. Good luck Jaguar.
Jag has the reputation going for it, though. I'd rather be seen in one of these than an E-class.
And it looks like you will be old enough to buy one in 2032
Skiballas the great is this aimed towards me? Bitch please, you're so ugly that you refuse to put a profile picture on.
Skiballas the great excuse me for misinterpreting your statement.. I still don't know why you had to write such nonsense. He didn't even mention purchasing it...
+Nik Brudar it's what he deserves for implying a car that is not out yet is better than a car he has never driven yet. Get it?
Only second this time. I must be losing whatever touch I never had.
you disappointed your fanbase.
Nik Brudar Don't worry, they're used to being disappointed.
MrKeyboardCommando haha thankfully I'm not the part of it ;) but we do get along fairly well in these last encounters, don't we? It seems as if your painful loss in one of our correspondences is long forgotten.
Nik Brudar Actually, one cannot forget that which did not happen.
Troy Strain Hey, thanks for the heads-up. I'll ask if he's got a sister.
Jaguar external styling is dated. Didn't really show their clear innovative approach. Interior looks Maserati-esque. Exterior same old with minor changes.
Jaguar somehow, doesn't get me excited like a BMW or Mercedes in that price range could.
Driver's car? 5 Series. Luxury interior and refinement? E Class.
the new E class is way better, but not sure which one will have more problems...
+LOLBTLOLBT The only problem either one of them has is, how the hell do I afford it ????
if u r short on money, u will be surprised how much they go for after 3 years near the end of warranty
LOLBTLOLBT And you'll be surprised how short I am of money. But thanks for the thought.
For $74k you can get a M4, M3 or a loaded 5 series or A6, much better cars. The glove box and dashboard is similar to Kia's and other Korean brands..
+Shuffle3956 If you buy a new BMW you will have for 4 years 0 cost maintenance. I don't think you had the experience to drive one to support your statement. Which brand are you comparing with? Not a Ford Jaguar I assume.

Sat it in at the Frankfurt Motorshow. The interior quality is not great.
I thought so from seeing it in this video! There's too much plastic everywhere. That's where Jag falls behind the Germans.
Well Jaguar is technically European although Britian isnt part of the mainland continent.
+ThatKiDwiththeDrums The name and history. Jaguar sounds much better than Mercedes.
some people don't want to drive a car that is as frequent as seeing a corolla
+ThatKiDwiththeDrums They are not on par with the Mercedes, they are miles ahead of them!
where did you imagine this? Mercs have always had relatively poor dynamics and handling. you've read too much marketing material. mercs are all about looking good on the surface - interior and exterior. jaguar has always been a driver's car. there is no competition in that aspect.

cool
Nicer than the German offerings, but lacks in technology compared to the German offerings.
Europeans? You were only talking about Germans. (Mercedes, Audi, BMW)
i like this get he honest and dosent just let you by . tough and good questions if only someone did that to trump.
Id ove to see alooomenium Button
It looks cheap inside. Compared to the A6 and E class it's poor.
Interior design is meh and material plastics look very cheap for this class.
Also Jag is far behind in tech compared to MB and BMW.
Disappointing car to me especially after the great Ftype.
Should've used beige for the leather than that awful red seats.
You my friend have no taste.
***** There's a reason why it's harder to resell cars with red interior.
You can't spec this car with beige seats, only black / oyster (which is ugly) I think black is truly the only good interior option for this car.
Red and black or all black is the best
+daAnder71 Then go for Brown or white instead. Beige may be boring, but this red interior not only looks tasteless, but also classless.
Its no F-type
soooooo tired of seeing red interiors now
"sopercharged" LOL
The other Europeans? You mean Germany :)
"jagwar"
interior looks really cheap und boring. I dont know how this is possible, but the old XF interior looks way more modern und luxury. and the new rear is crappy too, looks like an boring audi. not elegant, not british. just boring.
that engine sounded like a weed wacker
awd
Sedona
If you drive an impala LTZ you're not going to spend 75.000.00 on this pile.
aluminum frame! I smell a Ford here!Lol
TORQUE OF THE DEVIL
HAHA I didn't know Jaguar was not "European"....
+john hunter It's not -typical- European.
It's Indian now. Tata own it.
+niptodstan yes, and the Dodge Challenger is Italian.
english> german
I'd rather take the Volvo S90
Need sub-titles for the English gent....don't have a clue what he is saying. Not the best Jag spokesman for the US market.
LMAO @ Jaguar AND any SUCKER that would buy one! Complete GARBAGE car! Lets face it, Jag was NEVER a good reliable car to being with, then after Ford bought them.....well that's all that needs to be said! True the XKE was one of the GREATEST car designs in our lifetime, and super fast, but still one of the WORST car makers EVER! Besides FIAT (Fix It Again Tony) Ba, HA, HAAAA!
What do you drive?
BMW!
Z
Yeah right.
